- Teachers in British Columbia have produced this antiracism video about the history of racism in Canada. It includes historical and contemporary examples of racism as well as positive changes in society. Finally, it urges teachers and students to be change-makers within our schools. Lesson plans accompany this and can be found at bctf.ca.
I am American and this definitely confirms what a professor from India told me. There is racism all over the world. Human nature. In-group morality and out-group hostility taken to a whole new level.

I am from Saudi Arabia, we have many races; Africans, Arabs, Asians, and etc and we are fighting racism among those races. Importantly, the racism most existing between Arabian tribes themselves. So widen your thinking and open your eyes.
I have been living in Canada since 1991 and my background is Iranian. People associated my cultural values based on "Not Without My Daughter" movie and ISIS Muslim factions in the Middle East. There were also times that individuals mocked my English accent. There are not that many individuals here in Canada as well as in BC that they do not judge me base on my ascribed status. When I say there is racism in Canada, they get emotional that I am an anti Canadian.
Canada is not a land of opportunity and a multicultural society. It is a land only for White Anglo Saxon Protestant.
I think if Trudeau gets his way, Canada will eventually become as wonderful, open and tolerant as Iran.

I hope you realize that Canada is a vast nation that varies from coast to coast in cultures and acceptance. I live just outside of Vancouver and I don't have any issues with people from different areas of the world, don't judge us all as a small group of people, we're not all the same.

I just can't believe an educated man like Mr. Mahmoody treated his wife such way? I've never seen a Muslim husband agrees to marry his wife if she refuses to convert to Islam. The reason I wrote this line because my father is Buddhist and my mother is Catholic and my parents never impose religion choice on us. We immigrants have to accept the fact that Canadians don't invite us to come here. We're pretty much legal beggars. I don't know about your country but mine, I'm always ashamed of it because if it were as good as Canada I wouldn't have been here. So do your civic duty as a Canadian, take what you can and what Canada gives you. Don't expect it perfect. Peace!

If you forget the past, you may be doomed to repeat it. People need to educate themselves instead of making stupid assumptions like "anti racist means anti white". White racists are anti-white, black racists are anti-black, etc.
I have lived in US / England / Canada and many other countreys and i find Canada to be the most racist .

Canada is made up of all races, we all should be bilingual also we should not be racist I hate this part of life and really hate it bad cause, I ment the love of my life, and I love her more than anything and racism it just sucks slavery is gone and was abolished from Canada why not abolish racism? Furthermore, I think it's cool meeting new people, as long as they are friendly to Canadain citizens born or migrated.

one other point i will add for today is. in this video about Canadian Racism there is an error in referring to the EAST INDIANS as an Indian. Now u have offended the Canadian Indian by including that in your production. My friend sitting beside me tells me that Canadian Indians r referred to as North American Indians, Aboriginal, First Nations and Indian. In India the Indians r called Indians but in Canada they r called EAST INDIANS, among some other things we wont say at this time. understand?
This video had the potential to be a good educational tool but I feel it needs revisions. I didn't think the beginning and ending portions were very well acted and should be left out. I also found the Canadian anthem in the first half to be extremely dry and caused me to lose interest in the videos potential. The second half was very well done and very informative, thank you!

Canadian Racism is like for instance when a Canadian wants to insult an immigrant they do not point their profanity at the immigrant instead they point it at Justin Trudeau for letting immigrants in. I faced it working in a liquor store where a white male asked me where I am from while I was serving him at the cash till, I only understood after a while, why the conversation about where I am from and when I moved to Canada ended up with a swear word for Justin Trudeau?

There was not one mention of any improvements, acts, or acknowledgments of wrong towards blacks (the most discriminated against, and persecuted people in the world), yet you use a black young man for your skit at the end of the video. How sensitive of the cause your are, or not.

The question is more so did the ones who are demanding the taxes EVER have to pay tax to take over this land and colonize it? If not, then no that's racism and unjust to say that you can invade a land that is not yours but you can charge anyone who comes after you to pay. Especially when you're using most of them as slave labor and doing jobs that put their lives in jeopardy when you yourselves were not willing to do it. Did you pay fair compensation for the fact that they could die? No. And it doesn't cost the taxpayers something when those who come here and get jobs pay taxes. Everyone pays taxes on food, shelter and transportation.
