Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out new videos every week! We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

Alot of people have been asking for a link to the capsule machine. I ordered it on Amazon YEARS ago and when I went to add the link to our Amazon shop, it appears that Amazon no longer allows them to be sold on their website. I have seen them in local health food stores and other places online. Just do a search for Capsule Filling Machine and I’m sure you will be able to find one very similar. - Kevin

True story. The only one I know of that’s worse was when I was at Itasca Biology Station in northern Minnesota. A couple of city kids decided to have a midnight tryst by the shore. No blankets. No bug repellent. They chose a patch of poison ivy, and the blood sucking bugs ate them alive. There was not one square inch ANYWHERE on either body that escaped. The next day, they were covered with calamine and walking like parentheses to avoid touching themselves. They were the lesson for everyone else.

One of our sales reps came into the office for a company function and spotted them. He snapped one up and jammed it in his mouth and said how much he loved hot peppers. Within about 20 minutes, one of his eyes was almost swollen shut. He had rubbed his eye when it started watering from the heat. Personally, I just like the flavor and the people I was working with began to appreciated it as well.

I love spicy food. My favorite one is habanero. The fruity, floral flavor is amazing. Also like, last of the season, red jalapeños. They get meatier and sweeter late in the season😊. Try smoking some then dry them. The bomb! You can rehydrate them then run thru a food mill to make a killer chili sauce

I have that little vacuum pump to seal rice, pinto beans, split peas, and lentils into jars. It keeps everything fresh and bugless. I take out as much as I need for one batch, then vacuum seal the jar and put the jar and the pump kit back in the kitchen cabinet. I use it at least once a week. Ever since I bought it I have not seen even one bug in anything I have put in those jars. Thank you both for featuring the kit in your videos.

If you are just doing this for maximum capsaicin I'd recommend growing some capsicum baccatum species (the family that habeneros are in). They grow much larger and produce more peppers than capsicum annuum (jalapenos, cayenne, etc), and the peppers also have much more capsaicin in them.

In the seventies my mother took cayenne supplements. As a family, we frequently went camping the week of the opening of fishing season, and my mother would make a pot of chili for the first night of setting up camp. The year she started cayenne suppliments, she made the chilli too spicy for the rest of the family to eat. I don't know if the way you take the cayenne suppliments effects the way you taste food, and cook, but my mother had a bit of adjusting to do.

Doc Jones from the homegrown herbalist school of botanical medicine said that if he could have only one herb in his arsenal, it would be cayenne tincture. He said he has saved more lives with it than any other. When he has animals going into shock, not waking up from surgery, losing consciousness, or not getting going after birth, it works like a miracle. Great for emergencies.

I love that y’all are using God’s Pharmacy for your medicine. And I love even more that you are not only willing to share it on your platform, but you share how to grow, process and encapsulated cayenne. 👍🏼 Thank you !!
Another FYI to add to the fantastic medical properties of cayenne, is:
    1. 1 capsule along with 1 capsule of garlic taken 3X’s a day with meals will lower your blood pressure and may even get you off of any BP medication.
    2. Cayenne powder mixed into enough honey to make a paste, then applied to a melanoma will burn the cancer off. I used that mixture to remove a nickel sized melanoma from the back of my husband’s neck. That was years ago so I really can’t remember how long the process took. But I did bandage it at night to keep it from rubbing off onto the pillow.
    3. The powder can be sprinkled on your garden or flower beds to keep young kittens from using that dirt as their litter box. Lol 😂 Little buggers didn’t like it much either. (That trick saved my raised bed garden this year… not to mention the hides on these little “darlings”!)
Once again, great video and very helpful content. ❤

I grew two cayenne plants this year and I’m very excited to hear how healthful they are. Mine are doing really well, although they’re a bit behind yours in ripeness. Still have plenty of time because mine are also in a greenhouse. Were7A
