I love this, I will be buying this pack. Thank you for making it so user friendly. I know the basic ps retouching techniques but I can definitely use this.
Excellent tutorial, can't wait to use the techniques on my future projects. I like the simplicity and the fact that this method is very fast, compared to other techniques involving d&b which take way too much time. Clients are paying less and less these days and it's good to find better workflows that take less time to finish and still get perfect results. Hats off to you sir.
Hello Erjon! Thank you so much for your detailed explanation - your work is really stunning! Just bought the retouch and CG bundle and love it - only one thing, when using the CG Actions it has some mistakes and there are many layer occurring outside the group (different then in your video) is there maybe a link to the CG actions again where this is fixed? Thank you! And thank you for your really great work!
I watched this video so many times and there are missing pieces. Like how can I create the dodge and burn layers? Or how can I overlay my texture over my low frequency to look right. It’s a good video but it left me with so many questions
If you're trying to learn retouching and using frequency separation this isn't the simplest video to do so even though the guy know his work. Especially when using the mixer brush. For those learning frequency and retouching try looking at a beginner tutorial which will be more helpful. This is more of an advance retouching video. It's not beginner nor intermediate.
Amazing tutorial, really appreciate your knowledge! What was the reason for having two identical low frequency layers, is the top one a 'clipping mask?' and if so, what benefit does working on the clipping mask layer have over working on the original ?
Hi Zondaa, thank you for your kind words , the reason why I create ( identical low frequency layers ) is because that If I do something wrong on the 2nd layer, I Can always go back to the original, the 2nd reason why I do that is because sometime I use mixer brush way to much , and when I do that I reduce the apacity of the layer so I will remain with the retouch and some originality of the portait or the photography. If you didn't totally understood I would gladly help you throught this process in a 15 min 1on1 online lesson.
@@ErjonSopaj Wow Thankyou for being so helpful, that makes a lot of sense! So when you added the frequency separation action and selected your Gaussian blur radius to apply the action and the layers appeared, if you work on the second/top low frequency layer and make lots of adjustments, and then something goes wrong, surely if you go back to the other low frequency layer below, this will erase all of your adjustments regardless? I hope this makes sense! I’m just trying to work out the reasoning as I have always been confused by clipping masks etc! Thankyou and I have subbed ❤
Sooc is ( straight out of camera ) file, which means its the original file to check a before and after, about actions they are being used all over the world now and no one ever had an issue working with them, I would gladly give you 1h of 1on1 where I can help and guide you to work with them, just email me on erjonssopaj@gmail.com or dm me on instagram.com/erjon.jpg
Can you please tell me, why the color grade actions are currently not available for some of the layers when I hit play action? For example color lookup layer doesnt work and the end result doesnt look like yours in the Video :(
Hello, great tutorial! When you were doing color blending with a mixing brush tool in FS, where you using alt key to copy a place where you wanted to get a color from? or you where just clicking your pen and brushing over a face, never used a mixing brush tool, have no clue how they work. 😅
No I don't use Alt Key, I use only plen with sliding it from right to left, from down to up, and this way I mix or blend the colors together, I use Alt Key When I am cleaning on the Texture and for this part I use Clone Stamp tool by copy paste the texture with the Alt Key, Hope you understand my Answer lol, If not Dm me on isntagram or email me, I will gladly Help.
Please can I ask a question here.. Please what is the principle behind to setting your blur values in the color layer in your frequency separation technique.. If I Want to retain high textures of my image is by setting my blur values in my color layer high or lower?
The higher the blur values the more textures you will retain or have in the image . The lower your blur values the more smooth your skin will be less textures.
what color did you use for the mix brush?? I tried black and white but that only darkened the image so I picked a color from the skin and worked from there. But I have no idea how you managed to use a clear brush?
Can you try reducing the intensity of the saliva sounds in your audio? It's a bit uncomfortable since I always use headphones to watch videos. I'd suggest tasking your mic a bit further and then speaking louder than usual to compensate for the distance.
I am sorry about that, It wasn’t gum chewing it was my dry mouth, I had a really bad microphone when I recorded this video tutorial, please watch some of latest video tutorials, I have a professional mic now, thanks for the comment and sorry again for the bad sound.

Simply use the doge and burn technique. And after that if you feel texutre need to be bit smooth use frequency separation 👍
The higher the blur values the more textures you will retain or have in the image . The lower your blur values the more smooth your skin will be less textures.
