The ironic thing about being humble and kind is that it doesn't cost a thing, yet can be something that can mean the world to someone.
This a great song. Its a reminder that you need to set standards for yourself. Not everyone is Humble or Kind, but don't let that change you. No matter color, religion, or background that there are truths that you can live by.

The woman who wrote the song wrote it as like a prayer for her child/ children. Amazing as a song!
It doesn't matter who you are, anyone, any walk of life, no matter how easy or impossible the journey's been, you will cry hearing this. It's equally hard performing without shedding tears, too. There's so much truth to the lyrics. Always stay humble and kind.

I've tried to live my life this way. Its an awesome song. I was the guy that played all the sports in high school, was the homecoming king, but I never let anyone get bullied, or made fun of. I could always feel that hurt for someone and tried my best to be kind and treat everyone with respect no matter who they were. People are getting way to selfish these days and don't care about others feelings and it drives me crazy. I always find myself comforting someone or giving them an ear to listen to there problems and it's sad that there are so many people who are sad or unhappy
This was written by Lori McKenna about lessons to her 5 kids who range in age. She sings it herself too but she sent it to Tim.
