  • Join Jeff and Alex as we take you through Royal Caribbean's amazing Rhapsody of the Seas. Rhapsody of the Seas is a Vision-Class cruise ship. The smaller ship did not disappoint as it has all the amenities of larger ships and without the large crowds. This voyage was from Athens to Venice. Walk with us through the common areas of the ship and please check out our video of our Owner's Suite. We invite you to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE to our channel for videos of our travels and more! If you have been on the Rhapsody or have any comments/questions, please leave them below. Thank you for watching and see you on the next one!

How nostalgic. I was married aboard Rhapsody while docked at St. Maarten back in 1999. 👍

Coming on at the end of this month. I enjoyed this but would’ve been nice to know what deck you were on with each description and what was actually free.

Looks great. We will be sailing on Rhapsody Of The Seas around the Caribbean early 2023 after a one week holiday in Barbados.
    Any advice, or tips?
Our cabin is on deck seven 🥳⚓️🛳🍹

@@dessicatedpickles7755 hi could you please share how did it go? We also want to book it but we are unsure, is the ship any good?

@@xtr0n1c Hi, Barbados was fantastic. Our hotel was just gearing up for the season so there were a few hiccups eg food not up to scratch, not all amenities open.
Nothing major. We rented a little Suzuki Jimny to explore as it was cheaper than excursions daily and had a blast finding little beaches practically empty to have a little swim etc.
The Atlantic (East) side was far more rugged and great for walking.
The ship is a fairly old girl and adequate at best. There were a lot of new crew and on speaking to a few regular Royal Caribbean cruisers it wasn't up to their usual standards.
The food was average but, ample, the staff were very helpful and cheerful and it was clean.
I'm nearly fifty and felt quite young on board.
If booking I would recommend to book deck four to deck seven as lower decks can be quite noisy at sea.
The main entertainment decks were five upwards.
The restaurant was lovely in itself and the waiters were there for everything. We booked a table for the same time each evening and got to know our waiters well.
The buffet style restaurant had plenty on offer but, there are no booking times so get a table first. Everything was an extra it seemed and if, like us, you don't get the drinks package (tea, coffee, juice is complimentary) then it's pretty pricey if you do fancy a g&t or a beer ( £18 for two gins). You can take two bottles of wine on board and if you're feeling naughty you can hide some in your case. Carrying any drink on in a back pack will get confiscated until the end of the cruise, naughty naughty.
Excursions we avoided and just spoke to the taxi drivers ashore, arranged a price and had a local tour on the islands. They were never more than 30 US dollars per person (we were a group of four adults, two children)
The island's were an eye opener and not what I expected personally and we learnt a great deal about the islands from the very knowledgeable drivers.
All in all a good time with Barbados being the absolute highlight.
One more thing, the transfers from ship to airport were a joke with the choice of sitting in the airport all day or paying extra to have your suitcases stored for the day so you could have a last day at the beach.

When the ship dock at different ports are you allowed to explore the country where the ship has dock, if so how much time do you have until the boat is ready to sail to its next destination?

    • @kammykay967
      @kammykay967 Рік тому

You are allowed to disembark at each port. You can book a tour through the cruise line or through a third party. Just make sure you are back way before the ship is scheduled to depart.

You have to be back onboard by 5pm latest.
Cheap tours aplenty once ashore. Usually between 8am to 830am you can leave.
      Just remember your seapassrs
