the guy who Oliver got into a fight with was largely the inspiration for Homer Simpson, particularly the phrase ‘d’oh’

Yellow means cowardly, also used as yellow bellied and yellow streak, but no idea why the color yellow is associated with cowardice.
    Great reaction guys.

Jim Findlayson, the actor who played Ollie's opponent, was in dozens of Laurel and Hardy films and played everything from a next door neighbor to a doctor and everything in between. He and another comedy star of the time, Edgar Kennedy, were kings of "the slow burn." It was character actors such as Findlayson and Kennedy that complimented the great comedy teams of the day and their contribution should not be overlooked.

I’m seeing a sketch where G Tyme is teaching Nic of Tyme how to fight. A wholesome father son lesson with hilarious consequences. Oh and the term yellow or yellow belly came from how dogs pee on themselves when frightened.

Come on fellas, you must have seen many a western where 'yella' (yellow) meant cowardice. It's an oudated expression.
