I absolutely love this version, extreme talent going on, retired trumpet player here, Maynard was and still is my hero of the trumpet I'm also a huge fan of Eric and Wayne. Also....Senri - such a powerful drummer.
A great song originally performed by a true legend of big band and trumpet. A combination that is hard to improve on but I think you all did. Wayne, Eric, Louis and of course Senri! Plus all the others, a true ALL STAR band. Thanks for this fantastic arrangement and performance.
I'm a trumpet player but the drummer got my attention big time. Absolutely marvelous interpretation of an almost 50 year old oldie of Maynard Ferguson.
Really nice adaptation to Give it One. Very fresh change to a standard that needed a updated boost. Really nice accompaniment sections, they’ve got some meat written in there.
Hey all, nice update to this jazz-rock classic! It seems like just yesterday that I met you both at Stratospheric in LA. Hard to believe that it's been 17 years!!! Eric, my daughter has been living in Japan for the last 3 years. We're hoping to finally get to visit her in March. Maybe I can come see you play - not sure if you remember me. I was "RhythmDoctor" on the MF Forum.
I disagree. I like it at the tempo of this group. A Russian group did it well a few years ago (can't remember their names) but it was too slow. The album that Maynard did with this song on it (again, can't remember the name) was also at a fantastic tempo. Maynard is the reason I pushed myself into the upper registers when I was young. I now play on Lynn Nicholson's personal mouthpiece and it has put me exactly where I want to be in terms of range.
Listen, i don't think anyone can beat the original recorded version that Maynard did with his British band. But this arrangement (re-imagining) and performance is outstanding. The 2 soloists are great....I love the way Eric snuck in Maynard licks and solo quotes. And the drummer rocks! I listened to this more than a few times. So much better that Maynard's so called coked-up video where they were trying to get it over in 2 minutes! That's a march to hell.....😂
Love the fresh rendition of a MF classic, trying to copy the original was getting boring. Does't compete with the classic, but this arrangement is funky and fresh!
LOVE this arrangement!!!!! WOW! ....I have become big fan of WayneB. ....and of EricM's....when I first saw Eric I thought he was strictly a MF tribute guy.....a MF wannabe....BUT WOW.....MAD skills!!! Great clarity....love his tone! Wayne makes it look so easy! LOL...WHATA Duo!
I greet Tuesday morning thinking that the UA-cam world, like a backpacking trip alone on a wide, wide desert, is the happiness of my life. While I was browsing the UA-cam window with a fluttering heart, a mysterious algorithm that I did not know accidentally led me to this place. You have the ability to make your videos instantly stunning and attractive. I would like to thank the algorithm that made it possible to watch good videos, and I hope that you will succeed as you have worked hard for your dreams. Whether it's a coincidence or a relationship according to the algorithm, a video of you suddenly appeared on my UA-cam window this morning, and I'm watching your video like a dream. As you try to achieve success on UA-cam, there are only a lot of difficulties, but you can only achieve it if you always make a firm resolve that you will do it again someday. Your video makes my heart flutter because I have a feeling that it will receive a lot of love soon. I liked your video, especially because it was impressive and natural.
If you listen to all the covers of this track, then the best will still be the performance of the street band , "Future Corps", perhaps only the original can be better than their performance.
I think some parts are just too clean ( probably just Mr Burgeron’s solo style no disrespect), the overall tempo feels a little slow just for what this song is supposed to embody, overall still a master piece nonetheless just my personal thoughts in comparison with the original and how in your face it was as compared to this, which is a lot more gradual
I have been a Maynard fan since 1970. Amazing and keep it going!
Beautiful change of pace rendition, love the more funky feel. And Eric, Wayne and Louis? It don't get no better than that!
The high F to D to Bb to G lick had me feeling chills. For trumpet players that's G to E to C to A.
I absolutely love this version, extreme talent going on, retired trumpet player here, Maynard was and still is my hero of the trumpet I'm also a huge fan of Eric and Wayne. Also....Senri - such a powerful drummer.
Absolutely CRUSHING playing and chart!!
I seriously cannot think of enough adjectives that would be remotely good enough to describe this INCREDIBLE amalgamation of talent!!! Whoa!!!
Senri is the bomb and love this new half time approach to start and then to cut time.

Nice tribute to Maynard in the last solo by Eric - outstanding
This piece is just superb 👌 a specially drummer- she is just 💯 ٪ all in...great job all!

Wow. Love the fresh new arrangement of a great Maynard standard. Great job Eric on the arrangement and everyone else for the performance!
Agree, not charged a lot but a great freshen up.

Or “Bochawa”
Thanks very much for this video 😎
Holy smokes!
Maynard Ferguson RE-Imagined!
I would pay rockstar-level ticket prices to see this live! Hope springs eternal for a post-pandemic world...
I've seen this band live. Well worth it. You haven't lived until you've heard Senri play Teen Town.
Solid! Thank you for sharing this!
I love this new arrangement and exemplary performances from everyone. Thank you.
かっこいい
20年以上前にお会いして、真横で演奏をお聞きしましたが、その頃と全くお変わりないですね

I like the arrangement but nothing beats breakneck speed, coke'd up maynard playing it. Love you guys
Coked the fuck up indeed!!!

Needs more basstrombone.... but i like the feel and musical intention. Great line up and playing!
Yeah I was also thinking it needed bass bone and more bari in the mix
気分爽快です!嫌な事忘れられそうです!エリックミヤシロさんアレンジですか?

Eric kicked it up with a little more flair. Still needed more!
The arrangement should have been supercharged a little bit.
NIZZ
Can you please tell me, the name of the flugelhorn ur playing?
Maynard is smiling his ass off right now.. You guys are awesome. So tasty

Nice! Why didn’t you give that great trombonist a solo? That’s a lot of talent wasted.
I hear you .It is what it is .
It’s a piece written to feature a trumpet duet. Duh
@@VoodooDewey69 what! You’re kidding…..lol!
Virtuosic but a bit soul-less compared to the original - my favorite Maynard track which I used to play to get me out of bed in college.
