You see a lot of reviews of hotels on UA-cam which would suggest every 5 star hotel is the best in that location (often from a sample of just the one they visited), so i think it's worth recognising the work you put in to review these properties objectively and genuinely provide a valuable comparison. I don't know Vietnam at all, having stuck with Bali and Thailand for the last ten years, but i think you've just cemented our destination choice for next year, and this hotel is top of the list. And i should add that i normally like to get out and about from the hotel, so without your honest reviews, i would never choose a resort 'with no roads'!
Appreciate your kind words. It’s certainly worth the seclusion here, even if just for a few days. Loads of other resorts in Cam Ranh and around Nha Trang (plus of course, the rest of the country…) so staying here a few nights as part of a broader trip I think is ideal. Thanks for watching 🩴
Nice review. Having just stayed at one of the other resorts nearby, just have to say getting there from Cam Ranh airport can be a bit of a hike with the boat ride at the end.
Наконец то вам повезло с отелем. Прекрасный выше всяких похвал. Территория отеля большая и растительность разнообразная придаёт причудливый вид всему видео
I think you're currently in my neck of the woods. 😉 I wanted to watch your previous review from 2021 first. However, l don't think it's narrated as the description appears in text, so l will go back to it when l have my glasses on to read. The villas are absolutely dreamy, and you aren't joking, the wood panels look so polished as do the handbasin, linens etc. So glad it's kept up the standard you remember and experienced last time. The cost you paid for a private pool villa with spectacular views, a fantastic beach, and service to match is unbeatable 👍
stunning review as always, and stunning property too. the only thing that doesn't really come across this beautifully is the beach. it really does look underwhelming in comparison to other beaches you have reviewed.
Likely not, their pricing skyrocketed (tripled…) as soon as Vietnam reopened and as beautiful as it is, that hill pool villa is not worth $1200 per night to me.
Thanks for the great video Kevin! Does the hotel have any steam room or sauna in the spa/ fitness area? Somehow many hotels do not mention about these kind of facilities on their websites. For me a very important point though when choosing a hotel.
I do not believe they do as their spa doesn't have a centralized facility. Rather, if you have a treatment booked, you're taken directly to your treatment room by your butler. Thanks for watching 🩴
Hi Kevin, thanks for such a good and detailed video. I have watched all your reviews for Six Senses and L'alya in Ninh Van, I'm planning a 5-7 nights stay in Nov and I'm torn between them, especially when Six Senses is only $70 more per night for the Hill top villa than L'alya. Which one would you recommend in this case? Thanks!
I'd be seriously suspicious of any website or agent selling Six Senses for under $400 per night. Where are you seeing this price? If it was a genuine rate, then surely SS is a better resort- usually 3x the price of L'alya.
Blessed living here in Saigon for 8 years while having frequented many of this country 5 star resorts. Our TOP location is the Regent on Phu Quoc. Hope you will visit it due time 👍🏼
Lovely place, definitely my kind of place! I’m going to have a wild stab at the end of video quiz, just to try and impress 🤣 How about ‘Jumierah, Uluwatu in Bali’
I'm honestly shocked that you (and one other) solved that puzzle so quick. It's a pretty obscure brand and location in that part of the world haha. Impressed, I am :)
@@tfft I called it a wild guess because the property is listed as Jumierah Bali, but you’re not one to follow the crowd so you would leave the superfluous bit out! I will now change that from a wild guess to a lucky guess before I get too smug!😜
i am deciding whether to choose Naka Island Phuket or L'Ayla for a 3 nights island getaway in early Oct. Which would be better option for activities and food choices? Thanks!!
Is good to see you back in Vietnam. I have plans for a beach vacation for my family at the end of this year (about January next year). Do you recommend any beaches and resorts in Thailand or Vietnam?
In your video you mentioned to name another resort in Vietnam which has a private pool villa and equally good. Well, I haven’t been to L’alya but Premier Village Phu Quoc was a good resort
Love your Vietnam hotel reviews. I was considering between Mango Bay and this resort. But after seeing this video, I think I'll go with this resort. We're planning to be at this resort in mid-January, hopefully it won't rain much while we're there. Question: how is the tip system in Vietnam big resort, is the tip already included in the dining bill? I haven't been to VN resorts, so not sure how it works there. Thanks again for another great video.
There's no standard in Vietnam. Anytime service (and/or VAT) are an additional charge, it will be displayed as a separate line on the receipt as well as printed on the menus. Thanks for watching 🩴
No, actually, it’s not lol. If you split VN into 1/3s from North to South, Nha Trang is comfortably in the southern third. I assure you no one living in Nha Trang labels themselves as central VNese, characterized by completely different weather, different cultural/minority groups and different accents. Central VN extends from Quy Nhơn to Vinh.
Hey Kevin, you’re one of the few people who’ve been to all 3 of these resorts! Would you say the Six Senses is significantly better vs. L’Alya? The prices they charge are insane!
I have to say, I liked the old "letter" more. Not sure where to look at that passport thing. It's a bit too much. Nonetheless, you are the best reviewer. Thank you for doing this!
Nice video! Snorkeling worthwhile? Can’t wait to see Seoul (so many people taking plastic surgery vacations to Korea, due to their low costs and high level of skill) 🎉🎉🎉
DAAAAAANGEROUSLY close to booking this for January. Question tho: In your final ratings, one of the stats is F&B Prices. This one got a 9/10. Do higher numbers mean more expensive prices? or do high numbers mean more reasonable prices? 9/10, is that super expensive, or super affordable. I feel like higher numbers should be more favourable to the guest, but I'm guessing that the F&B prices are not on the low end. Kind of unintuitive.
Well I’ve never received that question before so I suppose it’s intuitive for most. All scores and metrics are relative to the price I paid for the stay. So, F&B Pricing scores are the same. A high score means a good value based on the price paid for the resort. A $10 beer is a good value at a $1000 per night resort. A $10 beer is a horrible value at a $100 per night resort.
This comment was held back by UA-cam for my review (idk why…) and now I’ve approved it. Other comments that didn’t appear, I have no idea. UA-cam doesn’t delete comments, they would be sent to me for review, but I haven’t seen any others from you in my held comments.
May have missed something, but why would the staff need to be more proficient or know more phrases in Korean haha :'D? Was actually going to ask if you would ever consider going back to previously visited hotels/resorts and give updates, but I guess you answered that question. I personally wouldn't mind that in a style such as this video :) Great video nonetheless
Koreans are the largest tourism market for Vietnam now. 60-70 flights per day (each way) between Korea and Vietnam, mostly geared towards Koreans going to beach or golf resorts.

For transferring to the resort from the airport, what did you use? Does the resort pick you up at the airport?
Sure, they will arrange it for a fee… Grab and taxis also perfectly fine.
@@tfft what domestic flight is good in Vietnam to fly from Da Nang to Nha Trang?

Just a little correction Nha Trang is in Central Vietnam, not in Southern Vietnam. :)

The only good snorkeling locations in VN are in Phu Quoc or Con Dao. Thanks for watching 🩴
Where do u find the rate of $285 USD? Why I can only see $500+ rate from Agoda?
Surely it depends on the time of the year. In 20 seconds I've just seen $252 per night on Agoda in April.
Jumeirah Uluwatu in Bali?
Oh, wow. I would have never expected someone to get this the first round 😱
Yikes, that appears to be a long staircase to get to your room?! Or is it not that bad? (No buggy access?)
This are Hill Rock Pool Villas, which are up stairs. Plenty of Lagoon Villas located on ground level. Thanks for watching 🩴
