- In this video I test another 3 electric shock prank gadgets from China. An electric shock hand grip, an electric hand buzzer and an electric shock pen. I make a teardown of them and reverse engineer the schematic. I also measure the output current and the peak voltage.

Shock pen is easy to make. You only need sparker from the lighter :)
That's only piezo electric and is very poor compared to a battery powered one. Even the button cell powered ones are poor as they soon loose charge. I was trying to use one as a form of mental conditioning and was crap as it would loose charge too quickly.

Some more power supplies are coming :). I will take a look at 12V 1A and 12V 10A power supplies in the next weeks. Thanks for your suggestion, I may also take a look at some compact module :).

The best element to replace the tiny circuit board is the tiny circuit board :). Why replace something that costs 70 cents. But if you really needed to replace it, you can surely use some simple oscillator with 555, a capacitor and 2 resistors.

Yes, these things are legal in Germany, you can find them at halloween/horror stores. In my city, there's a horror store (with integrated tattoo parlour) that is open year round.
Also about a decade back, i bought a bite zapper at a travel store. It's for harmless but itchy insect bites, to numb the itch to reduce the discomfort and prevent you from scratching yourself, it doesn't have batteries but uses a plunger and piezo cell like in an electric gas lighter to generate electricity, with two electrodes nearly flush with the top of the device, 2-3mm apart, you just put it on the skin across the bite, and activate it to shock yourself a few times, and the button feel is exactly like on a lighter, but i think it's a bit weaker, because i tried to shock myself for comparison with either. It's not actually all that painful, but perhaps it would be if electricity was allowed to travel across more muscle length. It's also supposed to help the inflammation subside faster and lessen the Histamine side effects on your body, but i doubt that it actually does that. I looked up at the store website, and the device that i bought is apparently called "Click-Away Power Version" or "Zanza-Click" and is now listed for 14€ but i don't think i paid that much for it, perhaps it was discounted at the time. The specs are as follows: 14 kV, 0,7 mA, 0,01 ms duration.
