I enjoy the comparison to a surgeon going on 'tilt'. It really highlights the absurdity of the situation. Emotional control is one of the most important aspects of a profitable traders psychology. "You can practice taking losses." - Dr. S, LOVE that nugget.

I'm hoping that practicing taking losses while trading on tilt will allow me to develop some techniques on how to effectively deal with it. I've been very enthusiastic but making slow progress trading for 6 years since August and I have the trading down for the most part, but if I go on tilt (I often do), I struggle to step away or calm down. I blew 4 funded prop firm accounts last month.. I'm going to go for a much larger size account after a few weeks off to see if that will make me more timid or cautious and more willing to stick to some basic rules. I realize when I need to calm down and even say it, but I often cannot.
I struggled with the same psychological challenges trying to transition to live poker after grinding low stakes s&g turbo tournaments (very robotic-easy decisions)) online for years.

Developing traders can sometimes really underestimate the time it takes to develop the skills mentioned here. Really liked the analogies Dr. S provides. He had alot of golden nuggets from this session pieced into several different recent videos for smb. Your traders are soo lucky to have access to his skillset. 👍

Meditation damps down the amygdala n boosts the pre-frontal cortex activity. In other words, it dials down the animal part of our brain and boosts the rational part of our brain. Great clip Dr S and thank you. I love meditation. Thanks, Kirby.

@@smbcapital Thanks, it helps me get clear at times and also, very importantly, boosts my energy back up. The oxygen and blood flow to the brain. Have a great day.

@@KT-zx9jr oh shit. I thought meditating only has mental(psychological, not physiological) effects lol.
So this is why, after chakra meditating for 15-30minutes, I seem to be able to play sports twice a day despite having no actual proper sleep that time. I had more energy than usual and thought it was just some sort of placebo effect.
Will try putting meditation as part of the daily routinr again.
      Thanks

you'll really do have the best material. I've been through dozens of your videos and very one of them comes in handy at its own given time. had the best and worst 2 weeks. 3 days of tilt destroyed 2 weeks of work. every lesson will be learned painfully before it is practiced. "we get what we want out of the markets." the evidence suggests i want to learn every lesson painfully. thanks SMB. you'll are helping more people than you know.

@@actiontrader5160 I would highly encourage you to look at higher time frames of weekly to quarterly. The charts slows down massively and you’ll plan well ahead of short term traders and profit the long moves for many months
