3rd time at Twickenham in the last month, and what an enjoyable experience! Should thank Borthwick for not picking so much talent, so they could play for quins instead! Better than the borefest of the last 2 six nations home games! And there was actually an atmosphere here, with under half the attendees! Not a corporate in site!
It looked like all the seats were sold out from my seat! Except the v top tier seats
Harlequins play great attacking rugby, hence why England have taken Nick Evans their attack coach
Only difference is all the 6 Nations teams including Wales and Italy would beat Harlequins…
International rugby defence is another level to club rugby, look how physical Italy are as a team, who are yet to win a game.
Other than Marcus Smith (who will start against France) and Danny Care, none of those Harlequins players on Saturday night deserve to start for England, with Murley maybe on the bench
Steve Borthwick needs to win games and build confidence again before World Cup, Harlequins aren’t even top of the Prem…
@Jake Howie. Thank you for educating me there 👍 Although I am obviously well aware of the difference between the Premiership and international level. My comment was more aimed at the sad state the crowd has become at England matches now, than what goes on the pitch. Pointing out it was good to see Twickenham full of Rugby fans, as apose to a bunch of corporate day outers, who get paraletic and have no interest in watching Rugby!
Smith, Morley, Marchant have all missed out at England for the time being but hopefully this is a mistake that can be rectified as they were top drawer in this game 👍🏿
England don't play against GPL defences.
@@14nst3w4rt apologies but what does GPL stand for as I don't recognise the acronym?
guinness premier league
@@chrisjones7236 thanks pal
Gallagher not Guinness
quins are brilliant . marchant marler and smith all are brilliant. i think they will in the squad this week. quins hope you will continue this against bristol bears . 💥💥💥💥
The Chiefs were punished for having a rush defence in the first half and then when they held back in the second they got stung again. Beautiful style of play from Quins
Yes, Smith is the best ten in England by far. He is not only an entertainer, but he is a game changer player, a winner.
Unfortunately, this does not imply that he is the best choice for the boring style of play that England is showing.
That's the sheer truth: if you don't want to give him the freedom to play real rugby, it is best not to pick him like Borthwick is doing...
So true. I keep saying this. Marcus has that bit of magic to create something out of nothing or find space that England need if they want to beat the top 3 teams. Exciting open rugby. Farrell is a solid performer but he should be on the bench to come on and close out games or for injuries.
@Joe and play who instead?
Bahahahha
England always kill the careers of their most talented 10s...cipriani now Smith getting the short end of the stick.... Sad case
He's a poor man's Charlie Hodgson. Looks world class at club level but just isn't that special at international.
Marcus Smith is a very talented 10, but he has the benefit of having a 9 and 12 that take a lot of the pressure off him and give him the space and time he needs to perform so well for Quins. For England he is not afforded quite the same luxury.
Best comment by far! You sir, know your rugby.
Definitely true, van Poortvliet is 1 dimensional. So bring Smith back, and put Care in at 9, or Mitchell!? OL at 12.
@@Calmdown1354 Care at 9 - Ha Ha Ha Ha - just don’t put a mirror anywhere near him - he’ll fight with Smith to stand in front of it
@Chris baxter cool story bro 👍
@@Calmdown1354yep i agree with that but I don’t think care wants to come back ???
So happy for quins, to lose six previous games in a row to this just amazing
And yet Farrell will still get the England spot..... Smith is the best no10 out there if given the chance
you have to build the whole team, especially when England is the attacking side, around him then. Borthwick doesn't want to take the risk, unfortunately...
@@joestrummerful yes, that's the point many are missing: is like having a ferrari, but driving with the speed limit.
If you pick him at 10 you must change the boring kicking style that Borthwick is famous for
Why replace a man who never lets England down? A large part of Owen Farrel's game is inside the shirt. Smith is a huge talent for sure, he's not the first sportsman to have to wait his time. It'll be a sad day for England when Farrel steps down let's not rush it
@@asacarrick1385 can't wait for the moment when we're gonna miss no-arms tackles.
Exeter and man united have a lot in common, we both dipped in 2021 and we've suddenly got our assess handed to us
Brilliant, Quins!
Why not run Smith and Care on the England bench? Bring them on together on 50 and let them go?
Marchant pass not forward?
No, during the game we had a better angle shown.
COYQ!
A rampant Quinn’s against a beleaguered Exeter
You didn't mention or show the score.
Twickenham showered in flowing champagne rugby……..not often that happens anymore
Well missed forward pass smith no try, I'd say they were lucky😂
haha they're the complete team
exeter highlights:
*roll credits*
Get Danny Care back in the England team
Smith is Englands best 10 by a country mile and if he doesn’t start against France with Lawrence and Slade/Marchant at 12 and 13 i won’t be watching, sick of watching Farrell kick everything away
Enforce protective headgear and stop these ridiculous yellows and reds for head-to-head contact.
Or hear me out - bend into the tackle…
Hope Farrell is watching and does the honourable thing by stepping down!
Marcus Smith is a prem level show pony.
Exeter fan I take it 😘
Smith is good, but massively overrated by his stans. He's not an international level fly-half, where the comp and and physicality is much tougher.
I think he will be, people forget how damn young he is. Just needs time at 10 with proper centres... We'll get to see that on the weekend.
Marcus Smith can stay at Quins, he's terrible at international level.
Chiefs you failed miserably.......what a defeat........come on you can play a lot better than this.........back to the drawing board........lets hope you will improve......fingers crossed
Smith very good at this level - but he’s no England saviour at 10 - too flaky and inconsistent- and a Southern poseur
I've alway wondered who's fastest between Murley and Rees-Zemmit
LRZ is quicker, Radwan is quicker than both.
"assist" do stop trying to be football!
Smith is his own worst enemy, if he wants to be first choice 10 for England under Borthwick he needs to change his image. He can't help what he looks like but he could become more old-school with his demeanor, expressions and haircut. He looks slightly odd for a rugby player but I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe shave his head and see how that goes.
What an odd comment 🤔
@@Calmdown1354 his hair is quite annoying 😂 but I think he has a largely good and competitive demeanour tbh
Marcus Smith is so annoying
Why?
@@PhillipAlcock English and good I would guess
He's an awesome player. Remember hes only like 22, still got a lot of maturing to do and he could be a real asset for England if given the right tools
@@henryherbert Just turned 24! He only led Quins to a Premiership title at 22, so he's rubbish really
