Another good informative video. Amazing the similarities and the differences on colors between Ontario and Michigan. You've fished both I'm sure, do you feel it's water clarity?
@@RussellsFishingTech I have to get better at keeping my log. So hard to remember at the end of the day or season the specifics of what, where and when you run certain baits and their productivity.
How deep do flies work in the summer once the salmon go DEEP? Talking past 50' feet or so? Here in Pierre SD. are salmon can get down to a 100' or so once the water warms up. Doubt the salmon can't see colors at that depth!
Yes they do. We fish vancouver island, and have been very successful. The thing we noticed on our trip last week, was that most the fish being caught were smaller, in the teens. There were also lots of shakers, and then the odd larger salmon were slowly showing up. We were catching on our various typical lures. But when we changed to these, all we caught were upper-sized fish then, zero shakers and not even the lower teens either.
Sgh up with a aqua wizard or mercy uv on a 100-150 copper is a killer combo early. doughboy behind white blades and wonder wolverine with my buddy Jeremiah straight up slaughtered fish in the rain and fog one trip last year middle of the day

Before Poseidon shut down, Milwaukee minnow put more big kings in the box than any other fly in our box. Highly recommend that fly is 🔥
Great stuff. What fly would you use when water cools in the upper column when kings are staging. What would you do after lake flips?

Maybe it's a lake Ontario thing but we have had aqua fly on a green or chartreuse paddle with fireworks tape dominant our spread on many days.
Maybe but also just might be something we don’t try enough here
Great info. I might have missed it but did you talk about the Green Willy? Time of year and flasher combo?
July/August fly turned out to be one of the hottest flies from Port Washington south this year on Lake Michigan

Russell, do put a bead in front of the fly or insert a plastic bullet head or do you run them as is? Thanks
Where you use the FF/ fly would be helpful ie dipsy or downrigger or lead core.
You can run them on any setup
Just a quick question, what are some of the upcoming topics?
We have tons and tons coming

We fish flies all the way down past 100’ with success
Does this fly work on Pacific Northwest? I seldom heard people talk about this kind of fly over here?
I haven't had a chance to go there and try it myself but they work everywhere on the Great Lakes

When your talking about blades, are you talking about Dodgers? Seems you use Flashers most of the time.
