Thank you for speaking clearly enough for me to play this at 2X speed and get my class reading done in half the time
Nice processing power!
Thats epic bro im glad you enjoyed it
Same bro
Yeah, I appreciate that too...a lot
Imagine listening to Hemingway on 2x..
"I'd lie to destroy you a few times in bed" never have I ever thought to see hear this line in a college class. Everyone giggled lol
So, you don't read much or at all.
Have you heard of Bill Shakespeare, Walt Whitman, DH Lawrence, or Geoffrey Chaucer. John Steinbeck doesn't ring any bells?

What's your point?
Deep and clear voice from you. Really appreciate your work. I wish you continue posting more audio books..... thank you sir..
Really loved the narration. More Hemingway books please ♥️
I listen to audiobooks a lot. You did an extremely good job on this. Great intonation, nice characterization and clarity. Well done.
Thank you for the kind words.

Excellent. Thank you

Thank you very much for your job!

Hi, I am an art teacher from Kiev, Ukraine. I liked your perfomance, waiting for A Moveable Feast. The intonation is very good, the mature, strong personality of Hemingway is transfered perfectly. I listen for the learning English aims.
It is my greatest pleasure to provide you with something of value. Perhaps I will do more Hemingway soon. Cheers from the States my friend.

Hi. Thank you for this! Very well done! I just found your channel! Ready to hear more!
Thank you Patricia. Check my most popular videos and I am sure we can find something you will enjoy
Thanks a lot
Thanks for this. Very helpfull
Thank you, this was entertaining and your voice is very clear. I love Hemingway
Thank you. It was useful!
It was like being read to by a friend. Much like Helen wanted to do for Harry.
What a nice compliment. Thank you
Egads. I had forgotten how depressing Hemingway was. "... death had come and rested its head on the foot of the cot, and he could smell its breath..."
You haven't read cormac mccarthy yet I take it ?
Thank you so much
No thank you!

Im really glad it helped

Great Job! Really helpful. The only thing I noticed was skipping words.
Great. Consider doing ‘The Goldfinch.’
You annunciation is a little off at times and you could focus on being a little more 'crisp' or sharp (you seem to have a very faint lisp). But everything considered this is definetly in the upper echelon of youtube audiobook narrative quality.
Thanks for the upload! Beautiful book and you did a better job than I could do for sure.
Yes part of my work here (this channel) is practice in overcoming the poor pronunciation and enunciation I was raised with. Thank you for kind words. I am always trying to improve
Are you saying “skying?” Instead of skiing?” Lol
I thought you did a great job reading thanks love Hemingway Philip Roth maybe by grabd central station i sat down and wept books that are more dense need to be read a bit slower but you are awesome for sure
Well thank you i appreciate that.
👍👍👍
God job. To take on such a task is commendable. If trying again read each page or so before to get hard passages figured out. Edit the recording. Remove and redo errors, burps, drinking, page turning sounds. Take the time and 300% more professional sounding.
Completely agree this is a rough recording. Thankyou
Volume recorded to low, im driving and I have it turned all the way up and can barely hear it.
I know. It is disappointing.

You have an excellent voice for reading - most people don't. But you don't have to sound so dramatic - it takes away from the writing.
Thank you for the kind compliment. I have also thought similarly to your second point while listening to this piece. Thanks for sharing your thoughts
@@KraussAudioBooksHemingway was intense enough. One only needs a good voice and articulate well. You have both. Perhaps you might read it again?
@@panicholson yes, I have improved in my craft since i uploaded this one. Maybe I will rerecord- as it is such a classic, its just kind of daunting to consider deleting one of my most viewed videos. However- the art must come first I suppose
Gekke strijder
Inflection's pretty "off," to my ear. This couple's conversations could sound many ways, in different readings--but not like this.
Hey David I agree. I have been working on improving my female dialogue. There is a fair amount of it in the Iliad, I've posted the first 3 chapters on my channel. Would you give it a listen and let me know what you think?
This story can't be as bad as it sounds. It must have been painful to try and read.
I read it because i loved it. Especially the ending. Gave me serious chills first time around
Some people obviously prize Hemingway's portraits/descriptions of amoral emptiness. Not only do I not find them particularly meaningful, to me they are also not very interesting. No offense meant to anybody.
It was a decent job of narration, with a few stumbles; but the many mispronounced words started to annoy me. Gendarmes, jodphurs, and some of the place names to list a few.
Yes, I was not editing my videos when I made this, just 1 take then upload. I am trying to do better now :)
Completely agree, need practice
@@KraussAudioBooks I was a QC editor for Learning Ally (formerly known as "Reading for the Blind") for several years, so I'm very conscious of narration errors :)
@@JillClardy very cool 😎
Many mispronounced words - like "ski" . One does not go "skying", but "skiing". The diction was clear, and the rythym generally pretty fair. Maybe it could have been edited better. I have heard better readings.
Good, but weak French pronunciation.
Yeah it needs work 😪 but thanks!
You read too fast
You can slow down the video speed to 0.75x that may be helpful
A lot of these reviews must be fake. Dreadful AI narration.
I dont like it either but apparently others did
Very uncomfortable pronunciation
Don’t quit your day job
My newer stuff is a lot better, check it out
Better to try than to shout from the sidelines
Learn to pronounce the French words for gods sake. You utterly mangle gendarme, Crillon, St Germaine, etc. Americans in Paris know how to pronounce the French words and place names.
Lo siento
Please, don't you tell me that that stingy and stupid protagonist is a typical Hemingway's "hero"... 🤮
Hemingway wouldnt have categorizes his protagonists as heroes. He was more concerned with writing men truthfully, with all dings and imperfections on full display for the reader to judge
If you don't like Hemingway go play in traffic. I know, I should be nice to stupid people, but I don't owe anything to a prick who can't understand Papa.
Bad accent
Stick to your day job. An actor you're not.
Check my recent vids, I like to think Ive improved
congratulations on destroying a classic... you "steven hawkins" monologue tone and camp female voice have turned this classic into a 'Carry on" film..shame on you..
No ones forcing you to listen robert

@@roberthunter564 In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the *new*. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends. Last night, I experienced something new: an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Gusteau's famous motto, "Anyone can cook." But I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist; but a great artist *can* come from *anywhere*. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at Gusteau's, who is, in this critic's opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in France. I will be returning to Gusteau's soon, hungry for more.
@@brandonkrauss1620 that reply says more about you than you realise...;-)
Ignore toxic comments
The reader overacts, for one thing, and needs to learn to read like people really speak. A very stiff and stilted reading - Hemingway would have hated it.
