You are 100%right Owen, if you dare to say hello to a stranger in the street in the UK, especially a woman, your lucky if you get an answer, its normally just a dirty look.

One thing that I've observed with Thai friends is that its perfectly ok for them to chat with other Thais. Like strangers. Not a problem. Not weird at at all. They can stop and ask for directions, check where the market is, just have a bit of banter. If you do that is Australia your a weirdo who wants something. Funny old mate calling you fat too. Just so refreshing.

Absolutely, Owen is the only English vlogger that goes out of his way to interact with the thai people and I’m so envious of his grasp of the thai language
I’ve been to Thailand 31 times and I only know very basic thai- this vlogs are a breath of fresh air 🙏☺️🇬🇧

I think it depends where you're from in the UK, up here in the North East we don't seem to have this problem, well not that I have experienced, we're a pretty friendly bunch up this neck of the woods, in my opinion of course.
Yes northern people are more friendly but the teenagers and early 20`s people are not the same more serious humourless etc
Aye! all these Pseudo vids of why older guys like Thailand! All the obvious "honey traps" but they never observe older guys want to mix with Thai in all aspects, as this makes them feel younger & happier not outcasts as in their own country I noticed this years ago while studying Buddhism, Thais are taught to regard the elder in a high esteem from an early age so are always equal Cool vid Owen(Bom Bui)
You are right pal many older guys are looking for friendship and the feeling of belonging. As you get older in the west I think you become more invisible and unimportant to many people around you
