Charlton Athletic is an English professional football club based at the heart of south-east London. The club was founded in June 1905 by a group of local teenagers and has a very storied history from rising to the top-flight of English football in the 1930s (First Division) and again in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, to winning the FA Cup in 1947 and leaving The Valley in the mid-1980s only to make an impassioned return in 1992.
Currently competing in the third tier of English football, Sky Bet League One, the club has enjoyed many periods of success over the years.
On April 26th, 1947, Charlton Athletic enjoyed one of its finest hours when the club beat Burnley 1-0 at Wembley Stadium to win the FA Cup for the first time in its history. Since then, the club has gone on to achieve success at Wembley Stadium on two further occasions. The first came when Charlton were crowned First Division play-off final winners in 1997/98, securing a dramatic penalty shootout win against Sunderland in one of the most historic fixtures ever played at the stadium, with the sides level at 4-4 after extra-time. More recently, the Addicks claimed victory over Sunderland once again in May 2019 as Patrick Bauer’s 94th-minute strike fired the club back into the Championship.

Atmosphere was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Not sure that Jones is at fault here. Just an awful error and terrible defending for their equaliser. A point each was a fair result in the end. On to the next. COYR.

Sad to see 3 points lost and again Gillesphy at the root of it. He passes well and with accuracy but niave and flat-footed in defence and too often.

It goes to show our standards for this team. Last season, we would've taken a draw at Blackpool. Gillesphey needs to sort himself out. I haven't seen him perform consistently well at the club. We move on, though. Stevenage is a must win if we want to nab a play off place, COYRRRR!!!!

Have to buy/ loan more pace up top by close of window. TC can’t play every minute and we have no options with pace when he’s off the pitch. Has to be addressed because TC and Small remain our only consistent attacking threats. Injury to either makes us one dimensional and predictable.

Jones has no depth to pick from. What happened in the
Jan transfer window and the promise of someone to bolster our squad?
That being said Leaburn should have come on 15 mins before he did. Aneke has the pace and stamina of a year old lady

we need to bench gillesphey, and maynard. there not key players. mitchell and mannion will do a better job gillesphey never puts a foot in and when he does they just get past him. maynard is a good goal keeper but he can mess up a lot
