Hi Marty, What a great share! I recently came to know about several attractive plans offered by HostGator, and I have been thinking about using their services in my next project. Some of my friends use it, and they have recommended it to me as well. After watching your video, I have a better understanding of how the process will work, and I think I will be able to install WordPress on HostGator without errors. Thanks a lot for sharing this, it was a great help.
Thx Martie for easy installation. I noticed there are some plugins already there and some need to be updated. Should I worry about these? especially the SEO.
Hey Muwaffaq, I hope you're well! In regards to your question, I would definitely recommend updating any outdated plugins (and themes). It probably won't affect your SEO too much, but can affect the security of your site. I would also recommend deleting any plugins you don't use as well. I hope this helps! Martie
Great share, I like the clear way you step through the process. Do you have the same step by step for the resellers install with WHM, to establish the c-panel through a word press install?
Hey great video, but I am not able to access the website or the admin page, because "this site can not be reached". Do you know what could be the problem?
Sorry, I am only seeing this now! Was this a new account you just set up, or was the domain name from somewhere else? If your account is new, it's more than likely just been something called "domain name propagation" (it just means they're setting it up). This will usually take no longer than 24 hours, although normally it's much quicker. Once this is done, you will be able to access your site. Or, if your domain name was registered from somewhere other than HostGator (or using a different HostGator account), you will need to "point the domain" to your new account. Also known as updating your domains DNS servers. I can help you with this if you need. Just let me know and I'll see what I can do, but hopefully it was just the domain propagation and you can access your site already :) Thanks, Martie.
Hi Marty. My domain is not showing in the Choose Installation URL nor is it in the drop down box. How do i get my domain in the drop down box to install wordpress
Did you purchase this domain name at the same time as your hosting plan? Or, was it purchased from somewhere else / using a different HostGator account? If it was purchased from somewhere else (which I'm assuming is the most likely). You will need to do 2 things: 1. Create and "add on domain" (in HostGator cPanel) 2. Point your domain's "DNS nameservers" to your new hosting account (done from domain account) Don't worry, it's easy. This video will show you how to create an add on domain in HostGator: ua-cam.com/video/2gKVCiklND4/v-deo.html And this video will show you how to updated your domain's nameservers: ua-cam.com/video/i2KkJh05ygg/v-deo.html You will then need to wait a few hours (max 48 hours) for the details to "propagate" before it works properly. But, it will show up in your HostGator account right away. If you have any questions, or you get stuck, just let me know! I hope this helps! Martie P.S. If you purchased your domain name at the same time, it should definitely be showing in your HostGator account. If it's not, I'd recommend contacting their LIVE chat support for advice. @@LetsBuildWordPress I contacted cust service. It was purchased through HG. They kinda fixed the problem or rather walked me through extra steps that I have to perform to get it to show up. Steps that other hosting companies automatically do for you. (For instance I have to manually input the DNS, ...like what!?) I shouldnt have to do that. Don't even get me started on Hostgators, SSL integration. Its 2022, these extra steps just to get a new domain up and running should not be happening. Anyways, yeah my site is finally up and I thank you for replying.

Can you make multiple WordPress like subdomains or is it just for one site.
I always wanted to try to make a hosting website

You will need to do 2 things:
1. Create and "add on domain" (in HostGator cPanel)
2. Point your domain's "DNS nameservers" to your new hosting account (done from domain account)
Don't worry, it's easy.

But, it will show up in your HostGator account right away.
