Absolutely , thermacell works . placed under and as close to center of blood source ( this means you ) is the ideal location . 15' zone will vary with the wind direction , and with enough wind effectiveness will suffer and so will you . I use mine hunting and always wondered how they found me 30' up a tree . Turns out they feed heavily on birds ! Probably also squirrels and coons and possums !

This really isnt a good review. Flextail literally has 4 separate models, 2 tinys; 1 with and without a power bank. Than they have 2 bigger models even lasting up to 28hrs. You most likely just got a bad model, they one you have probably has manufacturer defects...

Maybe yours is defected? I will give it a try and still use my thermacell. I have been refilling the butane for years to save money and would order the pads from Asia. For some reason, it is harder to find them on ebay now. Great video! I just suffer wearing long sleeve self wicking shirts and pants in the summer when outside. @@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA Yes I watched. Scientifically you will find varying results from users online. What seems to be happening is that some species of mosquito reacts favorably to the technology and some do not. Out here in the high alpine Rockies I have found that out species of mosquito really are immune to the thermacel technology and I got ate alive. As with any tech, results may vary. Personally deet is unbeatable, but again not everyone can use deet. What seems to work best is a combination of an attractant and kill device using heat and CO2 and treating my clothes with permethrin. Both kill mosquitoes and are easily backpacked.

Thanks for the test, I'm wondering if it is influenced by air temp? If ambient temp is hot then it could easilly get up to operating temp, but in cooler conditions, maybe the unit is struggling to reach that range? I have 2 units, one has already failed on me at 12c, not tested the other yet. but if correct, then I may try just using the pads around or in a twig stove! BTW I'm in UK and using them in Northumberland and Scotland against midges, usually 10 - 15 degrees C in these parts.

Well it was hot for this test so it shouldn’t have been an issue I think it’s just cheap quality, they are sending a replacement which I will again test fairly!

I would NOT be sniffing the pads. The ingredients on your light device looked like insecticide(you barely flashed the label), rather than repellent. If going to use insecticide, Spray your clothes with a permethrin solution, like Sawyer's. Thermacell works better in an enclosure like a blind, but still would not be sniffing the vapors directly from the machine.

I use sawyers on all my hunting gear and sniffing these pads like I did would have zero effect on my body the ingredients in them both are safe solutions to repel mosquitoes
The two ingredients listed were : prallethrin & meperfluthrin

I have been using a Thermacell ever since they came on the market and when I have something that proves it works I stay with it. I've used it locally here in Central Florida , mid-south Florida at Fisheating Creek and south in the Everglades & 10,000 Islands areas. Not a single skeeter bite when it's on. The darn thing even works in Canada , The Okefenokee Swamp and over in Louisiana & even Texas.

I haven't used my thermacell yet, i got it on sale last year for camping. I am ignorant on these thing so thanks for testing. The instructions say not to handle it until it cools off. I am a gadget guy with 18650 driven devices, and wud have been a sucker for the flextail. Btw your mic works very well. You can move and turn and keep the sound consistent. I was nervous at the start in your kitchen as you were already scratching quite a bit. And i did not zoom into your mustache.
