Wow. People get over yourselves. The beauty of being a musician is all about breaking bounds and expressing yourself in the way you see fit. Chris Cornell is the best, he has earned the bloody right to venture in the world of music, let the guy do his thing. People who say to never conform to anything can be so hypocritical because they are conforming to their own prejudice. Thanks for keeping an open mind Chris. Look forward to more down the road!

It's the people that are hacking obscure chunks of hair off and sticking metal all through their face to be 'true to themself', and not a sheep, ironically in the same fashion as everyone making the same statement, furthermore ironic in defacing their natural appearance to 'be themself'.

bmav007 I couldn't have expressed this better if I tried. Chris has proved himself to be a diverse and exceptional musician and I'm genuinely heartbroken at his untimely passing at such a young age when he still had so much more to give.

I fucking love seeing that Audioslave - triple platinum in the background. I'd be so goddamned proud of that if I were him. That's a great album -- especially Light My Way.
However, I'm still trying to find the DVD-A version of the album. There's a CD, vinyl, and then a DVD-A which apparently is 48kHz quality. I have seen it on ebay ONCE but that's it. I want to get my hands on it so I can rip it and share it with the world.
Edit: Once again I talk about a celebrity and they die shortly after. Wtf? I made this post and then 10~ hours later Chris Cornell dies. RIP. God damnit I'm upset.

That actually was the only R&B record I could actually listen to.
His vocal ability is amazing and he just proved with that record that he can sing other styles of music - that he is that good.
One way of looking at it is (Ok, this is my interpretation) as a big call to other artists saying "Hey, this is how it could be if you didn't rely so much on digitally enhanced (?) vocals".

Wondering what I usually listen too? Rebellion and Shadows Fall, Dark tranquility, Megadeath and the list goes on, didn't even know who Chris Cornell was when I discovered Audioslave (also ossom music)
As heavy as I like my music, chris cornell kicks some serious butt and the new album (scream) in my opinion is spectacular!

It's just my impression , but he seems pretty upbeat for this interview . I don't know how much (& what) kind of shit may have accumulated in his life (if even any..?) up to this point , but I - like many - NEVER expected to hear of him dying so young . And that brings me to really wonder if it was a conscious decision to die ....... seems like to me (from the details I have heard) it was death by misadventure. Then again, we don't really know WHAT to "trust" in terms of these details . I just still can't believe it .......... he was a huge influence to me ....Badmotorfinger was a constant for me in the Summer of 1992 ................ not to mention Superunknown in 1994 (a masterpiece, IMO) ....... just really fucked up he's gone ...............

Suicidal people are often upbeat once they created a plan, they're looking forward to it all being over. I know that sounds odd but I see that in so many of the stories of suicide survivors. They're kinda like yeay, I have a plan

After king animal came out he got weird. The last few years he was hunching over and channeling Layne staley in concert. I think he was on prescriptions for a few years before he died. It just ate him up. If you've ever known someone whose been on prescription medicine for years it slowly sucks your soul. Even something like propecia can make you miserable when you have to take it everyday.

I'm a big fan of Cornell's music, and the bands he's been in. As a person he seems pretty cool. But I didn't like Scream. I don't hold it against him for making it, or anything, and never did. He's an artist. I listen to a lot of music, a lot of different styles. Pantera to Seasick Steve. But Scream didn't connect with me on any level. But I love the guys work, and one album I don't care for will not change that. Glad Soundgarden is back though!

Yeah, no shit. Chris got older- it happens, people change/grow/mature he's not the same person he was when he was in his early twenties he's a father now. An artist, a businessman. To me it would seem more "sell-out" if he had just tried to keep doing what he did in his younger days with soundgarden because if he didn't FEEL that way and had to fake it then that would be lame. His art reflects where he is as a person at the given time, he got sober and he's mellowed out. Kudos to him

    • @susien7323
      @susien7323 3 роки тому +1

I think this is untrue. A person doesn’t just grow out of depression. He has always been sensitive and crazy talented, his first wife Susan actually managed the band along with AIC, among other Seattle bands. His second wife married her fairy tale man and happens to be a publicist.
Suddenly he is stylized and Mrs. is in designer garb. The two other kids are also stylized while daughter Lily looks her age down to chuck martins.
Both wives were business women but Susan was always there in the beginning. Seems to me wife #2 the publicist publicized the shit out of him.
If you watch old interviews you’ll see how much he didn’t want the stadium sellout life. I will always miss this guy ❤️
