They leave the 4th gear in place because its not a gear, its just directly connecting the input shaft to the output shaft, where the layshaft and all gears arent loaded at all. Thats why you needed to change that input shaft with gear on it too, to close up the gap between the 2nd gear and the direct drive, which used to be your 4th.
Laughing here. Class videos. I used work on them yokes when they were new, I delivered a pure solid HAYPE of balers with a 40k 12145! Some yoke. Bit terrifying on the brakes when ya would lep on them, at full tilt, mind. But sher that was part of the craic
You have to swop gears around in box first gear you take out second gear is used for first 40k gear shaft will fit where 3was done lots of boxes years ago think I have few kits still
Simple enough just swop cogs around have to diegrind gearbox housing little bit to get bigger cog on shaft in also selector shaft in gearbox you said with hole in shaft for start switch was ant in late70 early80 I always fitted these shafts in gearbox with different drivers

We have a 30k 9245 crystal and her H pattern is the same as what u drew there for the 40k. I thought all the crystals where the same pattern I can’t remember what the older ones where we had I was only a chap.
@@CianKenneally an auld lad told me once that the Crystal was the most mechanic friendly designed tractor ever! Zetor even put in a seat in the back of the cab for the farmer to bring his mechanic everywhere with him 🤣🤣🤣 Good luck with it, looking forward to watching the progress 👍🏻
We had 3 Zetor tractors. Z 25K 1957, Z 7045 1981 & Z 6245 1990. Now we've got Case IH 1056 XL 1990, the best tractor we ever had.

Might be wort trying Jer Clarke’s for selector is lift stuck up or down probity valve stuck must give you my mobile number
