Great couple, but didn’t have to wait too long for them.
MENTALIST was the first American show I have seen were they confess their love first ( That too in the last season) and then kiss and the rest follows. I appreciate that. It's good to know that people can develop a relationship and fall in love without getting physical first. Most of the shows will have the couple having a kid or two and they will still be wondering if they need to take the relationship further and confess to each other.
it was 6 seasons but it felt like 12. so much drama and tension on that show surrounding red john that it just seemed to stretch out the romance even more
Jane told her without ever expecting a kiss. He spent a lot of years with regret, so for that character, it makes a lot of sense he'd tell her even if it never went further.
I'm in season 5 and so far their relationship has seemed more like brother and sister or strict co-workers. It feels weird that they end up in a romantic situation to me.
True that , Mentalist is undoubtedly the best series; the slow burn romance of Patrick n Teresa is worth a watch ; everyone loved how their relationship evolved

The fact that so so many shows I've loved in my childhood and still LOVE are in there is just amazing, like Castle, The Mentalist, Bones, Lucifer, Gilmore Girls, NCIS. I love this!
Beckett and Castle should be WAY higher on this list! I felt like I waited forever for that one lol.
Mulder and Scully should have been number one. I saw The X Files in the movie. There was a scene where they almost kissed, and the whole movie theatre flipped out. Only time I remembered going to theatre and hearing everyone in the audience freaking out.

Mulder and Scully! There's a reason why the term "shipping" originated from them.
Mulder and Scully never should have happened. I always loved their professionalism and the fact that they were not always on the verge of hooking-up. Television shows don't seem able to put a male and female in a series in just a professional and respectful manner. Mulder and Scully were close, but didn't cross that boundary.
Booth and Brennan had kissed two times before this kiss. The first was mentioned in the flashback in the same episode, before they realised they did not want to jeopardise their partnership. But their Christmas kiss in s3 , when Caroline forces them to kiss under the mistletoe, it was SO ICONIC when she pulls him back in and he ends up with her gum in his mouth 😂😂😂😂😂😍😍😍😍😍. I still think of it as their first kiss honestly
Just re-watched the episode and season three where they kiss under the mistletoe and OMG that is iconic. It's been years since I seen it and their chemistry was just as spicy

OH DS first kiss is so MAGICAL. The ocean, the way Lucifer says he’s not worthy of Chloe while telling her all the things he’s noticed and loved about her, to Chloe being the one in their relationship to make the first move. I still get butterflies every time I watch it 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
And then nothing happens! I think Lucifer runs to Las Vegas and ruins it - so you get a different version of the slow burn all over again for another season or two. I thought that worked really well. The final scene in "Detective Amenadiel" where Chloe confesses her feelings is one of my favorite romantic scenes... then one more wait for one more episode for the passion! Really loved it.

One long awaited kiss that we will never get is between Eames and Goren on Criminal Intent. Another one is between Garcia and Morgan on Criminal Minds. Finally we thought we got one on Evil between Kristin and David, but the King's put an unexpected twist on that one( do'nt want to give a spoiler, watch the show)!
8:56 finally The Mentalist getting some sort of recognition. And storywise it made a lot of sense. Patrick Jane could not let himself be in something meaningful until he stopped Red John. After that, it was only a matter of courage and opening up to Teresa Lisbon. Because he was letting himself go somewhere that he had not been for a long, long time. And Teresa was so hell bent on making sure Jane not crossing the lines during the Red John search, that she knew she had to have some distance. But their tension was palpable from Season 1 and it was the finale of Season 4 that gave a us a bit of a hint.
Mulder and Scully should get number one. Just watch the first episode and how they stand three inches from one another's face with their mouths parted. They kept that tensión for EIGHT SEASONS before DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT! Some of us barely made it out alive.
Personally, I think it went too long. I used to ship them, but I'd stopped watching long before they got together.
Deckerstar should be higher!!!! That kiss was what fans and Ella Lopez wanted for a long time

@@levindeed Absolutely. They had insane chemistry from the start when she was one of only a few people who could tell he was lying. Then those two on the beanstalk was ridiculous how much chemistry there was. I was waiting for it to happen from then, so that's 23 episodes, and for those of us that watched it live, we had to wait a week for each new episode (And often 2 or 3 weeks between.) Then we had winter break before the second half of season 2, and then the entire summer hiatus before season three, and then we had to get 5 episodes in for the kiss. So it was over a year. and then we had to wait an entire season for them to actually get together. It was so much waiting. Adam and Eddy were masters of the carrot dangling.

Awesome to see Fitzsimmons finally make a list! Philinda actually took longer (4-5 seasons), but Fitzsimmons definitely felt longer 😅. Kind of bummed not to see Shawn and Juliet on here, it took them four and a half seasons to kiss!

This list appears to be missing Buffy and Spike. I know their first kiss was because of a spell, and they were a toxic couple along the way. But it felt like such a long wait.
Despite the toxic issues, I was actually always team Spike over team Angel. Spike loved her when he didn’t have a soul. That chip didn’t have to stop him from being totally evil, but it ended up mostly doing so. His realization that he messed up when he tried to rape Buffy, prompting him to face any challenge in order to retrieve his soul… I don’t remember Angelus even being capable of that!
@@kait6994 yes, this! Given that to begin with, Spike was evil, he still developed feelings for her. And while being a conniving villain, he still was generally honest and direct in his communication. He treated her with respect. Took care of her sister when she was gone, based only on a promise, while still having no soul. He was always there for her when she struggled. He understood her dark sides, and depression, and didn't judge her or think less of her for it. He stood up for her when she alienated her friends, buckling under pressure. He challenged her when she needed challenging and called her out on her BS when she needed calling out. He provided a safe space for her, when she didn't want to face the world.
Dude had plenty issues, and on his own, he's not a morally sound character, but the one thing about both of them is they made each other better.

Deckerstar's kiss should be lower it was so beautiful, the build up, the way Lucifer was unknowingly listing off the qualities of the person Chloe deserves not knowing it's actually him and you can see the raw emotions and awe on his face when Chloe takes the step and kisses him, the way her eyes shine when she looks at him after..it's so mesmerizing and full of love. Their chemistry and the sexual tension was evident throughout the episodes and we were DYINGGG for this kiss
Honestly I remember seeing lucifer for the first time and shipping them pretty much straight away lol. The build up to that kiss was a long one (I'd sit there through each episode hoping it'd happen lmao) but it was perfect so it's nice that they waited :)

Glad to see The X-Files on here! From what I remember, Chris Carter didn't want to make the mistake Moonlighting did by making the leads get into a relationship too soon, thereby killing the tension for the audience and losing viewers. I think Gillian Anderson did want them to get on with it sooner even though DD and GA weren't the closest at the time.

DD and GA said to hell with it and wrote “The Unnatural” “Hollywood AD” and “All Things.” Those 3 episodes ramped the chemistry up to 11!
I think Moonlighting could have worked, they just handled the aftermath badly, with both leads needing time away straight afterwards. Maybe wait another year until both leads were free. X-Files made the opposite mistake - too long a wait. I shipped Mulder/Scully so badly, but I'd stopped watching by the time they kissed. Castle got the timing perfect - end of season 4.
I miss Oliver and Felicity from Arrow on the list. And Castle would deserve more than 18th place. ;-)

Fitzsimmons!!!! Wasn't expecting to see them on here cause I rarely see Agents of Shield mentioned outside of it's fandom, but I'm so happy they are 😄😄 everyone could see it from the beginning, the chemistry they had, and all the things they went through, it felt like such a long awaited kiss.
Also, I'm so glad Tony and Ziva are mentioned here too! I was hoping to see them, considering, it took Ziva leaving for them to actually get together, and having me currently being on a binge watch of NCIS.

10:53 it set up Season 6 perfectly, and seeing Brennan being depressed in the early part of Season 6 because she knew that she made a big mistake by letting Booth go in Season 5 was great character development because she was forced to confront feelings that she never wanted to and realised how alone she was. They could not even have their post case drink session together because Booth was seeing someone else and was drifting more and more apart from Temperance.

Long before these was David and Maddie on Moonlighting. There were others before them but they defined the "will they/won't they" genre. There were other reasons for the show's decline, but unfortunately when they got together the magic of the show was greatly diminished.
I think it might have worked if they both hadn't needed time off right afterwards. They should have waited one more season, until both leads were free. Since then, a lot of shows have made the opposite mistake - drag it out until it gets boring. Castle got the timing just right - end of season 4 - and so did Gilmore Girls (also end of season 4, so that seems to be the sweet spot.)

These might be older but what about Moonlighting (Cybil Shepard and Bruce Willis), and Remington Steele (Pierce Brosnan and Stepanie Zimbalist). Couple of classics. Of course like most shows once the protagonists kiss it's all over.
My first thought was also Remington Steele. Although I think that one doesn't quite fit as well with this video's theme. If I remember correctly, they actually do share occasional kisses pretty early on, they just don't begin an official relationship until much later in the series.

I would have also loved to have seen Mac and Harm from JAG, or Woody and Jordan from Crossing Jordan, or Walker and Alex and Gage and Sydney from Walker Texas Ranger, or Sam and Jules from Flashpoint, or Jack and Sam from Stargate SG-1, or Jack and Kate from LOST, or Angela and Tony from Who’s the Boss, or Chachi and Joanne (I think I spelt her name wrong) from Happy Days, Mary-Margaret and David from Once Upon A Time, Laura and Almonzo from Little House on the Prairie, I can go on.
The truth is not a lot of people know about these amazing shows from other people’s childhood, and whoever made this list probably doesn’t know about them either, and another possibility the fact that there are so many other amazing first kisses and great kisses from tv shows.
