Her voice actually sounds like its in quite better shape than it was a few years ago. Hope she continues to manage to get control over it, despite still taking on such difficult repertory.
Poor Sonya, she lost it when she read the critics. She has been complaining about the negative criticisms at every opportunity. She has been replaced by Angela Meade.

Nice voice by today's standards but musically too much ritardando and rubato. Bellini built this into the piece: There is no need to add more, as it simply spoils the effect.
I think such tempo is offered by the conductor, Benini adores such dying slowness. She has rhythm problems due to her inability to hold legato because of her low vocal stance and the difficulty of emission without normal support and breathing because of it. As a result the cantilena and steady pace are totally broken. There are very serious technical problems here.

We can hear that it sounds not right. However, the failure is part of success. Not every artist is always up to the level. However the production gave her the role, so the failure is also on their part.

yes. Seems unnecessarily dark. It's basically an ad for the Met so U think skipping the 2nd half is aimed at stoking curiosity.
