At the beginning I thought this "extended intro" might be way too much, but it became my favorite version and I have returned here like a thousand times. Now I think this intro just puts you in the right mood for what is coming (And when the lamb...). It is great, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree…. Great Greek band. Never realised Demis Roussos could play bass. And Vangelis is a super talent. Loukas Sideras on drums. Aphrodite’s Child also has guitar solos by Silver Koulouris.
Very underrated band that basically emerged during the fascist military junta in Greece that was supported by the US

The structure of this song is so wonderfully unusual: five minutes of ambient chimes, three minutes of powerful verse chorus, then three minutes of rocking guitar. I'm reminded of Brian Eno's Baby's On Fire with wonderfully lengthy guitar work by Robert Fripp. Maggot Brain is of the same structure. All are great songs from a very experimental time.

I like extended versions of songs when it adds something, not when it takes 5 minutes of your life.

The intro should also have had some synthesizer sounds by Vangelis' magic play... but what a wonderful song this is ... anyway..

Since this is a home brew I think he only has access to the finished record. Maybe some creative use of tape delay eq and fade could have turned the 5 min intro into something more engaging tho... Sort of Mad Professor meets...

if u ever wondered if humans were smart enough to build pyramids, just listen to this. Human is the God. The more human replicated the shorter the life became and the more his power faded away. Thats where our collective thought comes from
