Slightly Stoopid, the Ocean Beach, California based group led by co-founders and multi-instrumentalists Kyle McDonald and Miles Doughty, along with drummer Ryan “Rymo” Moran; percussionist Oguer “OG” Ocon; saxophonist Daniel “Dela” Delacruz; keyboardist Paul Wolstencroft; trumpet and trombone player Andy Geib; plus special unofficial 8th member” Karl Denson (The Rolling Stones/Greyboy Allstars) on saxophone- On June 30th, Slightly Stoopid unveiled their 8th studio album Meanwhile... Back at the Lab through the band’s own Stoopid Records.
Dude I am just in love with all this footage of OB. Back when I was 21 I hitchhiked and train hopped my way around the country, and ended up kicking it in OB for a good while. Made a bunch of friends, went to bonfires on the beach, street performed on Newport, went cliff diving, got my heart broken, worked up the courage to play my first open mic at a bar there, went to some good vibe house parties, scavenged half-eaten burritos out of the trash and ate like a king, surfed my first wave at Blacks, slept on the roof of a convenience store but to me it was a palace, learned about the unconditional love that connects us all, didn't get stabbed by tweakers.... 12 years later I'm back in Texas for a while taking care of my mom. She has cancer and it has been incredibly difficult, but thanks for bringing me back to a magical time. one love, y'all ✌️

Brad recruited them to perform opening sessions for him (Sublime) while they were still in high-school. He also signed them to Skunk Records. I miss my boy Brad and have for many years now. He was the second person I met when I moved to Long Beach and we remained friends until he died. I just wish he would have been able to kick the junk without relapsing so many times. Anyway, there's a piece of trivia most people don't know.

Last sunday, i went to the one love cali reggae fest in long beach. Let me tell you, the best fucken concert/festival i went to! Not only was it by the beach, but SS put on a fucken show! Not to mention it was my first ever concert ever, and im 23 and ive been listening to them since i was in middle school. The highlight of my night was spotting one of the singers next to the hot dog stands in the street. And he was the coolest dude ever, he shook my hand and gave me a big hug and that just made my night even better! Im hoping one day i can get a pic will all of them and have them sign it and my merch and frame it. The best music out there! Much love stoopid and stoopid people 🌅🌴 repping the south bay area.
