Laco Cuxhaven - Can it compare to a Weiss watch? 😍 Or, is this watch the same old, same old? 🙄

- What is up, my watch friends?!? So, check this out… a Laco Cuxhaven came through on a watch tour, so I'm excited to check it out. In short... I dig it! However, whenever I look at it, I constantly am thinking about (and comparing it to) the Weiss 42mm Standard Issue Field Watch, which I'd like to get.
For whatever reason, this Laco Cuxhaven also stirs up fond memories of my short time with the Limited Edition Weiss 42mm Titanium American Issue Field Watch | Ultralight with Aluminum CAL 1003, so I recommend watching those videos in my Weiss Watches playlist (link below).
Let me know: Would you like to see a head-to-head comparison of this Laco and a Weiss field watch? If so, is a simple not-a-review and comparison of each sufficient, or would you rather I go full-on Battle Royale style with that type of video using a ratings system?

I also have the same issue as you with my nearly 8" wrists. I have a little section in the drawer in my 24 watch watchbox that just holds all the second keepers that I've taken off. LOL

I agree. I've only gotten my hands on a few Laco so far, but this one is by far my favorite.

Wow, I agree with almost everything you said here. I like everything about that Laco except, like you said, the lume should be blue. Also one thing you didn't really talk about. I don't think this is really "Made in Germany" like when we think about made in America. This watch was assembled in Germany with a Swiss made movement. And the watch has now gone up in price. Over $1800 US. Fun fact, you can no longer choose USA or America on the website to get it in US dollars. You have to choose the British flag for English and then convert euros to dollars... Anyway, for my $1800 there are many assembled in the US with a Swiss movement watches that I like as well or better. :)

FYI Weiss moved to Tennessee a first months ago. That's why it no longer says LA.
Cool video Josh. Same movement in my Laco ULM special pilot's model & Zelos Skyraider v2 skeleton (as you mentioned). Both of which gets 54 - 55 hours consistently.
Leaning towards both if I already didn't have 2 watches with that movement. Although I'm starting to get hooked on the ETA 6497/6498!
Both ETA 6497/6498 are 36.6mm in diameter so you have a big display window on a 42 - 42.5mm case. On the other hand, the ETA/Peseux 7001 is only 23.3mm in diameter hence why it has a tiny display window on the Zelos Nova 38mm case. I have a Christopher Ward C5 Malvern 595 (39mm; 5.95mm thin) & it has a small display window due to the 7001 as well. Just an FYI. Love both of them!
It's nice to see the Cuxhaven still getting the accolades it does. It is definitely one of the nicer pieces I have received through Watch Gang.
PS 22/20=22mm at the lugs taper to 20mm at the buckle
if they added the Los Angeles back to the watch I would totally buy this watch in blue. I lived in LA for 10 years and loved everything about the city. This would be great!
Love this watch Josh - mostly prefer just to wear a give watch but love everything about this piece , i seem to remember you saying in your last video that you had blown your watch budget out of the water but yet so excited to buy another Weiss :) your wife must love you and also have the patience of a Saint lol , she also does a fantastic job in editing your videos - take care mate and hope you and all your family have a wonderful Christmas
hahaha, yes, my wife is definitely smitten with me and also has the patience of a Saint. As they say... I married up. 😂 Plus, I agree to, and always adhere to the principle of, never allowing a hobby or anything else within my control to put us in financial jeopardy. Thankfully, God has been very gracious and good to us. And, thanks for the compliment on her editing (she just told me that she read your comment and she had a huge smile on her face... so thanks for that, brother!).
