One of my favorite songs and one of my favorite voices. It’s nice to see her being appreciated. Really sad we don’t have more work from her and that she wasn’t ever truly recognized while alive. What an amazing singer.

Lately I been commenting on songs that remained me of you..and when I'm not listening to music I still find myself getting lost in thought about you... Truth is I'm still in love with you no matter how bad I wanna forget. Or how I wish my daughter would not be so sad and confusion as to why u left and yet could not tell her by or why. We miss you hope ur doing ok and we always pray that God may protect u and watch your path.
I just played this song in front of my mom. She threw her head back, as if she’s having a flashback. She said this song took her back to the 70s when she would cruise on Whittier Blvd. in her homeboys & brothers lowriders. What a time. ❤️
A year too late with the comment but... Don't do that :( The morning after is always twice as depressing and you're just setting yourself back by a couple of weeks to getting your head in the right place again.

The song made me realize how lucky I am.You tube on the samsung galaxy world music thanking you on you tube thank God sake love is great what a tune Dave.
What a beautiful voice. One of my favorite songs. Does anyone know if David Hamilton recorded this session in the basement studio on Philadelphia St or if he already had the little studio on Highland St by this time? I used to ride my bike past the house that had the studio in the basement. I imagined all the sessions that went on down there. Just around the corner from the early Motown studio.
Little Ann (born Ann Bridgeforth; 22 March 1945 - 26 January 2003)[2] was an American soul singer. Her recording career was short-lived but her work was 'rediscovered' shortly before her death. Originally from Chicago, but growing up in the small town of Mount Clemens in Michigan, "Little Ann" Bridgeforth performed regularly as a singer, including at her cousin's club, Michelle's Playroom. When she was getting gigs elsewhere, she changed her name to Little Ann - how she was known within the family, as the youngest of seven brothers and sisters.[3] In 1967 in Detroit, she recorded ‘Deep Shadows’, produced by Dave Hamilton, but it was not released, and was almost lost to history.[4] In 1969, she recorded an album's worth of her soulful singing, with Hamilton. The record company, Ric-Tic, released only one song, "Going Down a One Way Street", as a single (Ric-Tic142). It was to be her only release for a long time. (One of the executives of the company was Joanne Bratton-Jackson, with whom Little Ann is sometimes, erroneously, identified.)[3] In the early 1980s an acetate of a Little Ann song was discovered by someone in England. Under the title "When He's Not Around" by "Rose Valentine" it became a big hit on the Northern Soul scene.[3] Then in 1990, that original master tape, including the song, which was really called "What Should I Do?", was discovered at Hamilton's home, leading to a release of the single on Ace/Kent Records.[5] "Deep Shadows" was finally heard by the world on CD compilation Dave Hamilton's Detroit Dancers, Vol 1 in 1998, along with two other, at-that-time unreleased, tracks. It has since been covered several times and has featured in a Nike Jordan trainers ad in the US.[4][6] Further unreleased tracks appeared on Detroit Dancers Volumes 2[7] and 3,[8] in 1999 and 2006 respectively, before the tracks were compiled on vinyl in 2009 with the release of the entire Deep Shadows album on Helsinki's Timmion Records.[3][9] Finally, with the release of some of her music, Little Ann performed in the UK, shortly before her death in 2003.[1] Little Ann (Bridgeforth) is not to be confused with Little Ann (Sandford) who recorded with Tarheel Slim between 1959 and 1965.[10][11]
Yes it was the beginning of the retro era and then the 80’s copied from that retro style and took it to a more futuristic look. Idk I’m just a an old soul by heart, it seem everyone was more happy and didn’t care too much of how they looked
Beautiful!!... I can see where Duffy got a lot of influence from, her voice & style are almost identical a near half century later!.. Spookily, Little Ann died in Jan 2003 just months before Duffy got her first hit(june 03)!...

Power To The People
El no sabe como me siento
He doesn't know, just how I feel
No parece importarle
He don't seem to care
Pero mi amor es real
But my love is real
Solitaria es la noche,
Lonely is the night,
Queriendo que me abrace fuerte
Wanting him to hold me tight
Sombras profundas, rodeame
Deep Shadows, surround me
Nadie sabe el problema que tengo con mi hombre
Nobody knows, the trouble I have with my man
A nadie le importa, ellos simplemente no parecen entender
Nobody cares, They just dont seem to understand
Pero es hora de que se enteren
But its time they found out
De que se trata el verdadero amor verdadero
What true true true love is all about
Sombras profundas, rodeame
Deep Shadows, surround me
Oh si, oh si lo hacen
Oh Yes, Oh yes They do
Solitaria, solitaria, solitaria es la noche
Lonely, lonely, lonely is the night
Queriendo que me abrace fuerte
Wanting him to hold me tight
Sombras profundas, rodeame
Deep Shadows, surround me
Oh si, oh si lo hacen
Oh yes, oh yes they do
Nada más que angustias, sí
Nothing but heartaches, yeah
Nada más que dolor
Nothing but pain
Cuando miro por mi ventana, si
When I look out my window, yeah
Todo lo que veo es lluvia, lluvia, lluvia
All I see is rain, rain rain
