I would much rather have a swim pond than a swimming pool, any day! So beautiful and blends so much better into the surrounding environment. Great way to relax and connect with nature.
I think this is one if not my favorite swimming pond. Its not MASSIVE, its cozy and well thought. I love the fact that he built it for snorkeling and its many of us dream too to swim in our aquariums!
@@waterscapesaustralia8759 One day I will have the money to get something like this put in my own yard up in Cairns. I used to make them myself years ago but my health failed me so I just can't do what I want to do anymore. Looks like you might be the man to get it done mate. I love your work. what price would you have quoted for this pond roughly?
Thoroughly enjoyed being part of the build for this one and had the opportunity to visit back in March this year. Can't get over the plant growth that happens so quick in the Wet Tropics of Queensland
AMAZING! I’m so glad to have spent a week there in October helping to build this and learning so much from Patrick. Just an amazing place. All of it. Can’t wait to visit again now it’s finished. Magical.
What more can you say other than, holysh*t! That pond is bananas!!! Thanks for sharing it with us, Patrick. You do GREAT work. Amazing tour of the work being done Down Under, Gentlemen!
I have enjoyed this Down Under series more than any other videos out! Also have tweeted and posted more from this series. Thanks...I'm glad you Love Your Job! 😂😂😂
It does seem Patrick has taken the mantra of Customers served right to a whole new level. He has taken the idea of the Aquascape lifestyle to the max and lives what he preaches. This would be a perfect size for what my sister has in mind to do and she is only an hr from Patrick, so he would be the contractor to do it. It might take a few yrs but I can't wait for it to be built.
AWESOME POND, AWESOME VIDEO, & thank you Patrick, Greg & Brian for sharing this slice of Paradise with us. Quick request for Greg, please go to Taylor Deans house & trick out her atrium.
Already is Scott , see the bananas? They are now over 2.5 meters tall. The red stemmed Thalia is flowering and trailing over the gorge. It’s getting there real quick :)
@@waterscapesaustralia8759 yeah I saw the thalia, its one of my fav water plants :) loving those frangipannis, those mango though wow....really makes me miss the tropics, can't wait to see an update
Thanks Ed. That was a great trip you led us on. Having experienced everything you said I only wish I could remember everything you said so I could repeat it word for word for our customers who love their ponds like I do. Replicating Mother Nature’s Ecosystem is THE way most people will get the most enjoyment from their water feature!
I never even thought a beach was possible, thank you Guys. You explained the processes of the what, where & why. We all have the whys even the what's but the missing link was the how's. Amazing vlogs. Again thank you!
HOLY SCHNIKES!! These guys made an amazing pond. That beach is awesome, and it’s gunna contribute some major denitrification as it matures. Probably turn into a big grass bed if it’s not disturbed a lot
I think I know this place . I believe it's near the end of a no through road at Garners Beach , just north of Bingal Bay / Mission Beach . Great location, absolutely beautiful pond and landscaping .🏝👍👍
OMGOODNESS!!!! I’m so excited you’re in Australia. I have started on my own small ( 15m x 12m & 5m x 7m approx) fresh water dipping ponds. Cost will mean it’s DIY but an online shop in/ships to Australia is MAGIC. Bunnings pond supplies are average st best ❤️❤️❤️❤️
That pond is ultra clear... He's swimming and I'm not seeing a bunch of floating organic matter/waste. The rocks aren't coated in algae and sediment... like a few of the ponds I've seen highlighted on the channel, they're natural looking elements but you know they were built; however, this looks like it was something they built the house around... Kenan pound, for example was amazing, but as natural as it looked it still seemed like something built to replicate nature, this looks like it was made by nature itself.. this is a gorgeous pond
Do the crocks ever come visiting? How in the world did you find one piece of plastic liner so large? So beautiful. It is amazing what a ton of money can buy. I want one, too.
It looked like the filtering area was notably smaller (on the top) than 3,5x4,5 meters. So I assume that part of the surface is covered with larger rocks. Doesn't it affect the filtering capacity in any negative way? Thanks! Another question. I am certain to install some sandy areas in my pond (if it ever materializes). But not sure why should the layer be so thick - for it not to slip down the liner slope? Or it was just dug like a standard "shelf", and thus covered with sand just like that? One more about sand. Would there be any extra protective layer above liner, so as not to damage the liner due to more abrasive features of sand - when being walked in a thin layer? Thanks!
The 3.5 x 4.5 filter is edged with rocks and so appears smaller - doesnt affect the filtration capacity, the water is still moving up through pebble etc . Beach is built over a area prepared very much like the regular terraces and at least 300 mm deep . We use geotextile and some smaller pebble installed in one layer before the sand goes in

How amazing well done Patrick I would love to see an updated video on how it looks now.

Wow I thought that pond was incredible during the day but at night...spectacular.
