The music industry is super hard to break into. Success is usually based on who you know and sheer chance by being in the right place at the right time. Lots of super talented musicians don't make it. One friend of mine is one of the best looking guys on the planet with a voice to match. His problem is he wasn't ambitious enough to make it when he had the chance. Another friend was super ambitious and ended up playing for Disney for 5 years. He's been published in guitar books and magazines and has a lot of other impressive credentials, yet in spite of all of that he's living at the poverty line today. My point isn't to discourage anyone. Musicians who are really determined should follow their dream, but they also need to be aware that to be in the Arts is an uphill battle and it's only going to get harder with AI. They don't call us "starving artists" for nothing. Another friend of mine has an executive position with Warner Bros. Records and he said they get thousands of demos sent to them every month. The competition is fierce. You have to have the look, the following, and exceptional music, and even then there are no guarantees. So it's always a good idea to have Plan B just in case. I self taught myself french, italian and russian. Being a spaniard it amazes me how closed you are to learning another languagues. Each one opens different doors in your head and opportunities.
