  • A drive around Ivanhoe Lake Provincial Park in Northern Ontario. The campground is located between Timmins and Chapleau, just off highway 101, about eight kilometres from the town of Foleyet.
Established in 1957, Ivanhoe Lake has 120 campsites, 64 with electrical hookups. As is the trend with the northern provincial parks, a number of the sites have seasonal campers on them.

Thank you for that wonderful tour! I havent been to the park in over 45 years. Its such an amazing place. We used to catch lots of fish off the damn. There used to be this huge sand hill of the road on the way to the park. Is it still there?

Glad you enjoyed! Yes - I do recall a large sand hill/dune just off the highway. We actually loved the little town of Foleyet nearby - a real step back into the real Canada. Having Ivanhoe Air operating their fleet of float planes on the lake was a treat as well..
