One of the best duck mounting vids iv seen! Very well put together thankyou for sharing
One thing i've learned from watching a bunch of taxidermy videos is taxidermists don't charge near enough for their work
I taxidermied a hooded merganzer once. Very fun project. The cat got to it and made it look like a Pterodactyl from hell. Used it as a white elephant gift that year. Great hobby!
i like how i know nothing about this but understood everything , true fascination
I’ve always been very fascinated by death and biology/zoology. Learning taxidermy has been a recent wish of mine. Thank you so much for the educational video! So many people don’t understand how important this artistry is
Amy’s animal arts is another amazing taxidermist who makes great videos on UA-cam
Gladly pay your taxidermist, lots of details and hard work.
Micah mounted my 1st wood duck drake. Took a bird with a bad busted wing and fixed it to make me as a customer happy with the flying mount that I wanted. Looks exactly how it did when I shot it, he is a true artist!
It is an amazing job on both birds, and so rewarding to watch that two artist can work together, I am assuming as husband and wife having fun together while providing income as a team!
My first duck was a Gadwall drake and my second a Widgeon drake, so this was like a walk down memory lane. Thanks!
Outstanding job on both birds ,Thank you for sharing
This is by far the best video from start to finish I’ve seen. Thank you for sharing
Y’all this is fantastic!! I know absolutely nothing about this kind of stuff but I feel very informed and supportive of what you’re doing!
Outstanding!
Absolutely amazing!!!!!! I look forward to the next video.
Cool thank you for showing the effort that goes into a mount
Very cool watching you handle the duck.
Amazing work, true artistry.
That's was very informative and inspiring for new people wanting to get into it. Thank you guys
Beautiful!
You guys did a amazing job on both birds!
Just finished up my first duck with this vid and supplies from matuska. Turned out real nice
Great job!
WOW That is really beautiful great work!
Espectacular trabajo. Gracias.
Sure has changed since I mounted birds with excelsior 40 years ago. Great work!
You guys do amazing work! Thanks for sharing your process. Your Instagram page is equally awesome. I've always wanted to try this myself but don't have the patients or attention to detail you guys have obviously mastered and I'd happily pay for the service.
Excellent !
Thank you been wanting to try some duck mounts.
Fantastic job, and wow is she gorgeous 😍
Hell of a craft! And damn nice job
Had to watch this 4 times. Kept getting distracted. Marrying a taxidermist would save a lot of money
Whoop! That’s my Taxidermist!!! Gig ‘Em Alyssa
Great video I am wanting to start learning how to mount birds. Thanks
Loved the video thank you!
This is beautiful. I kinda want to do taxidermy now😂
Awesome video
Awesome video, learned a lot from this.
Wow it sure has changed from the day when I used to do it.
Awesome… Thank You!!!
Super travail c'est magnifique 👍👍💓
that's a good looking taxidermist right there!
Awesome job congratulations
Good job!!!!
I just had a gentleman mount 3 birds for me, only charged me 120 per bird and only took 3 weeks. Other people were charging 360 a bird and it was a year and a half turn-around. I was curious of the process. Asked my taxidermist why he wasn’t charging very much. He said honestly, I’m retired, and I’ve been doing birds since I was 10 years old, I just love doing them and seeing people happy. Great older gentleman.
care to share his info? I have 3 birds and have quote from 400-750 per bird!!
@@jeffthomas5332 haha I live in Oregon, not sure where you’re at
I'm in TX but would be happy to ship and provide return shipping. These guys about here are crazy expensive!!
i want to get in to bird taxidermy not many in my state so thanks for posing awesome video!
Amazing job to you two and the camera man for not laughing about the caulk situation
I would have been on the floor 😂
The best video I’ve seen on this
Wow. I've always wondered how this was done. Thanks! P.S: If Alyssa's Duck Vids don't make her famous, then her fitness vids sure will. Gal's got Guns! 💪🏻
Featherd arts for the win!
Please add more of these how to taxidermy videos please, I'm sure it would look repetitive but it's excellent learning
Agreed!
Yes i have been having a hard time with a fresh mallard. A how to more detailed would be helpful. I am a beginner self taught so I def need some more direction step by step
Very Nice yall. Great video
nice work
Super !!! Danke !!!
Wow, you are one lucky man.
Interesting…..thanks. Well done.
You two are phenomenal artists!!! The instruction is well thought out and presented. Also, if Alyssa decided to model skin products she'd be working 24 hours a day.......
Awesome video, this is an art form, takes lots of practice to get really good I'm sure
Always wanted to give it a try, can't rush perfection
I always wondered how in the heck they mounted birds/ducks. Mystery solved! Really amazing process.
Holyshit what a great video 😅 They make it look so easy.
Great video, loved watching you two work.
Never knew Jennifer Aniston was so good at taxidermy 😂
🥰I love your great work🪿🦆🦅🦢🪽🫡. I congratulate you. 🤗 my
🗽NYC,🇺🇲EEUU
Great videos!!! Thank you for taking the time to do these as it really helps! At what point to do you patch up any holes either by pellets or done during the fleshing process? thank you!
The pride of Orangeburg. Go Micah
Crazy nice video.for me biginer its very nice leson
Hope one day I'll find one like her!
Eeeeeeeyooooo I know these two folks! Lol
You guys make it look so easy...I so wanna do this but I don't know where to start
My first bird I mounted in life, was a ringneck pheasant, she was a young 19 year old taxidermist, but she looked nothing as good as what I'm watching now......smoken attractive can't stop watching this beauty....my God she is omg.......perfect 10......Merry Christmas
The irony of using dawn soap (with the baby duck) to wash the the duck carcass is hilarious
Where do the heads with eyes, and musculature already on the head come from ! Great video!
Исскуство!
Great video! As an european taxidermist where this mounting method is not very common, I am very thankful for a tutorial! Just one point I couldn't really get was on the flying mount : the feet were mount to the body on the podest from the very beginning, how did you get the skin on it, did you cut the leg skin open and put it around or did you detach the legs and attached them after you put them through the skin again like on the standing duck? Hope the question is clear ( trying my best in English :D) Would be happy to get an answer to that! Thank you so much!
U guys should offer a live workshop for ppl who learn better with hands on experiences
What do you do if you accidentally pluck a chunk of feather when you’re pulling the skin? Or does that never happen? Super cool vid!! 🔥
Awesome video! Both turned out so good! Anyone willing to offer some friendly advice? What gauge of wire do you use for the legs to support a standing duck? What gauge of wire for wings in a flying mount? Thanks guys!
Clearly you both have a passion for this type of work and you enjoy it so much. It shows through the end project.
Im gonna be that weird person and say, this helps me sleep.
My goodness that young lady is beautiful! Wonderful job with that duck. It's good for people to see the amount of work that goes into mounting an animal. That way the cost is easier to accept. :)
So there’s this big debate on wether to strip the secondary quills off the wing bone… I saw were you strip them. Can you elaborate the advantages or disadvantages of each process, and since you do strip them. What steps do you take to get them back in place?
I would love tk do rhis one time . But I just cant handle the styrofoam sound
as someone who has never had anything mounted before or ever duck hunted. what do you recommend first timers do when we bring you something to mount. do's and dont's please
Very nice work. The widgeon is terrific. I have several mounted birds and now better understand what was involved in the process. I now know why the feet on a nice cinnamon teal mounted in the 80's have shrunk. When I kill another Quill Lakes Canada goose it is going to these folks.
What do you do with the left over gas? How do you dispose of it properly?
One question is , I’ve tried to flesh ducks and I have over fleshed all three and torn the skin trying to get every bit of fat off, is there a small bit that basically gets turned to leather/tan ? Especially like around the tail and base of wings?
Fascinating. Birds look hard. Who is she?
What brand duck heads you use
jolie
What size backer rod are you using for the necks??
Is the gas part something you absolutely need or does it just help
I’ll never gripe about how much a taxidermist charges for a duck again!
Does anyone know state the duck has to be in to start skinning it.. Refrigerated? Freshly shot? Do you need to freeze it first?
33:20 профи с большой буквы. но голова во время полета не взъерошена, а отпекаемая должна быть. молодцы хочу учиться у вас
How do you guys learn to mount animals, is there trade school?
What size scalpel blades do you use?
What kind of disk you used to clean de leather? ?
Do you always detach the feet?
Can anyone pls help me I need help I have the body spot on but how do you mount the skin on the head with ripping feathers because there so fragile should I make the neck thinner or not use as much play or is there a way to pull the skin up without using my fingers
Is the gas bad for the feathers?? Is that a good way to tan is i suppose?? Can it be used on other small animals??
Do you tan the duck hide?
👍🇺🇦
