I always liked that Jack stopped and showed respect for the dead pirates.
It more seemed like mock respect, honestly. Lol
Ah I love the sea, I need more pirates of the carribean movies
Sangth he rather have the boat sink than ignore the dead men.
Fun fact: those very pirates he respects are meant to be the bones of Jack Rackham, an actual pirate who was killed for Piracy.
@LordVader1094 Looked pretty sincere to me
That's got to be the best pirate I've ever seen.
So it would seem....

Enter Monkey D Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Shanks, and the rest of the Gang
besides the music what makes this scene so great is that it conveys Jack Sparrows character without saying a word

Truly. Everything you need to know about him showed in an entertaining way in about a minutes time.
cant spell yikes
What about in the dark knight for the joker
1:10 - 1:15 When you study the day before and you pass the exam
And walk like a boss
I think he did
About to study a few days before the exam myself....

Hahaha exactly
Who else agreed that Pirates Of The Caribbean is one of the best Disney movie?
it is
Sonic The Hedgehog And Cindy The Chihuahua
Avengers is Marvel (ik they’re owned by Disney but they’re different)
Yeah, but only the first 3 episodes
@@_GhostMiner yes because disney made them a shit
SO IT WOULD SEEM
love how he's still looking boss and epic while is ship is going under xp
LOL Agree!
Aka when youre broke on a date and have to pay but u chil
As the Pirate Lord of the Carribbean Sea...he has to keep his dignity (also his wits and goofiness) high at all time lol.
Kiyomi Aye but isnt he a poor captain since he did not go down with his ship?
His ship is the Black Pearl, mate (which was stolen by Barbossa and his gang during the event in this video). Not this puny raft lol. You should've realized that he was willing to die along with his beloved Pearl during the climax of Dead Man's Chest.
One of my favorite scenes in ANYTHING.
ItsSomeDeadGuy
Yeah right 😂😂😂
This is the greatest introduction of a main character to any movie. In one scene, with no dialogue, it tells us everything we need to know about him and we're totally in love from the word go.
I'll never forget the first time I saw this, I fell in love with the series straight away. Who's ready for Dead Men Tell No Tales!!!!
Hell Yeah! :)
Fury As Night I loved the first three but after the last installment I'm a bit worried for the next :( I really hated stranger tides, the story lost most of its momentum and enjoyment when the catalysts for the first trilogy (Will and Elizabeth) ended their story.
Zant will turner is back in Dead Men Tell No Tales
Oh, I didn't know. Might be cool then. (Disclaimer: I'm not an orlando bloom fanboy per say, I just meant plot wise :P )
+Fury As Night Will Turner is only in there of 2 scenes.
that moment when you realize how small his boat is
Head Bomb Genius!
And yet look SO badass
He is in the market for a bigger boat.
The Hound and its leaking of water so fast
That my love, is a dinghy
1:05 And that's how you make an impression.
He was literally the heart of the whole franchise and they removed him.
R.I.P Captain Jack Sparrow
He’ll be back. The fans will help bring him back. We’ll keep being 🏴☠️ Pirates against Disney, till we get him back and as for Warner Bros… they’ll be sued for everything they did to Johnny and for supporting Amber and DC Comics.
@@multiverse_media2023 I don’t think Depp wants to be Jack Sparrow anymore. There also probably shouldn’t be a POTC 6 anyway because of how bad the last few movies have been.
Technically they never removed him, there hasn’t been a Pirates movie without him.
@@crackasmackin1899 it's going to be so bad, they're gonna beg for Johnny to return
Only way probably Depp wants to do it If they sold the IP to another company other than WB.
what in the world can possibly be more epic than this... 10/10 this is legendary..!
How 'bout charge of the rohirrim in The Lord Of The Rings-Return Of The King
What makes 11 outta 10 is that it is symbology/truth in plane sight. When you know the symbology that is very cleverly encoded, these movies take on a whole nutha level of awesomeness.
Now that's an entrance...
What really makes this scene great for me is how Jack chooses to honor the fallen rather than save his own boat.
The amount of fucks Jack gives is nonexistent
right.

Emily Grant Arrrghhh... When Barbosa plundered ol' Jack of his fucks, alas he got none.
Do you wish to be one among that??!!😜
LOL
I was an usher when this came out, and I loved watching the crowd during this scene. It's the moment people fall in love with the movie.
They actually still had ushers in 2003?
jack sparrow is clearly my favorite character out of any movie probably.
Thedukeboi
U forgot the captain
Yeahhh, for me Jack and Joker, both are epic
Same :D Captain Jack Sparrow, the best pirate we could ever see...
What about the one-eyed, armless pirate known as.... LARRY
Captain
This series is so underrated. Particularly the second and third movies. Davy Jones was a Darth Vader tier villain, and that third movie was one of the most epic action/fantasy movies I've ever seen in my life. Can't wait for Dead Men Tell No Tales
PoTC is one of the best film franchises ever. The movies are what everyone loves: Goofy, kinda cheesy, action-packed, and most of all fun to watch
Davy Jones still holds up as both a narrative and technical achievement. 14 years later and he still looks amazing. And that’s coming from someone who works in VFX and looks out for bad or outdated VFX work.
umm underrated i am sorry did you really say underrated.all of its movies has higher than 7 rating, and forget the damn rating, this is one of the most popular series of all time, dont just write whatever you feel like on w whim
Even in the deleted scenes where they haven't added CGI, Bill Nighy is magnificent as Jones. He's in those dumb grey pajamas with dots all over his face, but between his body language and voice you still buy this is the devil of the sea
Dude.. I love this series with a passion but I can tell you it is not underrated. It is one of the most well known movie trilogy's of all time and considered some of the greatest movies. They have brought in a lot of money for Disney and some say it is there best movies story wise and character wise. A good proof of this is the sheer fact of what's happening now 2 MILLION people are rising up to give Depp his spot as Captain Jack back. That could not possibly happen for a underrated film series in any circumstance at all.
Jack: "Totally ment to do that"
"I may have deserved that."
Damian Howard grammar police
shows how good a sailor he is he knew his ship will make the port
He's so good, he knew one bucket was enough
He’s so good he can fly a car with no handle wheels while running two miles
I love this scene in particular because the build of character is amazing. Everything this scene shows defines exactly what Jack is.
We start with Jack watching the horizon from the top of the mast, with an epic pose. The take makes us believe Jack has this huge ship, due to the hight he appears to be standing. He looks confident, epic and determined, like a sort of a "winner" if you agree. The scene making us believe that Jack is SOMEONE. But just on the next take, from one second to another, Jack jumps to the buttom of a, what appears to be a tinny tiny boat, were they reveal us two things that are key to understand Jacks character (1) its not a ship, its just a small boat (2) the boat is sinking 😂🤦♀️ and he uses a bucket to keep it at float. All they told us on the first take vs the one with the sinking ship, kinda creates this funny and contradictory persona of Jack: epic, confident and determined, but with all odds againts him.
The next take, the one with the hanging dead corps, hints us two things about Jack (1) he a sort of "Moral Code" related to piracy. This tell us he engages to a piracy code of some sort that he respects (2) They confirm us he is actually a pirate (very important).
The next scene, Jack arrives to port with the boat fully sunken like nothing happened, keeping his integrity all the way. While funny, this is a master piece of a scene. With no words spoken yet, they defined to perfection Jacks character. Metaphorically speaking, Captain Jack Sparrow, who sees himself as a huge imposing ship, is actually a small sinking boat that even againts all odds he manages to get to destination anyways, with an epic entrance. This scene forshadows Jacks character: he is a pirate that will always find a way to get from point A to point B, with nothing stopping him from doing so, no matter the circumstances. With no shame nor nothing to prove, Jack keeps character and hopes high.
In the last scene, were Jack nimbly persuades and also steals from the tax collector, it show us very well Jacks remaining attributes that thrusts his persona: his persuasive, thief and opportunistic nature, his misleading mind games, and most of all... The luck that surrounds him.
All above said, this scene is one to take in note on how to build character. Its simply a master piece.
Couldn't have said it better. Watched this movie for the first time in years last night and was obsessed with this scene, glad to see others are just as in love with it as I am!
Love you for writing this.
That was extremely good timing with his boat about to sink just as it arrives at the dock and he steps off the boat onto the dock. 😂
Great analysis. You must be movie lover.
Hope you got an A am your English assignment
1:05 to 1:15. When you finally reached the end of the week.
Band student here! We played this theme in our band at the concert today! Our teacher said it was too easy, but we managed to convince her to let us - and not only that, she let us project the clip of Captain Jack arriving! It was a beautiful day. We're watching Pirates of the Carribean tonight.
Still one of my favorite all time scenes in a movie. This is how you introduce a character.
and my life's never been the same since.
xminnis mine too
Sameeee.. Ahh those memories.
Same😁
0:48 this is my favorite part. Just the look on his face and that salute sealed the deal for me.
And that, ladies and gentlemen is how you make an entrance.
He walked into the court room the same way.. like a BOSS!
"Do you think he plans all this out, or does he just make it up as he goes?"
Not only is this an amazing character intro, it would not be even close to having the same power without the background skills of Hans Zimmer to create the perfect score to go along with it!
Im sorry to say it but hanz zimmer composed only 2 3 4 not 1 and 5
As a matter of fact, Klaus Badelt composed the score for this first movie in the franchise ............
@@SlartiMarvinbartfast Zimmer essentially ghost wrote the original soundtrack. He was too busy to work on Pirates full time, so he gave most of the composer duties to Klaus. Here's Hans's original demo that Klaus would build off of ua-cam.com/video/D6wsGESeNjk/v-deo.html
One could write a whole book on Jack Sparrow's character just looking at this scene.
CAPTAIN jack sparrow
Still remains the most legendary intro to any franchise
I don’t care what anyone does or says but nothing will ever beat Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow!
Captain jack sparrow

The first time I saw this scene, I just knew I was going to love this movie lol
1:06 is basically me in every job interview ever
1:05 That is real swag right there!
I wish I could rewatch this film for the very first time so I could fall in love with Jack all over again.
This has to be the best character introduction in the history of cinema
A momentous victory happened this day. Captain Jack Sparrow does exactly what he sets out to do no matter the odds, both on and off the big screen.
You will all remember this as the scene that you were introduced to Captain Jack Sparrow.
1:13 that little step he takes right before the scene cuts cracks me up everytime 🤣

Perfect! Love this!
1:21 Disney: we don’t want you anymore😈
@kangtheconqueror7671 Johnny: that's okay didn't want to come back anyway.
Watching this cuz of the victory and justice. “Take what you can and give nothing back” Ey savvy
HE FINALLY WINNNSSS!!!!
I am so Happy justice was served!!!
Fun fact: One of the pirates that is hung is said to be 'Calico' Jack Rackham, which is one of the main pirates that Jack Sparrow is based on.
Hence the reason behind his honorable salute to those particular hanging pirates.
He’s back in business !
Paying Respect to the fellow fallen pirates, trying to solve a virtually unsolvable problem by keeping the boat floating while soaked, keeping his head up high even if his boat sank, Captain Jack Sparrow show us that nobility, perseverance and the unrelentless will to believe in hope can be found even in the toughest moments of our lives. It's a pirate's life for me!
You wrote what was in my mind!
Thank you.
Yo ho mi matey yo ho!
Well said. The modern day bankers who run a huge part of maintaining this false reality matrix world system we are enslaved within are trying to stem the leaking ship/money control system that is nearing a fast end. They are the successors who have inherited the crumbling system of control but they honour their predecessors by maintaining their evil original plan to the very end.
A few weeks ago, my family and I were playing Charades. And when it was my turn I did Jack's Introduction to the first Pirates Of The Caribbean Movie, him grabbing the rope and jumping down to the bottom of the Jolly Mon, picking up the bucket scooping out the water taking my hat off and showing respect to the dead pirates and then even stepping off the mast onto the dock just before the ship sank.
But, the funny thing is that NONE of my family guessed Jack Sparrow lol!
This scene has become even more legendary due to recent events.
And that’s why Captain Jack Sparrow is the most fearless pirate of all time
So happy for Johnny! Long live Captain Jack Sparrow 😂😂 🖤🖤🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
This movie is a masterpiece.
daddy depp prevails just like captain jack sparrow always did
Captain Jack Sparrow sure made quite an entrance at Port Royal! That scene will never get old!
Congrats Johnny! Justice for Johnny Depp
0:00 - 0:14
Me when I see Johnny Depp win against Amber
this is one of the most epic moment of the modern cinema history. we didn't know it back then, but we were witnessing the birth of one of the most iconic cinema character of all times. the scoring, first pose of johhny depp without saying a word, funny tone of the scene, and god, the look in his eyes... damn it's just too perfect.
You know why I’m here
In two moments we have all the tones of this character and its freaking awesome
The scene really portrays jack for what he is, just a mediocre pirate who makes himself look mystical and powerful, which it actually working every time. Just look here Jack's on a terrible mediocre ship, but when it comes in it's sinking, it looks mystical, and all while everyone who sees it isn't able to tell how big Jack's boat really is.
The Art-Theist dude he is faaar from mediocre pirate...how many pirates have godly objects on them ?
CAPTAIN Jack...
Yeah the guy isnt mediocre. Its just that no one ever takes him seriously which is usually his advantage.
AND THE BACKGROUND WERE SO REALISTIC !!
The Art-Theist Mediocre? You do realize you are talking about CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow.
Usually it is the actor who turns into the character. but here the character is molded by the actor that is why no one can replace johnny as jack sparrow.
Jack Sparrow- Me walking to class late
The Boat- The hallways
The Dock- My classroom
Dead Pirates- Kids getting yelled at by their teacher for being late.
underrated comment
We will miss u Captain Jack Sparrow🥺
The first appearence of a character is its most important moment. This one is a lesson. Epic, sad, funny, all in one. Great job !
How Johnny Depp is feeling leaving the trial.
Johnny Depp entering the courthouse
LET'S GOOOOO EVERYONE... WE WON
I swear I did not expect that before I first saw the movie... but that's what kept me watching XD
every now and then I watch this scene just to marvel at how camera, music and a bit of acting work together to create a great character introduction.
This might be the best 90 seconds of character introduction in all of film. From his quirky chaos to his ethics, you really learn everything about Jack Sparrow just in this one perfect scene. Love it!
Johnny after winning the case.
omg the music gives me goosebumps lol that means it is good music
That’s a given when you have Hans Zimmer on your payroll. Your movie might even suck, but the music will be at least great.
1:02 if you finish your exam first and leave the classroom and everybody is watching you
1:02 when you're done with kicking someone's ass in school then walk away as everyone watches you
#JusticeforJohnnyDepp
Most epic entrance ever forever....really doubt anyone can exceed it
Probably one of the most iconic entrances in movie history.
This is the day you will always remember as the day you almost falsely accused Captain Johnny Depp
Agree
So it would seem.
1:05 I love how the music still sounds grand and epic, only to reveal how low his boat has sunken. But the way he walks off suggests this was always part of his plan. It's so damn hilarious yet epic in it's own way
A good Captain knows exactly what he can get out of his ship.
Only Captain Jack Sparrow can turn a fail (him *literally* sinking his own goddamn ship) into a spectacular win (this amazing character introduction worthy of a fucking God).
Yeah Jack Sparrow is the only charecter that can turn horrible fails into godly wins
Somehow I really adore his gesture at 0:48
Yeah what is it tho?
Who’s here after Johnny won?
What a wonderful time for Johnny Depp. I hate what he’s going through today though. 😢🙄

The best!!!!!!! Pirate!
This is the most swagiest entrance ever!!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Such a perfect scene and entrance that we see Captain Jack Sparrow.
And that's how a legend was born.
Even thousand of oscar award is not enough for his character.
Back in 2003 as a 9 year old I went to see this in the theaters after many of my class mates had been talking about the film and how fun it was. I forced my parents to take me. I though this film was alright till this scene. And when this came up, I had a smile on my face. I knew this character was something special. Since that moment, Captain jack became my favorite character of all time. Thanks for the amazing and funny times Captain Jack.
