Seeing MSU coming into Bryant-Denny Stadium ranked #1 was almost surreal.

Blake Simms was a really good QB. Would've loved to have seen what he could've done with one more year. Loved, how he was going through his progressions. Actually, AJ, Simms and Coker, all were good a checking their progressions. Nice to see with Tua, and Alabama qb do that again.

@@BuckTide-wx2he Blake was much better than Jalen. Watch him check his progressions. It's a shame he only had one season.

I generally stay neutral in SEC stuff, I've been to most of the places and have a genuine affection for the culture of SEC football. But Have to confess I was sad for Mississippi State on this day,. I know they had a rough bowl game after this and maybe they would have been housed in their playoff game, but this was most likely their best shot given the challenges in Starkville and the name brands they have to beat just to recruit in their own division. Same with Ole Miss against LSU/AUB this season. I know their coach turned out to be a turd, but I think a #1 vs #2 EGG BOWL with the loser probably still getting a playoff berth is an amazing thing to think about. If it didn't completely upend the fabric of our reality. Also crazy to think this is a mildly disappointing Bama team in the scope of Saban's insanely well built program. Cheers y'all.

2019 was a disappointing team for us too bc before that the last time we lost to both auburn and LSU the same year was 2010. Our 2019 defense was the worst I seen as a Bama fan

Die hard bama fan, great win but I'm honestly not sure who the better team was in this game. MSU really had a lot of careless mistakes.

Do you know anything about anything? I refrain from calling you a mentally deficient. I just did I suppose. No.1 falls behind 19-0 and gets a back-door cover. The Mrs. lost 3 games that year. Read a book boy

Wesley Harmon lol and we lost 2 games, just saying they had a bad break go against them with that wild turnover late and some other bounces that went against them. Yeah they were super tight in the first half and we did what a good team should do and capitalized on it. But yeah if that game is in Starkville idk who wins tbh

This randomly showed up on my feed today. All these years later. I'm a State fan. I've never revisited this game and won't watch this video. All I'll say is that over the last 18 years or so we've gotten use to having our ass handed to us by Alabama. The butt-kickings aren't even painful anymore. The real pain comes from the few times we probably should have won the game. 2014 and 2017 are the two times that we probably were the better team that day but couldn't close it out. 2014 was due to silly mistakes early on (which we hadn't made before then that year) and 2017 was due to Jalen Hurts deciding that he had enough that day and took over the game on a long drive that slammed the door shut. That and some suspect officiating when Calvin Ridley plainly goes out of bounds and is allowed too catch a 65 yard pass. But whatever. The losses to Alabama became normal. The missed opportunities became painful.
(Side note, that game in 2017 was the second loudest sporting event I've ever been to behind only the 2014 MSU/Auburn game we won. I've been to BD and JH several times each and while both stadiums are generally louder they have never touched those to games in Starkville. When I'm 60 and deaf it will be because of the damn cowbells. LOL)
And 2024 comes around and we don't play Alabama. Or Auburn. Or LSU. F'n wild times.

Mullen would always do this thing in big games (that he always coached tight in and then proceeded to get bent over by) where: State would be down 2+ scores for the majority of the game or within the last couple of minutes, then narrow the margin down to a more respectable 1 score differential with like 6 seconds left, and proceed to pretend to reporters in the post game interview that the game was in doubt for the entirety of the contest.
    Such a douche lmao

6:34.............what a beautifully designed play. For all of Kiffin's flaws, he's a heck of a playcaller and play-designer. He excels at getting favorable receiving matchups.

MSST games are always weird for Bama. They get us late midseason when we're finally starting to settle in to what we are as a team but not entirely there. So it can either be a blowout (2020) or a squeaker (2016). You just never know.

I think you're giving Miss State too much credit. Look at the scores from Bama's current 15 game winning streak in this rivalry - only two were close.
      2008: 32-7, 2009: 31-3, 2010: 30-10, 2011: 24-7, 2012: 38-7, 2013: 20-7, 2014: 25-20, 2015: 31-6, 2016: 51-3, 2017: 31-24, 2018: 24-0, 2019: 38-7, 2020: 41-0, 2021: 49-9, 2022: 30-6, 2023: 40-17
Bama leads the all-time series 88-17-3 and is 59-7 against them since Bryant was hired in 1958.
