Good news is that drone is allowed in the park. But I fear it would be very windy to fly drone.
Hiking, I totally get it Sara. I need a destination, a view, time with friends that you don’t get to see everyday, etc. I think it’s about what drives you, are you getting to put a check in the “I completed this hike” box or the “I saw that” box. Sometimes it could be both, that’s OK too.
Chris, I like the kayak. Good on you for picking up a hobby and taking some time just for you. I’m a small business owner, sometimes it feels like everything I do has got to have a purpose and meaning to push the business forward. Of course, time is spent investing in my family is also a driver. It’s easy to forget, making sure your cup is filled up means that you’ll have more to pour into others. Happy paddling.

Thank you for sharing your visit to RMNP! That park was my playground when I lived in Colorado. I lived in Boulder the first 8 years and Longmont the remaining 7 years and many a Saturday or Sunday would find me in the park. A 30-45 minute drive for some of the best scenery in the US. Got to know the park quite well. Retired in 2010 and moved to CA. I miss those visits.
That sounds so idyllic to be able to have RMNP as your playground!!
I too have been waiting for this to appear. Colorado is my state... to see it through someone else's eyes .... to see what they marvel at, how they enjoy it.. that is what makes it more enjoyable to me. Sara, you are not alone in "hiking just for hiking". I don't mind a short walk to see something (the goal/carrot/whatever you call it) but just to hike... uh, no. OH!!... the coffee shop??? Great coffee, we've snacked there several times, and across from the square is a jerky shop... OH MY!! Glad to see you had a good time. Until next time... Travel Safe.
Ahh we love Colorado, so much to see and do! Rocky Mountain National Park was incredible. So glad to hear from a local that we picked a great place to grab coffee! We will have to check out the jerky shop another time!

This video brings back memories. My wife and I got married in RMNP 2 years ago. We sat at that same coffee shop when we met our florist for the wedding. We also had coffee and a cinnamon roll!

Lots of people don't love hiking! I love short hikes! Four miles is plenty and I prefer a lake or a beautiful view as a reward for my efforts :-) That kayak looks so cool!

I agree on the HIking (my knees more so than anything) I like hiking but I want to hike to a view or to something. The last time I was at the Rocky Mountain National Park, I was 12. Love it!

I love Rocky Mountain National Park I was there in 2010 I saw so many elk. We have hills here in TN compared to the mountains there.

Chris - inquiring minds want to know - how long does it take to assemble that kayak? It looks pretty easy, but I can’t do origami…
It’s definitely hard in cold weather when the plastic doesn’t want to move as easily, but when it’s warm outside it takes about 10-15 minutes right now. It gets a little faster each time! :)

Sara, gasp! You don't like hiking? Actually, we aren't far off in sharing your thoughts. If there isn't a payoff on a hike, idk if I enjoy it. Hiking 10 miles for the most incredible view you'll ever see? Sure. Hiking 10 miles just to be out in nature. Maybe not so much for us
I know I know, maybe that was a little drastic haha but yes I want a little payoff in the end haha!
