    Brilliant Video, I am from the UK and thanks for your help, ordered all the items from Amazon UK and they fit my AX53 and it all looks great, looking forward to filming in bright sunshine to see the results, sadly looks like Peter has taken down his videos you talk of, so I am very happy that you made this great video,
    thank you from JJ

    Awesome setup! Glad to see someone else with this setup, I just got the 55-72mm adapter and waiting on the lens hood to come in. I really like your idea with the clear UV lens for protection, I’ve had rain completely stop working the auto shutter and I wasn’t able to shoot videos! This just gave me an idea, you will be happy with your investment it’s an awesome camcorder!

      Thanks for the info on rain, I was wondering how carful I should be when its raining. How do you protect yours when its raining?

      @@JustADad I didn’t have anything protecting it at the time, but I will be protecting it the same way you are now with the clear UV and a lens hood! It’s probably the best setup for the camera unless the clear uv lens has light glare but should be a good tool in the field for a rainy day that’s for sure. Thank you for replying.

    Nice,, video, I did this as well, I just bought a 55mm uv filter over the camera lens and used the step-up ring for the lens hood. The both work out the same you just pay a little less on the smaller 55mm diameter and you can still take the lens hood off and have the camera's len covered always from dust or whatever.. Thanks for sharing Dad

    Hey just a quick question on this lens hood.
    Does the lens hood at all (even a little bit) impede on the image?
    As in can you see it even a little bit when you're all the way zoomed out?

    Does it cause any problem using manually ring when using

      @JustADad  3 роки тому +1

      yes maybe a little. you can still adjust it but it is kinda close to the ring, I find it still easy to adjust.

    Purchased each of the items mentioned however the filter does not actually fit. Fortunately the hood will snap directly onto the 55 to 72 step up adapter

    I love my AX53. I need to clean the lens because I never put on the filter. How do I keep it from moving around when I wipe it down with the cloth? Definitely will be using the UV filter in the future, a water spot developed while filming kayakers!!

    However you did not show a wideshot through the camera with that hood on. You will see the lens hood in the wide shots. I know this becaouse I also did this combo, and the lens hood shows in the wide shots, but there is a fix for this. . .

    Why do you need a cap? The lens is covered when you close the lcd..

      But it's fully exposed to the elements when in use. Installing a UV filter prevents dust and moisture from getting to the front element of lense and the gaps of the lense structure when in use.
