This documentary was chilling to the core. There is no such thing as a government in the Western world in 2024 that puts its citizens wellbeing at the forefront of its plans. It's all about corporations and greed.
My relatives have family farms in the Midwest.
At the land auctions, foreign buyers don't have a bid ceiling. Prices might reach 10x what was expected.
And then other farmers will approach the foreign bidder, and they'll happily buy their land, too, at the same price per acre. All the land they can get.
Many of these generational farmers are cashing out and becoming 8-figure millionaires.
Good on them. Fuck it I say.
@@StrobeFireStudios Selling off private assets is how every citizen of a country has to pay more money for food and electricity because a foreign private company controls the price with no care for how exorbitant prices will affect the every day man. The government should ban all foreign investment and support farmers who are struggling with subsidies. Greed will destroy us.

I think you should search for all innovations in this area. Just check which tiny country ranks after the US in agricultural turnover, also thanks to their huge innovative approaches in this field.

Yup. Too many people used to comfort and overconsumption are in for a rude awakening. Maybe they will care when it is their children and grandchildren going hungry.
Duh.. totally blows me away how far behind people in society are. Like who hasn't seen this coming for years? We've been making our own water and electric, catching and cooking our own food, and most importantly, moving our home with the wind to whatever region or country is favorable - for years now. The craziest thing about this is people this comes at a surprise to people when we've known about climate change and running out of fresh water for 40 plus years and countries doing this would be a natural progression wouldn't it? Then you have these people walking around having many children either knowing they'll have to deal with these problems and suffer or they're just ignorant...they don't really love their children theyre just using them for their own self gratification and I don't know which is worse if they're just ignorant or just don't care there's too many people and we take up too much space and resources.
