Dark Souls 2 on the XB360 was always supreme compared to the ridiculous ps3 version. In fact, almost all games were superior on the XB360. But in this specific case, this version of the game was already very good and apparently you corrected the tearing on the screen and stabilized the fps, which in this case ranges from 30 to 60. Incredible my friend! incredible !
Thanks. I've just done the opposite of I usually do, put to 02 what was 01. I prefer the original compared to this 30 fps version, but it's good to have a choice now.
@@xbox360forever3 I sold my xb360 and bought a PC. In Brazil, only 1% of the population has access to current consoles. I managed to buy a PS3 in November 2020 and it was the worst experience I had in my life. Ps1 and 2 are incredible consoles with an unparalleled library. I thought the Ps3 was a good console and bought it. But there isn't a single game in that crap where the FPS is stable. After nine months of use, I sold the PS3 and bought an XB360 and it was the best possible experience in terms of the seventh generation, excluding a strong PC obviously. Your work is amazing. In the future I should get an XB360 and apply your corrections. In Brazil, you can only buy one thing by selling another.
I've noticed that because the brazilian community is probably the most active on Xbox 360 (eg. the Nero updates for PES). Sorry for the question, why is it so about current gen? Salaries are low?
@@xbox360forever3 Yes!! The salary in Brazil is extremely low given the amount of taxes we pay here, there is very little left to invest in current technologies. I live in the interior of Minas Gerais in a region where there are few really good job opportunities. So I'd rather work for myself than be a slave to some kind of supermarket and receive almost nothing for hours and hours of work. Here in Brazil, Playstation 2 is the most popular, practically anyone from any social class has one. In second place comes the xbox360, although the community in Brazil is the most active, few here have ever had one, but as the country is very large, there is a large volume of users. This only proves to you what I say about the terrible economic conditions. My dream is to have an unlocked PS4, I'm waiting for a definitive unlock to be available so I can invest. But apparently this will only happen when Sony abandons the console and stops the constant updates.
I'm so sorry for your country situation, even if you brazilians continue to appear as one of the happiest people in the world. Hope things get better. Here in Europe the economy is not bad. not bad. I thought that this was done only as a compromise, if more frames, as it seemed to me, vertical synchronization dropped, but here both frames and synchronization are in order, without side defects, wow. and besides, now it’s clearly better than the ps3 version, I liked it better because there was less frame tearing, but so did fps
2:18 , it happened as I expected. The PS3 hangs up in that same place due to the game loading the path for the Forest of the Fallen Giant. I'd like to have some numbers with the fps so I could compare how the 360 v-syncked compare to the PS3 v-syncked. You could use the program you used on the Gear of War videos. I'll be playing later so I could record on phone some footage with the framerate plugin enabled on my console.
I used OBS studio with my previous capture card (at 720p), then TrDrop to have some sort of slideshow and another one to create the video. But this way doesn't work when you have lot of tearing effect in the game.
@@xbox360forever3 with the vsync always active you don't have any tearing maybe you could give it a go for this game. But if it's hard to set up don't worry about doing the video. I was just curious to see how the 360 performance with v-sync would compare in numbers with the already v-syncked PS3 version.
Technically speaking, from what I see, this below is the if cycle. For Dark Souls II the iVar1 return 1, so it has uVar 5 = 1 and the program uses this value in the uVar3 below. Generally, with most of games, a value of 1 means unlock but preserving the vsync on. The vsync is controlled by the following if cycle (the second you see below, the one I've marked with (X)), that uses uVar3. In fact, generally speaking for all games, if you change the uVar6 to 00 or another value below 04 (39 6b 00 04 changes to 39 6b 00 00), it turn the vsync off. Probably I have to play with the (X) if cycle, to find how to preserve the vsync. An interesting thing I've seen in most of games, it you change the iVar1 to 03, so you go in the "else" part of the cycle, you have a solution between unlocked with tearing and 30 fps with no tearing. So less tearing but framerate above 30 fps, also on this game. I have to study it better. iVar1 = *(int *)(iVar2 + 14000); if ((iVar1 == 0) || (iVar1 == 1)) { uVar5 = 1; } else if (iVar1 == 2) { uVar5 = 2; } else { uVar5 = -(ulonglong)(iVar1 == 4) & 3; } uVar3 = *(uint *)(iVar2 + 0x2ffc); uVar4 = (ulonglong)*(uint *)(iVar2 + 0x30); if (*(uint *)(iVar2 + 0x38) < uVar4) { uVar4 = Function_829D97E8(iVar2); } uVar3 = Function_829D8E98(iVar2,uVar4,0,0xffffffff829ea918, (ulonglong)(uVar3 >> 0x17) & 0x7f | uVar5
JC2 is already at 30 fps. You should try with a test mod I've done to unlock the framerate, but it seems to gain only more responsive commands. I hope to upload something soon.
iirc Just Cause 2 is wildly varieble while unlocked (I played a v-syncked unlock) and it would go as high as mid 50s and as low as mid 20s on busy scenes (on the PS3 version). Expect a slightly better performance on a v-syncked unlock on the 360.
Not too much. I've set the GPU temp limit to 70 °C and the console never reached this value. I'm using a fat xbox 360 for my channel since 2021, after changing the thermal paste, and it's still OK.
Probably, but it depends on everyone's sensitivity. For me it's better a high framerate than a little tearing effect (so Xbox 360 version for me is better), but someone prefers lower fps with no tearing (so the PS3). The problem with PS3 version is it goes often under 30 fps.
@@inrave2627 did you play the PS3? You're clearly exacerbating some stuff though I can agree on the game running pretty bad (caused by the v-sync always being on and the cpu+gpu bottlenecks).
