  • Hello friends, I had the idea to think about all the things I purchased in 2023 and share my BEST and my WORST purchases of the year. I've divided it up into different categories: Ephemera, Art Supplies, Fountain Pens and Inks, Pen Cases, Notebook Covers, and Planners. At the end, I'm chatting about some personal highs and lows too. Thank you so much for watching!
I'm having a hard time adding cards to the video so all the things I said I was going to link in the cards are missing. If you want to check out anything I mentioned please leave a comment and I'll find it for you. Thank you!

Oh man, you're video really touched me because I have been having such an issue with my consumerism! I'm very much an agonizer about stationary and pens and all the pretty shinies but every time i get my order, i always have SOMETHING that gets tossed to the wayside. I promise myself that I'm going to use the new thing that I want to buy that i have the same thing of but in the end, it never happens!
In the new year, I really hope to keep myself accountable on spending on the supplies!

I have a suggestion for your back pain. I have 2 things that really help me. One is a Sissel Sitfit Plus, it’s filled with air and causes dynamic sitting instead of static sitting. So you’re basically in movement while sitting which helps build core strength. The same thing happens when sitting on a Pezzi-Ball or gymnastics ball (different sizes for different heights). Both are really useful sitting tools. I basically had a sitting job and at age 58, I have a few older herniated discs as well as joint wear (arthrosis) and building core strength as well as sitting dynamically has helped me the most. I wanted to share my experience because it could benefit you as well.

Hey Simone! Dodolulu is amazing! The illustrations also look just like me - I love them. I‘d definitely get prime colors for your water color palette- you can mix any of your specialty color shades by using prime colors. But no worries - I made a lot of regret purchases in 2023 as well. Partly because if I start a new journey, I go overboard. Like say I want to start stamping - okay - I feel the need to buy everything associated with stamping - and then when it all arrives - I feel totally overwhelmed, put it all in a container and never use it. I know, that’s bad and I feel terrible about it! I‘m working on a new mindset, but it’s so hard! Thank you for sharing your „mistakes“! Have a great weekend!

Enjoyed this video and I think it's good for all of us to reflect on our purchases, even if we sometimes make the same mistakes. LOL. Live and learn a little more each time :) I do enjoy the talk of all the consumerism... it seems to be a bit crazy at times especially the pre-orders because they create a sense of urgency, like you won't have a chance if you don't order it now. In some cases it is true that stuff sells out, but often it is not... or you can probably survive using something else anyway. LOL. I fall into the trap all the time, so I don't have a solution HAHA! TFS your thoughts!

I love this video! And you! I have started cutting out my PET tape and putting it in a sticker release book as well. I use it so much more! Washi I still can't figure out how to incorporate. You may want to hang onto that folio palette as storage for swapping in and out pans in your smaller one as you fall in and out of love with colours or types of things you are painting. Thank you for encouraging me to start my channel! It is all your fault that I have more friends now!

You and your videos are marvelous! Don't stress - you are appreciated for your input about your experiences with your pens, notebooks, all of it. You really have more of us out here going through the exact emotions about purchases, wish lists, etc. Knowing your feedback helps the rest of us so much. Our passions are often emotion driven, so we fall in and out of Love with our "Pen Things", and we discover our old loved things again. THANK YOU!

Thank you for creating videos that provide a thoughtful review of your purchases. Like any hobby on UA-cam, often there is so much focus on the new and shiny that then creates a FOMO response in me. It is very refreshing to watch your videos because you have a more mature and responsible attitude to shopping which in turn helps me to not go overboard in my spending.

Thank you so much for this video! I really appreciate your honesty. I was feeling left out on a hobby I had not discovered until this year. I have always kept a journal/planner but was never really consistent with it. After this year, I felt bombarded with so much information and temptation to fall into the trap. Well, I did end up purchasing a daily journal and a small planner for my pocketbook. I also purchased the traveler’s company sets, one standard size and one passport size. I didn’t go crazy purchasing all the accessories because I knew these two sets would only be used for my traveling trips.
I really hope I use my two journals/ planners this coming year. I would hate for that money to go to waste. 😢 Next year will be different. Thanks again! 💕

Thank you so much For another great video. Love your honesty. I have the same issue with planner confusion each year. But finally I think I’ve managed to control it 😅this year. The washi calendar is fab. She reminds me of myself too. Wishing you a 2024 where your back becomes longer and springier so you can be pain free and bounce around. The fact that you can be so true to yourself when in pain just shows what a wonderful person you are!

Thank you SOOOOO MUCH for sharing with us!!! Yes, all the ink swatches are LOVELY and FUN to look at, not to mention the pens! After you turned around the camera and spoke to the camera about so many things! SOOO many people cat *relate* to you!
I'm sorry for all the bad things that you have experienced!!! Unfortunately, *THAT* is something I can relate to. Just this year...in February, I FINALLY started to dive down the rabbit hole! I had a cycling accident, almost 8 years ago. I was on a training ride for AIDS/ Lifecycle ride. 2 Miles from the end, no one SAW my accident, but the doctors figured either I hit a pothole (I don't think so - I used to ride motorcycles...and I was ALWAYS looking around!), or an animal ran out so I slammed on my brakes I went over the handlebars and hit my head. Don't worry, we are ALL required to where helmets! The helmet, which I had JUST purchase the week before, saved my LIFE!!! Thankfully, they are even SAFER now!!!
The doctor's ALL told me to WRITE!!! As I have a #TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), so I talk *funny* , don't have great balance, and get *DISTRACTED* all the time!!! I MUST write everything down!!!
Thanks to YOUR videos, I have LEARNED so much!!! Thank you!!!

Danke. Your Schon Ultem experience reminds me of my Platinum Preppy M nib, when I alternated between M & reverse XF in my writing at a whim. It is now my EDC, and many more Preppies (two Wah collections, and one of every nib size.) FP itch is real, and hard to resist, hence my personal FP show pen moratorium. Hope 2024 sees less regrets, and more joy.

lovely lady, cool video, i like your shelf design behind you, i am going to make one too. you might want to check out chondroitin glucosamine for back pain, that's what helps me, that and msm, methylsulphermethane, odorless sulphur. and i haven't done this yet, but, garlic fights a lot of viruses, so i'm going to try to eat garlic toast every day and see if it helps. i hope you have a lovely christmas

The section of the TWSBI pops off of the nib unit. There are little notches on the inside of the grip that line up with tabs on the nib collar, so that you can keep the colored section.

    • @seemownay
      @seemownay  6 місяців тому +1

I am aware of that however, I don't enjoy the AL grip section, so usually I just keep the transparent section on the nib.
