The neraval @ 'jAtarUpa nibhacEla janmArcitam mamAkhila ' n the swarakalpana really an outstanding extempore magic and got assimilated perfectly with the notes of the ragam Maayamaalava gowla. The Violin mridamgam artists gave a superb support n enhanced the beauty of melody to the recital. Pranams n tributeto the soul of MS Amma on her birth Anniversary. pranams to the hreat soul of Maharaja Swathi Thirunal too. Upon listening this 'Deva Deva Kalayami"in Mayamalava Gowla I get connected to the Thyagaraja kriti - "meru samana dhIra varada raghuvIra jutamu rara maha" l!!! I am also instantly reminded of a Tamil kriti-'Marandida Maatten unnai njaan ..orukanamum unnai njaan" composed by Sathanur V Parthasarathy ( a composer whose many krities are yet to come into cutchery circuts ), of course in Ragam Nadanaamakriya, a janya derived from Mayamalavagowla , 15th on the Melakarta scale [ a Nishandantya Raga ie. the highest note sung is the kakali Nishadam (N3) ] , thus the melody is to be proliferated under a very slow tempo).
