Gta online has gotten so bad that me and my homie literally go around lobbies findings griefers to kill over and over until they leave the lobby. Yesterday we made about 5-6 players leave and thats honestly the calmest gta lobby ive ever been in.
GTA 4 online was not as complex but it was 10x more fun than GTA 5 for one simple reason. The game didn't feel the need to tell you how to play it and punish you for not playing the way it wanted you too.

I started playing GTA Online on 2023 and I've been loving it so far, but seeing how the game used to be, i'm surprised how people survived during that era. Like what do you mean back then you couldn't rely on invite only sessions to grind, do setups, sell products, etc., that must've been a nightmare.

GTA Online is only fun if you mod money and treat it like a sandbox. The payouts are so miserable for the prices it feels like real life 2.0 at this point. It's ironically sad the just like in real life the only way to get a head in GTA Online is to break the rules.

I didn't get into GTA Online until the Diamond Casino came out, where they let players play for a week. Once I got that week to play, that's when I realized that playing GTA Online was something I was going to do for a long time. Rockstars game design has always been complete trash, especially online. They are carried because everyone has a rose tinted view of rockstar because of their great writing and single player characters but gameplay wise, man they suck. And they suck even more when it comes to giving players what we want.
Especially if your on pc, over half the game unplayable thanks to menus running rampant. Been like that since two years owned the game. Hopefully one day can play the whole game, use one of these expensive super cars in a race. but as time passes more pc rots, now lost an entire heist casino.. cant buy the arcade. Listen to all the console players photograph birds and whatnot for their ace ventura outfit. Honestly wouldn't think they sold this game on pc. Not one search result in youtube any news, just news on what modders tear up.
I am so angry about how not fun GTA online is. The griefing, the grinding if you don't want to pay-to-win, and just the overall garbage experience. It's intentionally designed to be off-putting to anybody that isn't a raging asshole. This is why I hate playing games online.
I never gave GTA Online much of a chance because I always felt I spent 70% of my time looking for what to do and 25% of my time being annoyed by other players... Leaving 5% of time for fun.

I’ve tried gta online several times with friends from rdo and for me it wasn’t fun at all. It’s such a grind. The map is so boring and doesn’t seem like it was built for online. I hope gta6 online is built for gta online and is way more fun. They can take so much content from what five m did for online. It should have unlimited things to do
Not only with friends, I had fun even playing solo honestly. It maybe only me but the grind was kind of therapeutic for me when I was in a bad place. Making a goal of building a car collection and slowly selling businesses and grinding, I loved it. Even sometimes roleplaying playing solo after a long day's work. Same for rdo even though that doesn't have much content.
I bought GTA V at the beginning of 2019. I reached level 15 in GTA Online and never played it again. I can only talk about this short period of time, but I happened to no longer be interested. A funny thing: after that I played in some MTA servers a few times (that unofficial multiplayer for GTA San Andreas). 😄
Tbh I got tired of gta online back when it started on the 360. The first few months we’re exciting as well when my friends joined it took it to a new level but I felt as heists were being delayed it got boring quick as well the map isn’t really diverse compared to gta iv. The time hackers made it in was so much fun as it was unexpected and races were my favorite the death matches were okay and the missions were decent. Then hearing after heists there would be no more dlc for the 360 I couldn’t get a new console at the time so just stopped after
Even the San Andreas Multiplayer (SAMP) mod had better organised servers. I'll never forget my cherished memories of storming Area 69 or playing defence, the original sumo car matches, or a mode where you didn't just earn money from activities but had to bank it to keep it safe - in some ways an early prototype to GTA Online.
I've played the game in PS3, skipped PS4 and bought it again after all this time in the PS5. It's definitely a completely different game. The online interaction was really so much better before, but also there's so much more content to play right now (I've bought it in 2022 and still couldn't buy every business yet) that's a different but interesting experience. But I only play in invite-only lobbies now, as opposed before that I didn't even know that this was a possibility.
I think the update that killed gta was the ill gotten gains. It wasn’t impossible to afford the doc but it set the standard for rockstar to keep setting outrageous prices. Especially with the money glitches and modded accounts going around.
Funnily enough, I was having a blast until someone cheated and gave me all the money it took to unlock everything Heists were cool, I met a crew of chill, but very competent people and heisting had it's challenges but was still fun Then one of them gave me like $100mil by cheating And uh I bought all the stuff I would have wanted. And I never touched the game after that day. That was the first day he realized the game wasn't actually pulling heists and having fun, the game (and they designed it this way on purpose) was grinding for things in the game. :(
GTA ONLINE IS A SANDBOX make your own clubs and missions within players. I love the game and I've been in the Motorcycle club comm for 5 years. We ride bikes, play free aim and fight/chill with other mc clubs that do the same thing. It's like a gta 4 tlatd DLC. We've had ups, downs, memories etc.
After I stopped forcing my expectations on what I felt GTA online should be and started approaching the game in the way devs intended players would play, it has become a very relaxing MMO lite, I’ve made a few friends who I can chill and pvp with but mostly I just like building my virtual characters empire, buying new cars and doing stunts i also play free aim which keeps the game from becoming monotonous as well as adding another avenue of progression to chase, my own skill level which is potentially limitless. If I need people for missions that require it they’re there or I have the jobs finder but mostly I do my own thing. Another avenue of profess It’s a shame the rest of the player base doesn’t share this mentality, public lobbies would be tolerable.💔

The only time I felt like it was fun at the beginning. When people actually did activities together like deathmatch. And missions. But there was SO MUCH working against it. You had to have fun in spite of it's design. THe only reason we like GTA Online is cuz it's GTA and it's online. Just like FO76 that's the only reason it exists and it's kind of the only thing it has going for it. Honestly I was not surprised. I never expected much from Rockstar from GTA Online. I played RDR Online. I played GTA IV online. Those were my expectations. And With that perspective, I guess they kind of surpassed my expectations. You can do more in GTAO that RDR(1)O
Fun was or is, for new players, the idea of getting bazillions and spend it on cars and apartaments to brag with other players and/or your own friends. The game itself sucks. And im happy people are waking up from the 10 years old spell
in 140ish lvls I only played with other players in less than 5 occasions. other than that, I always by myself alone in a solo or friends only lobby. I also skipped most activities or missions because with who'm I will do them with? and why deal with anxiety and stress and nerves while playing with others when all I wanted was to have fun and relax

Arena Wars Carnage was a lot of fun so were a lot of the custom game modes like bowling or cars vs rockets. It’s all what you make of it a lot of people won’t know fun if it came and sat on their face.

For me Online was always fun. Heck, even now i continue playing it solo and with friends. I think what made me fall in love with Online that this game is unique. It's the only game that transfered the GTA formula to Online and sucseeded - the only other title that tried to the same was APB and it failed miserably. Of course, there were SAMP, MTA and alternative Online for V but first of all - these are mods and second - none of the server i played on captured the essence of GTA. Light RP servers are MMO at this point where RP stands just for the sake of being there and this servers and they are even more microtransaction heavy and grindy then official Online. Hard/Full RP projects are great: i'm still playing on one in SAMP and tried GTA World, but these are totally different from the core concept of GTA and rely on roleplay. And not to mention the cars. The major reason i still play Online is civilian vehicles. The variety there is on par with proper racing games and i just love having a collection of all this cool cars in one game.
that is not a definitive factor for an online game's survival. It's all about profitability. Considering how expensive sharkcards are, they only need a small amount of people to buy them in order to justify longer support. player count has drastically decreased, more in PC due to FiveM's competition. look at Red Dead Online. Incredibly fun but was cancelled since Rockstar couldnt get players to spend money on gold.

Ehhhh, with a sandbox game like GTA, I honestly believe the game is as fun as you make it to be, I’ve been playing since September 2013 then online in November and I can safely say I’ve had fun all these years, yes I’ve played with friends and family but I’m still a solo player, at least 90% of my playtime is private session by myself, I’ve gone through Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox series X and PC. I am aware that not everyone feels the same way as I do and I am definitely getting sick of the same map, I’ve seen every inch of this map is every possible way, but it’s still a sandbox game where YOU CAN CREATE THE FUN

Max Payne 3 online sucks ass. It's an unbalanced, grindy mess. GTA IV (+ TLAD), RDR1 and the Stories games on PSP are their only good Multiplayer offerings. If you want Max Payne 3 MP but good, play Double Action Boogaloo. It's free, balanced, and has superior gunplay.

Gta 5 online is arguably the best game ever made…I mean the amount of things you are able to do in this open world game is crazy. So many different communities, so many different mini games/modes etc

No time to watch now, opinion btv (before the video): I had fun on PS3, maybe because it was the least popular platform at the time, with more specific users, and less hacking.. I like cars, and racing, and found it fun overall there. Maybe had a slightly smaller percentage of ayholes, dunno. Actually managed to have a 2/1 (no not K/D) race win ratio. Without cheesing and using trick custom layouts or buying the absolute best cars possible. Will come back for discussion...
I feel like some of your complaints are rooted in the way that humans are and not the game. For example Futuristic/Militaristic vehicles are fun but the way people use them isn’t fun. That doesn’t make them bad it’s just unfortunate the way they are abused

I've played the game in PS3, skipped PS4 and bought it again after all this time in the PS5. It's definitely a completely different game. The online interaction was really so much better before, but also there's so much more content to play right now (I've bought it in 2022 and still couldn't buy every business yet) that's a different but interesting experience. But I only play in invite-only lobbies now, as opposed before that I didn't even know that this was a possibility.
I think the update that killed gta was the ill gotten gains. It wasn’t impossible to afford the doc but it set the standard for rockstar to keep setting outrageous prices. Especially with the money glitches and modded accounts going around.
14:10 took me off guard, wasn't expecting to see my little city in a gta related video 😅
Ironically, i had more fun playing it by myself than with others, specially the Cayo Perico missions.
Funnily enough, I was having a blast until someone cheated and gave me all the money it took to unlock everything
Heists were cool, I met a crew of chill, but very competent people and heisting had it's challenges but was still fun
Then one of them gave me like $100mil by cheating
And uh
I bought all the stuff I would have wanted. And I never touched the game after that day. That was the first day he realized the game wasn't actually pulling heists and having fun, the game (and they designed it this way on purpose) was grinding for things in the game. :(

make your own clubs and missions within players. I love the game and I've been in the Motorcycle club comm for 5 years. We ride bikes, play free aim and fight/chill with other mc clubs that do the same thing. It's like a gta 4 tlatd DLC. We've had ups, downs, memories etc.

After I stopped forcing my expectations on what I felt GTA online should be and started approaching the game in the way devs intended players would play, it has become a very relaxing MMO lite, I’ve made a few friends who I can chill and pvp with but mostly I just like building my virtual characters empire, buying new cars and doing stunts i also play free aim which keeps the game from becoming monotonous as well as adding another avenue of progression to chase, my own skill level which is potentially limitless. If I need people for missions that require it they’re there or I have the jobs finder but mostly I do my own thing. Another avenue of profess

The only time I felt like it was fun at the beginning. When people actually did activities together like deathmatch. And missions. But there was SO MUCH working against it. You had to have fun in spite of it's design. THe only reason we like GTA Online is cuz it's GTA and it's online. Just like FO76 that's the only reason it exists and it's kind of the only thing it has going for it. Honestly I was not surprised. I never expected much from Rockstar from GTA Online. I played RDR Online. I played GTA IV online. Those were my expectations. And With that perspective, I guess they kind of surpassed my expectations. You can do more in GTAO that RDR(1)O
Fun was or is, for new players, the idea of getting bazillions and spend it on cars and apartaments to brag with other players and/or your own friends. The game itself sucks. And im happy people are waking up from the 10 years old spell
in 140ish lvls I only played with other players in less than 5 occasions. other than that, I always by myself alone in a solo or friends only lobby. I also skipped most activities or missions because with who'm I will do them with? and why deal with anxiety and stress and nerves while playing with others when all I wanted was to have fun and relax

Arena Wars Carnage was a lot of fun so were a lot of the custom game modes like bowling or cars vs rockets.

I played GTA OL when it first started it had potential but they didn’t add the right things greifers ruined the game and also it’s been out to long and it’s really nothing new they can do
Honestly freemode is chaotic but the missions and jobs are enjoyable to an extent
For me Online was always fun. Heck, even now i continue playing it solo and with friends. I think what made me fall in love with Online that this game is unique. It's the only game that transfered the GTA formula to Online and sucseeded - the only other title that tried to the same was APB and it failed miserably. Of course, there were SAMP, MTA and alternative Online for V but first of all - these are mods and second - none of the server i played on captured the essence of GTA. Light RP servers are MMO at this point where RP stands just for the sake of being there and this servers and they are even more microtransaction heavy and grindy then official Online. Hard/Full RP projects are great: i'm still playing on one in SAMP and tried GTA World, but these are totally different from the core concept of GTA and rely on roleplay.
And not to mention the cars. The major reason i still play Online is civilian vehicles. The variety there is on par with proper racing games and i just love having a collection of all this cool cars in one game.
If it wasn't fun then it would't have lasted that long.
that is not a definitive factor for an online game's survival. It's all about profitability. Considering how expensive sharkcards are, they only need a small amount of people to buy them in order to justify longer support. player count has drastically decreased, more in PC due to FiveM's competition. look at Red Dead Online. Incredibly fun but was cancelled since Rockstar couldnt get players to spend money on gold.

Ehhhh, with a sandbox game like GTA, I honestly believe the game is as fun as you make it to be, I’ve been playing since September 2013 then online in November and I can safely say I’ve had fun all these years, yes I’ve played with friends and family but I’m still a solo player, at least 90% of my playtime is private session by myself, I’ve gone through Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox series X and PC.
I am aware that not everyone feels the same way as I do and I am definitely getting sick of the same map, I’ve seen every inch of this map is every possible way, but it’s still a sandbox game where YOU CAN CREATE THE FUN

Gta IV online, now that, that was fun with no grind bullshit. The same goes for red dead redemption 1 online. rdo sucks for the same reasons gta online sucks. Max payne 3 online when it comes to pvp was their best work imo.

so besides setting up a heist in chuck e cheeses, the mission structure in fivem seems identical to gta (go to point b, do something, go back to point a)

I had fun on PS3, maybe because it was the least popular platform at the time, with more specific users, and less hacking.. I like cars, and racing, and found it fun overall there. Maybe had a slightly smaller percentage of ayholes, dunno. Actually managed to have a 2/1 (no not K/D) race win ratio. Without cheesing and using trick custom layouts or buying the absolute best cars possible.
