Such an underrated Bowie song. David sanborn on the sax who went on to become a big jazz solo artist after this and he turned down offers to play on major stars albums including Michael Jackson if memory serves me right
Bowie just about knocks the wind out of me (in a wonderful way) when he sings "Someone like you should not be allowed to start any fires" -- and by the time he sings "fires", the way his voice gets so powerful, he has just about knocked me out of my desk chair. Since January, this the 7th anniversary of his death, I've been doing a lot of crying. This live 1999 Paris Life on Mars video really makes me cry because Bowie himself looks and sounds like he's going to start crying himself once or twice. I've heard a lot people say their favorite Life on Mars is from the Johnny Carson show, but I'm like, how can your favorite Life on Mars not be this one? ua-cam.com/video/_kPDJQBtHaY/v-deo.html Anyway, "Win" is the song of Bowie's right now that is helping me stop crying about his departure from this Earth, and gives me cause for joy again. That and the sublime experience of getting carried away by his official video rendition of "Wild is the Wind" (which either makes me sob or fills me with joy and awe...
My favorite Bowie song. I'm proud not to follow the masses, but this song deserves 40M views.
Could be his best song. Love it.
I really really love this song
One of his best, imo.
My favorite lyricist ever.
Ear worm music. Is it the ecco sax? The soulful backups? Or is the general flow of a perfectly simple, very complecated song? It's his haunting vocals!
Fantastic album.

Luther Vandross also sang back up on this song. You are right so over looked. This song is truly a gem. Missing Bowie
