I’m not sure why this video showed up on my news feed but I’m sure glad it did as ducks are my favourite bird , I love them so much. His carvings are absolutely amazing, I wish I had one. Thank you for sharing🦆❤🦆❤🦆❤🦆❤🦆❤🦆❤🦆
Thank you for showcasing Jett Brunet's incredible artistic talent and craftsmanship. As an avid city dwelling non-hunter, non-fisher, despite living near the Chesapeake, I've never given much thought to how duck decoys, and the skilled artisans who made them, are part of the rich tapestry that makes up America's folk history. I love how Mr. Brunet reaches back to the family selling their goods in 1890s Louisiana, and spins a lovely portrait of his place within that history. How deeply engrained those connections must be for Mr. Brunet! -entrenched alongside those who taught the man who taught his father who in turned, passed along the art to his own son. Each piece Mr. Brunet creates is a testament to the working ducks' origins along the swamps. His life's work can be traced along a taut line, piercing through time, a thread unbroken. As Jett Brunet's hatchet deftly connects to the marvelously smooth grained and buoyant tupelo, a contented rhythm rings out, reaching to his past. Its melody is one of love, and of the men who have carved themselves a little piece in this world. (btw, the main reason I wanted to comment is this: at 13:24, I didn't understand what the word was when Mr. Brunet turned towards the cypress tree, so I clicked on the captions, which weren't much help, youtube autocaptions being what they are. The captions read "dugout P;" however, he said, "... this little dugout pirogue..." Would you mind changing it to read pirogue, please? So other non-hunters, non-fishers might learn what a pirogue is? Thanks!😄)
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! We’re thrilled to hear that Jett Brunet’s incredible talent and craftsmanship resonated with you, and we’re glad that his work could bring a piece of America's folk history to life. We've made sure to update the captions to reflect your feedback-at 13:24, the word now correctly reads "pirogue." Also went ahead and updated the subtitles to reflect the Vizier Family. We hope this helps fellow viewers better appreciate the detail and artistry in Mr. Brunet's work. 😊 Thank you again for your kind words and for helping us make the experience even better!
Well what can I say about this man that hasn’t been said before. For a carver he’s a genius!, as a friend, amazing!, and as a man , he is a gentleman in every sense of the word. I now to carve duck because he told me to!. He will never stop giving back.. From across the pond.
There's no one better than Jett! Good to see DU restoring some of the Louisiana marsh as well.

@@DucksUnlimitedInc Thanks so much! I was wondering how to spell Vizier 🤣
The best to ever do it. Loved his dad Tan Brunet as a person and carver but Jett pushed the art form to its limit! Phenomenal!
