In this video, I'm showing you how I built a wooden Serving Tray and added an element of art to it by cutting in a map with my Glowforge laser and adding blue epoxy. This was a fun project and I love the way it came out.

Laser working is awesome 😎
WOW!!! That machine is so impressive. Thank's for sharing April.
Thanks for sharing April. The tray turned out great. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍👍👋👋
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it.
Loved Canyon Lake trips as a kid. Such a cool project too
Yes, it is great up here. Thanks for watching.
She has the best videos . Always enjoy her projects .
Thank you for your kind words. Thanks for watching. :)
Pretty Neat Tray!!!
That's awesome April
I love Canyon Lake!! I spend time there often!
Great Dutch beer on a beautiful Texas tray!
Very much skilled...and all the tools you have are amazing!
Nice!! I bet you enjoyed a respite from the arduous work you've been doing in the hot Hill Country sun.
We can only watch and drool with envy with some of these projects for the past 2 years. Can't afford any of these CNC, Glowforge etc. This is very entertaining and informative though if not practical like what you used to craft.
Many enjoy my Channel who don't do woodworking at all, but view it to see what I'm up to next. The entertainment factor. I still use drills and saws but view the CNC and Glowforge as just another tool in my Shop that has its uses.
That turned out really good April. I Once made a coffee table using the same kind of method. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome! Thank you!
Beautiful work April. Love it!
this is one of my favourite April W. projects ever.
Looks great very nice 👍. Thanks 😊!!
Thanks for watching!
Turned out great April, looks awesome! 😍👍🏻👊🏻
I LOVE CANYON LAKE! I was stationed at Randolph AFB in 1985-88. We used to camp and rent boats at Randolph Recreation Park!
It's a gorgeous part of Texas for sure
@@AprilWilkerson how much did the graphic designer work cost you to make the lake map file?
I just came across your channel by looking for how-to concrete countertop videos...then this was posted while watching Outdoor Kitchen Part 6! As a web map developer and completely noob woodworker, I am in LOVE with this video. Subscribed, liked, notified!
Interested!!! Keep posting your progress. I can't wait to see where you go next with this journey.
is very beautiful
Love your projects
Thanks!
What a great idea! Now if I only had April's workshop I could make my own lol. Seriously, I love this idea!
Love your project
Very nice piece of equipment, also those are gonna look great in the outdoor kitchen!!!! I use to visit Canyon lake when i was younger!!!!
Great project April!

What a dynamite idea….I’m going to make one this weekend! You never cease to amaze, April!
Please do!
Nice work
Nice tray and a perfect way to serve that beer from the Netherlands. Enjoy.
This looks so cool! I grew up on the Trinity River and I’ll have to keep this in mind.
Beautiful tray and handy engraver.....👍
Excellent idea 💡 congratulations
I so want a Glowforge. Such a great technology.
It’s called a laser. You don’t need a glow forge brand. There are many others on the market for less money.
Great suggestion. Thanks.
April ur work is so amazing! Truly works of art!!!
Thank you so much!
Nice presentation 👍
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Looks like a fantastic starter project.
I use my laser to cut my maker mark into my projects
Thanks! That's awesome!
Looks good!!
Love the Dutch beer, the Grolsch bottle between the other drinks on the beautiful tray. Good taste you have 😃
Beautiful
Nice work. The way you work and explain stuff everything looks so easy. I wish I was so skilled like you. Can't wait to see your next project.
Thank you for your kind words. I haven't always been able to do the complicated things I can now. Start small and build your confidence and skill level. You will love the feeling of seeing something you built. Thanks for watching.
>=)Grin No shoes were hurt. LOL, The cut-off of the lake looks like a dragon. When you pulled it out. Beautiful tray.
Yes! Thank you!
@@AprilWilkerson Sorry the devil made me say it. It is a beautiful tray.
Holy moly ,you can start to produce DIY sets in several type of woods to those who bulding model planes or boats
April this looks fantastic. I'm surprised you didn't do your famous happy dance lol.
Keep the great videos coming
Thanks for sharing and God bless
Beautiful tray April! Nice idea!
Hi April, I stand amazed! You have such incredible skills, and your serving tray is a work of art, it's so beautiful, I'd hang it on my wall as a showpiece! This laser technology, is something else! A great entertaining video, and I love your commentary💗🌹
Saludos desde Tenerife, Islas Canarias, Spain.
☺🙏🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🤝🤝
Very good quality and good working
Thanks
Lovely work April! Thanks for sharing the project with us!💖👌👍😎JP
I also live at Canyon Lake and I’ve been following your UA-cam videos for awhile now. I also have a Glowforge Pro which I love working with. Can’t wait to try this technique.
Awesome! Glad you are enjoying my Channel. Thanks for watching.
That turned out really great! I am a GIS Analyst professionally and LOVVVVVE anything map related! Nice work, as always April!
Nice results. I have a cribbage board made the same way.
Awesome! Thanks for watching.
Cool. It almost looks like a Lichtenberg Figure :)
I'm from Temple Texas! Hello!!
Amazing work. Thanks for sharing the video.
Thanks for watching!
Love your videos.
Thank you!
She who dies with the most toys, Wins. LOL. You are amazing, April. 👍
Awesome project. In addition three things I like in the same video: woodworking, April Wilkerson, and LASERS (frikin lasers LOL)
Precioso trabajo. Hermosa combinación de resina y madera. Y no te enojes tanto! A todos nos puede pasar! Jaja!
Abrazo! Cuídate bien! Germán, Montevideo, Uruguay.
So cool thanks for sharing beautiful.
Great one.
Tray came out great. Lasers are great thing to have, but unless you're well off and like play with wood, or you're trying to start a business, which probably wouldn't start with a $6000 laser that I have to learn how to use, or expand your business, it's just a cool tool I wish I had. Already have a CNC router that I haven't quite mastered yet. It would be nice though, and the discount is a good thing!
Fantastic. 10+
I’ve been watching your channel for a long time and had no idea you were at Canyon Lake! I’ve been teaching at Smithson Valley MS for 14 years. Small world!
That is awesome!
nice tray
Love it!
Qué genial es ésa máquina. Puedes hacer infinidades de proyectos. Felicidades. Saludos desde Chile 🇨🇱
🙏🇮🇩🇮🇩
Thanks so much! Great video- had no idea you were up by Canyon Lake- Im down in SA and have made quite a few of your projects or used them as inspiration... and I just ordered my Glowforge and used your code!! Thanks so much!
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know and for watching. :)
Awesome as always (but a wind screen would be helpful)
Love canyon lake and my glowforge! Due for a trip up there.
Cool tray!!!
Nice. Just wish I had a laser machine.
Excelente máquina! y un gran trabajo April! saludos desde México!
Hello friend,, like woodworking 👍👍👍🤝🤝
Espectacular April, pero me da mucha pena que poco a poco, por estas fantasticas máquinas, se esté perdiendo la profesión de muchos oficios, y con ello a los grandes profesionales y grandes maestros----
Great project using the laser engraver April. I noticed in one of your other videos that you had a trotec and I wanna say a universal laser engraver. How do you like those? I got into laser engraving with a Universal Laser system prior to retiring from the military here in Texas but since had to sell due medical issues back in 2016. As a wood hobbyist as well in central Texas in my spare time I have been wanting to get back into engraving. Your thoughts on the Glowforge vs. trotec or universal? Hope you have a great one and keep up the great videos.
Love the tray...thanks to this vid, I now know how to get to the "SHED"...be there soon to visit you and ur mom. BUT, just a suggestion...instead of using screws on the handles, how bout using glued in dowels to secure it....no worries about splitting then. For your mom, I'm her oldest friend on FB.
She is my Monitor and sees all comments. Yes, she knows who you are. :) Thanks for watching and staying along for the ride. :)
Meticulous tray job! April, any Glowforge etchers to detail 4 x 8' plywood? Go big, go Texas!
The Glowforge looks like it'd be very useful for cutting out router templates for flush cutting to. The CNC just seems like it's too big and you have to spend a while fastening things down whilst with the Glowforge you just place in the wood and looks like it's done as fast or faster.
April, you're kidding ! all this time following your videos, then seeing you with the "tool time guys", and you live here in Canyon Lake ! My wife is on her 2nd Silhouette and "hinted" about that Glowforge thingy... hope she doesn't run into you at Brookshire Brothers !! Keep up the good work !
Surprise her! Would make an awesome Birthday, Anniversary or Christmas Gift! Thanks for watching.
wow such amazing works. may i know what liquid do you use at the end as finishing for the product?
I love canyon lake. Didn’t know you were from there
Good old Canyon Lake!
Use to camp there all the time...
Nice job April! Do you think you’ll use the laser to experiment with any more of those wood rings you hung in the shop?
9:47 Grolsch! One of the fine beers coming from The Netherlands 😄 (better than Heineken, imho 😄)
Hell yeah!
Looks amazing, do you recommend any stain which is food safe for plywood? Thanks
Are you changing your video release date from Sunday to Friday April? Or is this a bonus video for this week?
Awesome, did you repurpose the cut-out piece for something?
This is really helpful. I’ve been wondering what to do with my laser.
So the Glowforge requires exhaust ventilation. What do you do with the exhaust?
Came out great! Without a glow forge, you could do a V Carve with a clearance bit and fill it in with epoxy as well
Hello from Dripping Springs, TX! :-)
Hello there!
Wonderful tray. Audio is sometimes distorted having a ‘heavy’ breather or wind hitting the mic. Or am I the only one hearing that? Keep these vlogs coming April. Adore them. ❤️🙏🏼
She records the voiceovers outdoors, I do believe. Either on her porch or out under a tree somewhere (per old Instagram stories).
Looks like "April and the Last Triton" :P haha
