This is so liberating! I started out drawing faces in pencils for a few years. Then I tried watercolor and wanted it on my faces. Hit a wall , stopped doing both. It’s encouraging to do it your style, with no constraints about “rules”; more like having fun creating anything. I need this fun to get back to what I enjoyed before, before I lose my dexterity. Thank you very much, Liron!!! 👍❤️
Coming across your channel has changed my outlook on watercolor. Let me just say that I appreciate the other artists on this platform so much, but I just can’t here another creator tell me no matter what I do it will be wonderful. It’s refreshing to hear an artist tell me what I need to to do in order to improve, no bs, no fluffing. I’m excited to use your pointers to improve my painting.
It was entertaining watching you paint your self portrait and the process of painting directly without first doing a pencil sketch. Excellent tutorial.
So happy to see you painting a self-portrait-- I do remember asking you to do one. Love how you did this -- it just highlights your inimitable style & showcases your amazing talent. I've hit the notification bell so as not to miss any future videos. Thank you for sharing, Liron, I've learnt so much from watching you paint. (Will try to do my next family portrait in a much looser style.)😊
I must say Liron...I love your videos. So many videos push specific formulas for how to paint and steps, etc. While it is necessary to learn the fundamentals I love your free approach of "Just do what you want, play, have fun creating"
I have stated doing just about the opposite thing recently. While using a Thorvald mechanical carpenter's pencil, I discovered that the regular lead is water soluble. They don't brag or mention it. I have just started playing with it, but I am having fun with using it in my watercolors. I am starting out with dark values already set and adding color to a loose values sketch that blends into the watercolors. Nothing i would want to show to anyone yet, but it's a fun option.
You made a very handsome groom Liron ~ such a motivating factor to my artistic journey❤! FYI yesterday when I was making a painting I did in fact, correct it by making the area around a section that needed to look darker. I actually lightened the area around it to bring it much more to the forefront, and worked perfectly great advice. You can correct problems by leaving the problem alone and improving the area around the problem spectacular!
Thank you this was exactly what I needed for this moment in time. It feels frustrating when you wanna paint freely and flow, but your programing of thinking you need to paint accurately kicks in...But just watching how you do it helps a lot :)
This is fun! I will try it with another type of subject. Maybe a car. My last painting was a baby portrait, I probably used 8 glazes, it’s beautiful absolutely but free, no. Looks close to the photo. I get totally lost in it. I love your style. I haven’t really landed on a style yet, I’ve been painting 2 years now.
I’m digging your work and loving your wisdom and advice. I want to dive into watercolor after feeling a bit disenchanted with gouache, which feels very “in between” to me (neither translucent nor quite like oil.) Watercolor can be intimidating though.
When I lose my hustle, or sometimes when I finish a section and feel it's still bland, a voice in my head says, "MAKE IT ART!" and then I lose my restraints and get in there. Mistakes happen. But, is it really art if there are no mistakes and the handling of them?
Hi Liron, I would like to try some Lebenzon Brushes, as i am a student I don`t have to much spare money, could you lend me some? No, I just wanted to ask if there`s a chance you could renew your discount code, on the homepage it says it has expired. Thank you so much for your great work!
Haha 😂 You got it! 💵 I reached out and they are now renewed. Use Liron for a 15% off. I believe it was 20% in the past, so please note that it should be 15% now. Let me know if you get them and how you like them 🙏
You need to auction this piece off to your students. I would love to have a picture of my favorite artist!
Haha perhaps I will! 😁 Thank you 🙏

❤ that’s so cool love that you did not use lines what a great self portrait. Very handsome.😊
It is such a treat to watch Liron do these quick little paintings from start to finish.
LIRON, is amazing how much you helped me , thank you so much! Also, as an Israeli expat - all i can say take care , i pray every day
What I like as much as your painting is your philosophy behind your art. A true teacher ❤️

Just trying to say it like it is, with nothing in excess (:

Thank you! So happy you enjoyed this one 😁🙏
Will definitely do more direct paintings (though not another self portrait for a while haha!)
The important thing is to allow myself to get into flow. It’s an amazing blessing to be able to go there.

Oh my goodness I love this! I’m going to have to break down and try some hot press paper. Great picture!
Wow, excellent! I just took 2 selfies to practice this tomorrow while at my painting session with friends.
I love your spontaneity! Your work is amazing and I love your style! Great lesson today. 😊

That is cool! I always afraid to not use a pencil. My father saying that I have try to free my mind and use such a technique . Though, I'm scared :(

Woow so fast, thank you so much!
is your course Frustrated with watercolor about these themes?
Yes, it has very similar themes!
There's not a fully direct (no pencil lines) process there.
But it's as close as it gets (:
Bro do u speak Georgian by chance?
I wish! Though I did visit Georgia not too long ago, and had a wonderful time 😊 🇬🇪
@@LironYan daaayum bruh nice
