    i been watching, some of the videos, it is really a beatifull art. I do have a question: at the end, do you some how paint the hole thing together with glue, or spray it with some kind of glue, to hold it together?? if you do, what do you use?? its seems to me, because there are many many diferents sizes forms, glue together, that if this fall to the ground, some of it may come out, or bent.

    • @AyaniArt
      @AyaniArt  7 років тому

      No, I don't use anything, but no piece will fall. I glue them with a good glue (clear gel tacky glue) and I also use the usual white school glue and they are so well glued that if I do a mistake and I want to detach it from the base, I need to make an effort to take it apart (that well it is glued). Don't worry about falling....they will never fall because it's paper and paper is light and the glue gets in the paper and bonds the pieces very well together

    Your work is lovely...is there any possibility you could let us know the length of strips you are using or do you just go by the way you want it to look? I can tell when you use a whole strip...I am speaking more about when you cut an outer layer strip. Thank you. Really enjoy watching you work...can't wait til my fingers get that fast!!

    • @AyaniArt
      @AyaniArt  8 років тому

      +Tracey Holdway I usually use the letter size (A 4) length so they are 11 in (30 cm) long. For the leaf that uses different sizes I glued two strips together, so the longer one has 22 in (60 cm). Then I cut the strips two by two in a decreasing way. I usually do not measure them, they just need to be smaller and also use a smaller circle size.
      For the outer layers I just go around two or three times, depending on how I want it to look

    is there any specific type of paper to use for quilling?

    • @AyaniArt
      @AyaniArt  7 років тому

      It depends on what you prefer. I use 180 grams (65 lb) cardstock that I cut with a paper shredder or with a cutter, but you can also use already precut quilling strips that are thinner. I prefer thicker paper rather than thinner

      Ayani Art hello...adding to the question, is this the kind of paper, that wont age with the time? same papers, loose color, fade, or bent....thanks

    • @AyaniArt
      @AyaniArt  7 років тому

      I use acid free cardstock and until now I didn't have issues with it. However, make sure you don't place the final product in direct sunlight. I don't use anything to protect my work, but if you want to make sure it will last, you can use a UV protection spray. Watch this video for more details: ua-cam.com/video/D98S1PO4FgM/v-deo.html

    • @AyaniArt

      +allispinkk The tool is very easy to make. This is the pad I used: www.amazon.com/Quilling-Board-Slotted-Tool/dp/B00RZUXZHI/ref=sr_1_298?ie=UTF8&qid=1445196904&sr=8-298&keywords=quilling+tool

    Hi , nice work , I want to ask you that , which size of display wooden frame you use for one complete flower decoration, will you please show your frame as well ,what kind of paper used for the base of frame ?

    • @AyaniArt
      @AyaniArt  5 років тому

      Hi Sara, I believe I used 45/60 cm frame size for this work. I usually use the same cardstock I use for the flowers or leaves as background, which I glue on the glass or wood of the frame using solid glue (this prevents waving due to the wet glue). You can see how I did it in this video:ua-cam.com/video/vsRzbfHQ2oI/v-deo.html

      +James Netusil I use Aleene´s clear gel tacky glue, but the container is different. I bought it in Norway. You can buy any type of dual tip glue pen and then refill it with the glue you like. An example of the glue you can buy is this: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0086RJ12C?keywords=dual%20tip%20glue&qid=1449356990&ref_=sr_1_7&sr=8-7
