I fully agree with Anant Ghanekar Ji's findings. I am listening to Raga Bhageshree by Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Ji for the first time on UA-cam. Otherwise, Bhageshree Bahar and Bhageshree Kanada were available so far. Thanks a million to Raju Asokan Ji.
According to a book on him, panditji was fade up of this raga as many singers have over sung it hence he avoided this raga but in 2001 on a special request by Shri Jayant Chatarjee he sang this at his home at calcutta. The drut bandish is actually a marathi natya pada composed by him for a play.
anant ghanekar I got to know about raga bhageshri when I was reading tantu a Kannada novel written by S L Bhyrappaa in that pandit ravishankar was playing this raga but in UA-cam I am unable to get bhageshri palyed by Ravi Shankar

very very interesting , soothing and beautiful singing , honorable pt. bhimsen is best and clearlest singer of classical , his style does justice to these difficult ragas. common man can appreciate and enjoy these ragas because of masters like pt. ji. salute to you sir.
In addition, it is my imagination that Bharat Ratna Pt Bhimsen Joshi Ji has sung many tricky and complicated Ragas unlike others though whichever Ragas he sings, he shows some uniqueness, something different which no one else can do it nor done it..
While every real music lover is so thankful to Raju Asokan Ji (who has loaded the highest number of Bharat Ratna Pt Bhimsen Ji's concerts), may I request you to load many more please? You will be undoubtedly blessed for this.
The versatility,completeness,creativity,and range of voice-ability to touch the 4th octave-of Pt Bhimsen Joshi is astounding.No other classical vocalist can equal him.( Likewise, Mohd Rafi in film singing towers above all!!)
Dear Harish Bhatia, Words are sacred: they should not be used without purpose and without sense. It is not the 4th octave which makes a difference - it is the musicality! Panditji is superb, but the appreciation must be based on material facts and not on surmises. In this very recording (which is excellent anyway) he did not surpass even the 3rd octave as it was not the requirement of the raga. So why to make such frivilous claims? Also please listen to Nikhil Jha's advise. I have the privilege of meeting Panditji in 2008 in Pune and he was all praise for the great Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. Wah... Thanks a lot Raju Asokanji. Bageshree is my favourite raaga. I was searching for Bageshree by Pt.Bhimsen joshi for a long. I was wondering why a Great Maestro like him has not sung this major raaga because I could not find this raaga sung by him. I was somewhat made selfsatisafaction by listening to his Bageshree kanada in youtube . But today I got a superb rendition of this raaga by the Great Maestro.Especially I liked the Dhrut composition of Natyasangeet "daan kari re" .Thank you once again. Please upload Bageshree sung by Pt.Jitendra Abhisheki , if possible, because I am not able to find the same after a long search.

That would make him 2001-1922=79 years old. The voice sounds more like from mid 1990s.
