    Nathan had no right to tell Clay and Quinn to quit seeing each other, they honestly have a great connection and Clay even did so much for Nathan as his agent

    I Don’t think an agent is allowed to negotiate a deal for a non-client but it’s a nice moment 😂

    Even though seasons 7-9 get crapped on a lot, I loved the friendship between Nate and Clay.

    Did Nathan and Haley say sorry?

      If this is about the failure of the contract renewal negotiations faced by Nathan due to Clay's negligence (in episode 7x10), I don't think Nathan and Haley owed an apology to Clay.

      @@107mainavenue Yes they did, they most definitely owed him an apology. Nathan had no right to tell Clay to not see Quinn as they were both adults. He didn't need his permission to see his sister in law and Quinn was someone for Clay as he found love again.

      @@CapricornGilbertYou missed the point why Nathan had issues with Clay seeing Quinn. Clay's job as Nathan's agent was to renew his Bobcats contract earlier as another NBA season was approaching. Clay's love life wouldn't be a problem had he accomplished his job first.

      @@lenardrosit8896 I understood where Nathan was coming as he wanted Clay to only stay focus on helping him as his agent but also I’m saying Nathan had no right to tell Clay what to do as he and Quinn already intended seeing each other whether if he liked it or not. Clay has done so much for Nathan from the very beginning as he made sure he and his family would he taken care of as Nathan and Haley wouldn’t where they are if Clay hadn’t done his part. He was also trying to get Nathan something more long term that he thought he deserved better instead of something temporary and Clay hid skeletons of what happened to his wife as he was still grieving.

      @@CapricornGilbert Sure Nathan and Clay are friends, but let's not forget they have an existing business relationship. Clay is still expected to do his job competently. Nathan wasn't dictating Clay who he wants to date, the act of concern from Nathan revolved around Clay hooking up with various women and he feared Quinn might end up as another fling. Quinn was also going through a divorce (which was poorly handled by her as she simply left her then-husband baffled without properly stating her reasons for divorcing him other than the falling out of love angle) so her and Clay hooking up may seem inappropriate. As for Nathan and Haley, those two were not aware of Clay being a widower, so their perception of Clay is based on what they've seen and observed.

    Truthful Nathan had no right telling Clay not to see Quinn, it made sense for him to find love again as Quinn moved on from David. Being an agent is a lot of work and Clay did a lot for Nathan as he put his ass on the line for him day and night cause agents have a lot on their agenda which is 10x more serious than being an athlete that dribbles a ball. Clay deserved so much better

      The problem with your defense of Clay is that in one of the previous episodes he actually didn't do his job properly when he failed to sign Nathan up for a new Bobcats contract. Being the client, Nathan had the right to question his agent for not focusing on his job, hence why Nathan had issues with Clay dating Quinn at that time.

      @@lenardrosit8896 Clay may have lost focused yet his interest at heart showed how much he wanted to get Nathan for him to have. He was working on having Nathan on a more permanent basis on the team instead of a two year contract that wasn’t any good and in the end he was able getting him back on the team with a lot more money that was offered for him. You know Clay isa workaholic, right? As a Nathan’s agent he was always on the phone making tons of calls setting up a ton of stuff he had to arrange so I can’t be mad Clay went and did something for himself for once especially after knowing he lost his wife.

      @@CapricornGilbert What Nathan instructed Clay is to renew his Bobcats contract (in episode 7x11) before a new NBA season is set. After all, time is of the essence. What's important is Nathan gets to play (I bet Nathan will agree with a contract that can allow him to play in the Bobcats permanently), but what went wrong is Clay's inability to concentrate because he preferred to spend more time with Quinn, therefore it left an negative impression to Nathan (after temporarily losing his Bobcats spot) his agent prioritized his dating life over his obligations. Also, Nathan did not know Clay was going through a tough time due to his wife's untimely death. To be fair with Clay, he admitted he screwed up and wanted to fix things for Nathan, but as a consequence, he got fired. So if Clay is really a workaholic who prioritized Nathan's career first, they wouldn't have that problem. Clay also should've been honest with Nathan on what personal issues he was going through.

    • @CapricornGilbert
      @CapricornGilbert 8 місяців тому

      @@lenardrosit8896 he was renewing to stay on the Bobcat but apparently shit got screwed that went the opposite direction. Clay screwed up one time which shouldn’t be a big deal either way Nathan and Haley wouldn’t have gotten where they are without Clay’s help knowing he did make sure they were all taken care of living in that big house. Still I’m saying what I think, Nathan had no right telling Clay, a grown man to not see Quinn and she told Nathan the same thing as they are both adults who wanted to spend time together. Nobody can cut Clay any slack especially knowing part of him was grieving for the loss of his wife Sarah and when he told Nathan about her that’s was the first apology he ever gave to Clay.

    • @lenardrosit8896
      @lenardrosit8896 8 місяців тому

      @@CapricornGilbert It was a big deal for Nathan because he observed that Clay could not set his client's priorities straight because of his commitment to Quinn. After all, it is business. Nathan and Haley also did not know about Clay's marriage to Sara and her untimely death since Clay never discussed his private life. Nathan's concern about Clay and Quinn's romance was due to Clay having past flings with other girls, and Quinn might end up as another fling for Clay. Not to mention, as Quinn was going through a divorce, seeing her jumping into another relationship may seemed inappropriate. I understand that Quinn left David because she doesn't love him anymore, but she still handled the divorce poorly due to her just leaving him and made it appear he is at fault for their marriage ending due to him having a steady and well-paid job. As for Quinn's role in the misunderstanding between Clay and Nathan, she had a lapse in judgment by telling Nathan to go easy on Clay (she meddled in things she had no business of), and in reaction to Clay getting fired, Quinn lambasted and guilt-tripped Haley by saying Nathan "deserved" to lose his NBA career because he didn't respect Clay as a person.
