- The 1958 Lincoln Continental Convertible "Maybelle" built by Kindig-It Designs...I caught up with at The SEMA Show 2017....This is one of those cars that will catch your eye weather you like it or not...You will still stare at it....I am a fan...The blue they used on the body is very bright...And very cool...And the Bentley color they used on the interior just pops! against it....Under the peekaboo hood you will find a Ryan Falconer twin supercharged V-12...Because a big car...Needs a big motor...There are numerous body mod and the underside is just a awesome as the top...This is a Classy cool build that I think you will like as much as Me....Check it out!!!

The best custom job I've seen in a while, The color combo is stunning. All aluminum motor V12 Wow. Front and rear panels shaved n molded looks Cool. This Lincoln is amazing. The portal walls n Stainless wheels work nice. Thanks Scottie I like this one!!!

At first, when I saw the car on the show I wasn't into it but the second time, as the show hit the various angles, it hit me like a frying pan to the face!

The best custom job I've ever seen. Been waiting for a re-run on the Velocity Channel to see the build again! The older couple brought the car in to get it customized and it was flawless virtually original OEM quality and we all thought the old man was making a HUGE mistake. But bichen rides did an unbelievable job.

If there’s a better car builder right now than Kindigit Designs that isn’t named Steve Moal ... I would like to see it. Dave’s team is amazing and he pays them well, sees them as Co-owners rather than employees, and taps each of their different knowledge for different specialties, plus he reinvests in his company. You don’t see him driving around in 500k cars. He also had the intelligence to realize that hiring engineers for car customization is better than just the same old car builders.
That engine in that car is about 60k and was originally meant for aviation or marine use. Go to their website. Falconerengines.com if you want more info Scottie. Great video. Not sure if you watched the tv show when he built this car, but the amount of work in that thing is insane. Plus nobody does an engine bay like Kindigit Designs!

1st. Big ol lead sled. Back when gas was 25 cents a gallon. I have a buddy to this day has a shop full of these big boys. The custom work is genius, almost a dying trade. Great find Scottie! "w.w."

An indy and Shelby builder all the way back from the 60s and he is now in his 70s and still building next to my shop in chino valley az.

Looks absolutely fantastic. Only improvements that I could suggest: A manual trans, and get it off the ground. Give this masterpiece some ground clearance. It would be very interesting to get the views of Neil Young in possibly adding it to the Lincvolt project. It would be interesting to see the V12 Falconer engine become an electric backup.

A man, whom i called a friend, for a short while, before his passing around 2005, was the late John Najjar, retired Ford Stylist extraordinaire, The head of the Lincoln Studio from 1955 to 1958, who was the man responsible for the design of the 1958 Lincolns and the Continental Mark III. They were gargantuan cars, the convt tipped the scales at over 5500 lbs, it was the largest Un bodied automobile ever built by an American manufacturer, An all new car, an all new design, both from a body and an engineering standpoint, a brand new assy plant in rural Wixom Twp, MI..... This led to many running changes in the 58 model years, as a result of a dozen recalls. Fit and finish were questionable. It was a baptism by fire regarding the Un underbody. And to top it all off, by the summer/fall of 1957 we were thrown headlong into the beginnings of a deep economic recession with many of the major Steel manufacturers on strike around the country. Needless to say the cars did not sell well...A very unconventional, bordering on odd design, numerous mechanical issues, and the general economy led to their downfall, and fast too. Najjar was laterally transferred out of the Lincoln Studio to the Tractor Studio...(how's that for a slap??) and Don DeLaRossa was called in to clean up the mess, and did a light freshening on the Lincoln for 59 and then a final year very nice redo of the 1960 model. But it was too little too late, and Lincoln Division was even rumored as considered for sale for a short while. Division head Ben D. Mills was given one more body cycle for Lincoln to prove itself, and the all new 1961 (suicide door, slab side) Lincoln set Cadillac and Imperial on their ass for the next 15 years. Long live the `958-60 Continentals.... "The Forgotten Marks"....... I have owned a dozen of them since my first in 1988.
