The 2 people in my life who both became therapists were the most fucked up people emotionally. The people I’d LEAST likely go to for advice or support. it’s weird that that became their professions. They both seem like they need lots of therapy. And they’re both really odd.

Re: cat hater- though I agree people shouldn't get pets if they aren't ready for a 10 year committment some people take this too far. Life is hard and things change. If you can't give your pet a nice life it's most ethical to give it to someone who can. And this caller is probably sad or angry everytime she sees the stupid cat cuz it reminds her of her stupid ex. Stop resenting the kitty and find her a good home!

I am constantly bored due to ADHD. Should I never get married? Or maybe marry with a lot of drama to never get bored? I am single and I am bored, when I'm in drama I'm overwhelmed. I prefer overwhelmed

To reduce boredom and repetition, I recommend and encourage you to work on your intellectual attainment and edification. Devote your time and energy to learning something you find interesting, engaging, challenging and intellectually stimulating and you may find that you are infrequently bored.
The arts, and or academia offer great opportunities for cerebral development! Perhaps by intentionally shifting focus from the banality of human drama, to the pursuit of nurturing your intelligence in a studious realm, you will find fascination and feel more deeply satisfied… ☺️ 📕 🖊️ ❤💥

The mom of that dude with the cheerleader daughter is legit narcissistic and I’m not throwing around that word loosely here. It’s near clinical. And the dude seems like he has serious self esteem issues due to having that type of mom. Or at the very least EXTREMELY stunted

"Ben, navigating relationships and personal responsibilities can be complex, but it's crucial to approach them with sensitivity and respect. If someone close to you needs emotional support, consider suggesting a pet only if you believe they're capable and willing to take on that responsibility. As for your own time, it's okay to set boundaries and be honest about your commitments, but do so respectfully. Encouraging your loved ones to reconnect through a vacation might be a thoughtful gesture . Ben maybe If you're consider doing a side job to be busier, like strip dancing at a gay club, Remember, it's important to communicate openly and kindly with those involved in your life."

"Hey Matt, here's a fun idea for spreading some positivity: Why not amp up the encouragement for you & your wife by going all out? Get creative and maybe even a bit comical! Grab a bullhorn and be louder than your mom. You could even team up with your dad to lead a cheer squad of your own. Imagine capturing all this energy and fun on a TikTok video - it could really brighten someone's day. Sometimes, folks might not be in the best spirits, possibly due to life's challenges like 'the change,' but your spirited positivity could be just the thing to turn that around. Lead by example, and you might just find others, including your mom, joining in the positivity parade!"

The whole Lena Dunham thing seems like more people trying to attack her for something. From what I read, she adopted one dog for four years who had aggression issues that didn’t subside and she want any people to be put in danger. She did the correct thing and gave him to trainers. Then her sister have her her old almost dying yorkie. The dog was old and basically had to be put down after a decline in health (perhaps it was in pain). Personally, I don’t ever want to put down my dog unless he’s drowning in his own fluids and even pain meds won’t do anything. Maybe that’s what happened. Then, she had a cat who passed away. I don’t know much about cats, but have heard many people with outdoor ones lose their cats suddenly from accidents. They are escape artists. Don’t know what happened. I think the problem is she posts about it. Instead, she should just keep it to herself. I certainly don’t think she abused animals. These are not kids. It’s actually one dog she rehomed in order to protect people from being bitten.

Wow, the advice for caller number one chiseled jaw, is way too complicated and convoluted. No shade I love the three of y’all but, this is what you say:
“mom, when you say things like XYZ, I feel disappointed, hurt, and embarrassed. Because what you’re saying is inappropriate to the space were in on the people were around. My request is that you keep thoughts like this to yourself. Thanks! Love you.”
And then you can’t control how she takes that emotionally, but you get to say that upfront and you get to make that request, and then she has to live with the choice of continuing the behavior of that now she understands you as her son don’t appreciate
