The knight isn’t actually a bug, it’s a soulless being made out of a liquid substance called “void”. The collector and all the other vessels are made of the same stuff too.
The vessels where made by letting void enter bug eggs(from the pale king and the white lady) and hollow out the bugs in the egg, they look like bugs because they are the exoskeletons/shells of bugs, hollowed out and filled with void

I feel like you should've made the knight be more like a child, something like a creepy little thing barely holding itself up yet being able to move scarily well kind of thing.

This was great. I love the redesigns, especially Divine's. A part 2 would be great. I am head over heels for the designs of Hollow Knight characters and would enjoy seeing more human versions.

Since the main character is viewed not as a warrior but as a Wanderer, wearing light armour makes perfect sence for him. What makes no sence, however, is heavy leg armour. First, a walking wanderer has to move his legs quite a lot, so heavy leg armour will tire him out pretty quickly. Secondly, a foot soldier doesn't need leg protection that much, since most attacks on him usually come from the front (by other foot soldiers) or from above (by riders) - not from below. Because of that, protecting upper half of the body for an afoot warrior would be way more important than protecting legs. The same goes for Hornet as well. It were riders who usually used heavy leg protection. Since they didn't walk they legs didn't get tired that mich, and them getting attacked from below (by foot soldiers) was highly probable, so leg protection was extremely important for them.
The "Nail" is a sword not a lance, in spite of the surface level design and name. The name is actually a literary reference, in old english texts, swords were also called "Nails". In addition you can't slash with a lance, beat maybe, but not slash, also the nail is described as having a bladed edge, and upgrading it once, its name is called the "Sharpend Nail" and talking to sly after upgrading it, he comments on it being "honed" meaning sharpend. And lastly, almost all armed characters in the game are carrying nails, the nail masters, Sly, Quirrel, and so on, but, theres one enemy that has a lance as a weapon, "The Lanced sentry" so, lances and nails are separate weapons
Remember: The Knight can’t be the Pale King reincarnated, because the Knight is made of Void, a substance that eats away soul and uses it to create a form of Void. All of the vessels lack soul of their own due to the Void, so if the Pale King tried to turn himself into a vessel he would fail as he is a Higher Being made up of soul, and as such he would essentially be committing spiritual suicide or worse, turning himself into a massive Void monstrosity that wants to eat all living things. Even if the Knight was the Pale King, everything that the Pale King was in spirit would be gone thanks to the Void.

you have drawn two of the siblings as human, now do the hollow knight, and Quarrel, and Tiso. please. They should all be fairly simple, expessally Tiso and the Hollow Knight, long tall slim things they are.
I love that for the armored characters you take inspiration from real armors, like the ghosts greaves l, sabatons and helmet. Althoug at the 3:00 minute mark, the left helmet is not a historical helmet, but its fine to draw referance from. I also saw that you took the segmented style of the bugs and turned it into leather armor. Maybe for a heavier character *cough* thehollowknight *cough* you could take a look at some polish hussar armor, or italian laminated armors. I also feel that maximillian/gothic style armors would slot nicely into hollowknight. Great video, and fantastic art!
The Knight probably shouldn't be having its fingers exposed as as the cloak and armor would be the container for what is essentially nothingness/shadow/the end made manifest.
Oh, btw hornet has eight limbs. These look great but personally i would have made the knight's armour a really dark grey, as it would emulate the whole simplistic buggy style of the game
armor fact: light armor was gamberson/linen basically course cloth that basically interacts with itself like velcro making it resistant to slashes, and with it being fairly thick, i also dampens blunt force (usually better than plate armor), it is frequently reinforced with chainmail to deal with piercing attacks leather was actually never used since it's an awkward in-between of cloth and metal armor having most of their downsides with little of their upsides and "studded leather" is actually type of armor where outer layer is just cloth with a series of small metal plates riveted to it's inside layer, making it slightly weaker than plate armor, but way cheaper

I get what you mean, it was just when I made the first 2 I was thinking the designs should be more realistic but I realized that it’s somewhat boring so with the next part I’m just having fun with things 👍
7:30 I truly love the final result of Divine, but I would have imagined a more seductive design cuz literally all of her sentences are ambiguous, maybe lying on the side on some pillows, in reference of its big body, and for the upper part, nothing to add, you nailed it !
great drawings over all but their "Faces" are actually called masks! not all bugs wear masks like the maggots or the bees in the hive or spiders in deepnest. so giving the mask wearing bugs from hollow knight is decently on point!
A strong first impression, to be sure. Since enemy designs are on the table, I feel like suggesting some of the more horror-themed enemies, such as the Mistakes and Follies found in the Soul Sanctum. Those misshapen abominations could look really unsettling as humans. The Broken Vessel would also work for this, given the GAPING HOLE on the back of their head where the Infection enters to reanimate it. Would be interesting to see that massive blob get this treatment. Food for morbidly curious thought, I suppose.

As a child of the pale king and white lady, the knight is more likely a wasp/tree. Because the way the pale king was born from the corpse of a giant wyrm/worm likens to the nature of a parasitic wasp, and the white lady is a tree.
I think it's funny how he talks about hollow Knight like he knows it but then completely messes up with the main character is😂😂😂. I'm not trying to be mean but that's funny.

Some of the more exposed helmets had a bill above the eyes, providing lots of protection. Only thrusts maybe could get in.

the weapon (nail) is not round, it has more of a diamond cross section
i think it couldv been really cool if you just made the main character have a huge cloak instead that covers his body from view
