The yellow rocks (Originite Prime) are earned through completing stages and the challenge modes. The red rocks (Orundum) are earned through Annihilation which resets weekly. Or you can buy them ig.
Have you been reading the story? It can take a while to get used to for players without much experience in visual novels, but it's got damn good world-building and lore expansions. No pressure tho, play at your own pace

@@quirk1 Like Shaw and Weedy who can PUSH, there're also operators who can PULL the enemy as well such as Snowsant, Cliftheart, or Lady Gladiia.

Ideally you want to get pretty much everything if you can, you got 2 weeks to farm it, as for what stage from the event to farm ,go for the one that drops what you need, because shop currency you get is almost always 1:1 ratio of sanity spent to shop currency, if you can reach stage 6-8 thats where blue mats drop and thats where people usually farm the event.
As for what order, id say mats would be best.
Challenge modes are exacly for an addition OP, thats the generous reward, eighter buy skins with em or use em to roll gacha or if you are a whale, use for sanity refills.Up to you want you want to prio with em.
uh, ok, so you got the XP and LMD, the next thing is to consider grabbing the materials, like if you get the sugar and farm 1-7 for rocks, you could e2 ethan 'reasonably' easily. if you clear annihilation chernobory you should be able to buy a 150 voucher unit from the shop.
once you have an e2 unit clearing lungman outskirts should be easy and Lungman downtown should be possible as well as making further progress in the event, using a friend support.
I'll second this. Annihilation clears are worth up to three free pulls a week, but you're capped at the start to only getting two pulls. You have to unlock getting the third pull with clears to the Lungmen stages, which makes them very valuable to get done early.
One of the times I felt fine using a guide. The stages can be 15m and it's really the final stretch that's the hardest part, but there's no way to know what to prepare for in advance (let alone you need a perfect squad and placements to do it while low level - you have to know exactly what's coming to stand a chance).
Protip only for annihilation. If you force close the app during annihilation specifically you get all sanity back (and no rewards). Useful if you have a run go sideways and just want to restart for free.
The challeng mode don't give you any rewards more than xp, cash and originium prime (the golden cristal), but it's good btw, for the f2players it's a good way of getting originium prime to buy skins or even the red thing you use on gacha
Glad to see you're enjoying the game. Watching this gives me nostalgic memory from when i started the game and when helped my friend starting out. While you might already read a lot of tips, here's my 2 advice that i've always repeat to anyone who starts the game.
1. You might want to cosider buying the level up packs (one that cost the yellow thingy/Originium Prime). It gives the same amount of Orundum (red thingy for gacha) as if you're converting it directly, while also gives you bonus resources which you'll definitely need early into the game.
2. DO NO SLACK OFF THE BASE! Factory and Trading post generate LMD just by existing, so you didn't need to farm lmd as often. I recommend you to farm for base materials than farm lmd in bonus stage. Lmd stage are the biggest scam imo.

The way you play is very methodical and thought out, the way you explain what you're doing and for what purpose will take you very very far. keep it up man! This game is a puzzle at times, and it's all about finding the solution
Lappland will help you a lot in future with her talent, also you can get free 5 star unit from Babel event.
I would say that the event character tokens aren't worth it. For a new player, the materials (rocks, alcohol, ore, etc...) are much more valuable right now. When the event eventually reruns, you can get the character tokens then if you no longer need materials.

You should try to do more Babel stages, or maybe even just use spare sanity (like when you're done playing for the day) on the babel stages to get points and materials. Try annihilation stages, too - you unlock them permanently with rewards and get a good amount of materials for the gacha for free, every week. Takes you like 150 sanity to fully clear it out for hte week, and after the first time you can instantly complete it for free, for the rest of your arknights career, to just trade sanity for materials.
Odda (the free 5 star Guard unit from the Babel event) is a solid operator for new players so duplicates will help him. Buying duplicate tokens now also serves a purpose a year later when the event reruns. When the event reruns, you can buy more tokens for the character from the shop. If a character is at max potential (Potential 6), you can exchange excess tokens in the Distinction (yellow) Certificates shop for yellow certificates. You can use these yellow certificates to buy pulls in the shop.
I like that you read everything out loud) You'd be surprised to know how many people don`t, and then drop the game because it gets hard. As for Weedy, she was my first 6*. And everyone told me this sucks: she's not particularly good DPS, high DP cost, she's not that tanky, she's too niche. It's not the unit to carry you through the early game. However, I started to really appreciate her once I got her skill lvl to 4 (do this asap!) and raised her to Elite 1. She'll have a deployable thing, which let's you have 2 pushers instead of one) Also, there are a few tricks with pushers for advanced game content.
@@Eddison33 after all no operator or subclasse is bad in this game, at the very least just very niche, but with amount of stages and time you'll find this particular niche character/subclass the core unit of a stage, ppl who says this or that is bad is a proof that they're either meta slave or just don't know how to play the game/character/subclass
The challenge mode is different for every stage. When you press challenge mode, before you enter team selection, you can read a brief description on what’s different from normal mode. In every challenge mode all enemies have +15% Hp and Atk(I think, not sure), and each challenge mode has a special effect, that could be:
-reduced do regen
-extra enemy stats
-reduced deployment limit
-x number of tiles not available
-reduced operator stats
-specific enemy buffed
-more enemies
Etc.
So it’s better to read the challenge description before starting one.
Ngl i am the type of not really amused to new arknights player but this channel been recommended to me recently making me want to watch it. And this channel actually made me watch you experience the game entertaining 👍🏻. I might give a sub after i watch two more new videos 🗿🤙🏻
ehhh, you cant really buy the character from the event shop. you have to beat the 5th level on the event
Definitely DO get those tokens over the skins and base furniture. Those tokens are limited and only available during this event and no where else. Everything else can be farmed so it should go something like this Unit tokens > High value materials > LMD > Reg materials > skin and finally after getting everything get the furniture
Well this is an advise rather than a tip, see those yellow thingy you get from clearing stages and hard mode stages (OP), Those are gacha currencies that can be transformed to the main red gacha currency (Oru), but they're the only currency you can get shop skins with, so my advice is, save those OP for skins, and absolutely dont use them for furniture, only use them for gacha as last resort if you're so close to pity or spark at the last minute, for gacha use the red currency (Oru), this if you're planning to be f2p and not aim for every operator, as a f2p, i mostly aim at limited banners, because standard operators can be obtained in different ways, either as spooks or when they debut in the yellow certs shop, and limited operators arent really frequent, they usually appear in anniversaries, new years or summer (about 4 limiteds per year?), so you can have enough time to save Oru.
Rare cases where i pull for standards is when the new standard is so good, or extremely my favorite, this is the value of being a global player, by following new contents in CN which are 6 months ahead of us we can know the value and potential of incoming ops, which is why we know that next event (5th anniversary)'s limited operator wisadel (or W alter), is the most broken operator existent, and the one with her logos has taken the throne of best caster (previously was eyja)
For side stories, Under Tides is very worth unlocking because the free unit is freaking Gladiia, a 6* and best pull operator in the game - Weedy's parallel for shifting the other direction. You don't have to clear the whole event to get her, just the first few stages. She is extremely good.
Abyssal hunters are strong
The challenge modes actually have description what extra stuff will be on map. Challenge modes are good for extra Originum Prime, as you need them for banner rolls, or if feel fancy, for the skins. Just don't go buying all skins, especially if you wont use char later on :D
In general think you doing better then i did when i just started.
As advices idk, try to max out Lappy for now, remeber to also upgrade operator skills not just their levels, and once maxed out use training room for extra. Also later on, you can ulnock special modules on some characters, they can change whole damn game at some points.
Another thing, good to try other chars when borrowing, but iof struggle, highly suggest to use Shu, becasue she can not just tank, but heal all allies in her range. I use her as main tank and have reduced healers from 2 to 1 on most stages.
p.s. still feel salty and guilty you didn't get Ascalon on her banner, as holy hell she's good, but Wisadel still will be way better :D

If you didn’t get the free 5-star from Babel event, then try to get him.
Odda is given for clearing either 3rd or 4th stage of event.
He isn’t really strong, but he is a melee AOE unit with some crowd-control.
After that, if you the skin - get it, otherwise either get potential upgrades for Odda or get higher tier mats, cuz you won’t be able to make them until your base gets upgraded.
Getting mats would allow to promote some characters to Elite 2 early.
The challenge mode give you one extra originite for reward.
Ah yes i see you completed one of the most important parts of the shop, very well indeed, so its up to you to choose if you want the skills of your operators better, a New operator that is meh but you can like it: click on token and will open a window you can acess the information of the character there or go to missions and find the character and click it.
But XP,books and Money for a new player its a very good start, i reccomend the guard chip, and the materials like Rocks as always, and the ones in the middle.
When you go to the late game you can change the other but its what you need the most.

all item in event shop are worth it, but first get the characters, try use that 4* earthdshaker guard, he is new archetype , also furniture and skin are worth it to take, event shop is the best farming stage in arknight, when it come to deadweek u can farming in red certificate shop (*if you endgame player)
Especially for new player getting the tokens is the last priority, every other material and even the furniture is higher priority
From the event shop buy the headhunting permits because thats free pulls for new characters.
Then buy the module blocks because that is a VERY LIMITED resource that lets you upgrade a charactera talents and base traits even further once you have them at elite two. I know thats far away. But once you get there you will ALWAYS not have enough of these. So you want to pick these up whenever they pop up. Theres no way to farm these. You get them from some limited amount permanent missions, events and 1 per week from weekly missions. Unless you want to spend money for more that is. The other modul3 data materails are also nice to buy. But not necessary since you can farm them for no sanity in a a certain gamemode. I dont really like that gamemode though so I always just buy these.
After that buy the guard chips. This is the most efficient way to get these since farming them normally takes WAY more sanity.
After that just start upgrading your characters skills and promoting them. Buy whatever material in the shop that you need for this. There is no real priority at this point other than what you personally need.
You dont really need to buy the event operator tokens or the furniture. Unless you just really want to use Odda because you like him. All of that is expensive, wont really help you, and is better spent on other materials
You should get furniture as well since it could useful for your dorms since they probably have no furniture and you can get purple certs in the certificate shop when the banner comes back but aside from that, good stuff

Whether you should get dupes of the welfare characters form these kind of events is really up to you. If you really like the character and think you will keep using them, you might as well. I think it's worth it because even though the rates of materials are way better, you can of course still consistently farm materials when the event is over, what you can't do when it's over is farm the event character's duplicates.

Around 3:15 you placed Gavial kinda badly unless you intended to only heal Kroos. One tile lower facing the same way would've healed your ground Ops, too. Obviously, wouldn't really help much on that map with the Jetpack guys coming in behind them... but I just thought I should point it out so you can try being more mindful of your Medic placement in the future.
Also, around 6:32 you place Jessica kinda poorly, too. You generally want as many tiles the enemy will walk over/fly through in your Operators' ranges. You only used 3 of her 8 tiles or something lol. Once again, not something you needed on that map, but may need to keep in mind for the future. HOWEVER, there ARE Operators you don't necessarily want to use the entire range of, who benefit from ONLY attacking the enemy in the tile directly in front of them or whatever, but that's so niche, I've never even seen it in a guide nor specialty clear (You know, like how some people mentioned, some people try to play "Sniper Knights" or "Guard Knights" and only use a certain class or whatever? Yeah, I've never even seen people not use as much of an Operator's range to damage enemies as possible for those types of vids)
I will say, SOMETIMES you DO ONLY want your medic to heal one or two Operators, usually when that Op is THE KEY to your strategy, and you have another Medic focusing on the others. Perhaps you have an AOE Medic like Perfumer focusing on everyone else, and a single-target Medic like Gavial trying to keep Eyjafjalla alive or something. Quite rare, but Medics are the only class I've seen be deployed in a specific way to NOT utilize their whole range. I've even done it myself, before. (Usually you face them outside of the map so they only heal whoever is in the tile beside them, and themselves if they get hit) Probably also not something you'll need to worry about any time soon, if ever.
Btw, Skadi Alter just heals EVERYONE in her range, so if you ever get her, you definitely don't have to worry about who is in her range, basically. But she's the only one I can think of who does that, not counting Angelina and Perfumer's global heal Talents. Actually, Saria's s2 which hardly ever gets used also heals everyone within range.
Pretty much everything in the event shops are bargains. Being able to get some pulls from there is notable especially for F2P. It's really just buying what you need for now.
You don't have to buy the duplicates now for Odda, who is the event's welfare unit. It's the only way to increase his potential, but he's not good anyways and it's very expensive. They will rerun Babel next year and you can get it then if you want.
The materials on the first page are super valuable given how hard they are normally to farm. They're mostly used for upgrades to E2 characters though, so won't immediately do anything for you. They may still be worth picking up since you will eventually have a use for all of them, but I wouldn't prioritize them over things with immediate benefits as that could be weeks or months away before you need them.

Just want to say this to you, you can read the summary when you skip the story
Don't fall into the trap of just using pushers/pullers for holes. They are much more useful than that.
I'd say Weedy and Gladiia (for push and pull) are definite powerhouses in many situations. Rope and Shaw not so much.

I had Weedy as the Specialist on my main squad for the longest time for her shifting ability - though I also have Croissant as the main Defender, with her push skill. I eventually replaced Weedy with Degenbrecher, who can pull enemies into her über sword slash. But Weedy and her deployable cannon still feature in my second squad.
Have you checked out the Side Stories and Intermizzis yet? (3rd/4th tabs in the Terminal) These are previous events that have finished their runs/reruns, and are now permanently available.
You get one key to unlock a Side Story/Intermizzi each week, and you can only hold two keys, so it helps to remember to unlock one of the 20-ish stories each week, even if you're not diving straight into them.
Most of the Side Stories and several of the Intermizzis have free operators to unlock, usually by clearing four or five stages, and they're all 5 or 6 🌟. You can also pick up a lot of other goodies for getting further into each story.
There's also some operators and goodies to unlock in the Archives, accessed from the lower left corner of the home screen. Archives/Intelligence/Special Operations has events that were primarily story on release. You can purchase keys to unlock each story chapter in the store (red certificates from the supply stages, 20 certs each), and you unlock some new operators, free skins, dormitory decorations, profile pics, and even some supplies for unlocking the entire set of each story (the orange notification will appear in the upper right corner).
