Wow Mark, it just doesn’t get better than that! Beautiful tank, stunning home, and the fish room just puts the icing on tha cake! Absolutely amazing setup! So jealous!
I love the smell of American excess...lol...that's just me being jealous. I loved how in the backroom, there is even some metal fish art on the wall. Attention to detail is marvelous. I'd jump at the chance for some hands on time with a fish room, but knowing some filthy rich peeps; they don't f with stuff like us lowly humans...lol. Anywho, gorgeous builds; you are a fantastic reef builder! TFS your genius.
This is one kick ass build!! If I had the money I would build the same thing in my house. Some the the comments that bitch about not needing all the equipment and spending way to much money on it are crazy. If money ain’t a problem then 99% of then would have the same build in there homes.
Mark, this might be one of the nicest builds I have seen in the 25 years I have been in our crazy hobby! An unreal job with all of the plumbing!! I am gearing up to start hard plumbing my new SCA 150. My CL-44 sump from Synergy will be here on Tuesday and my Orphek lighting system will be getting mounted NEXT weekend!!
Beautiful tank in a beautiful home. The sump is the size of the tank I want lol. Love the sculpture above the frag tank. I liked the inline heater. I know they are expensive but I don't know why this type of system is not used more in the hobby. It just makes sense. I do love the build but the one thing bothering me was the vortech pumps on the peninsula side. I know it's hard to have a good flow solution especially on a tank that long but it just draws your eye right to it. Love the video. Keep up the good work.
Half you have a job. But the owner of the tank misses out on all the fun of creating this system. That’s what the hobby is all about. Great job though man, love how this just flows. I stay away from a lot of media myself. Gfo sometimes but that’s about it.
OMG!!! PPL with LOADS of $$$$$$$.. I mean self cleaning really? I work my ass off everyday just to take care of my 5gal. 45 mg. And my 75g. I do all the work and cleaning myself. Damn! This is just an aweeeeeee moment! Dude you must be a freaking genius to do all that work, AND know how to do it all. Your just f'ing amazing. Wish i had a friend like you. Some ppl are just so DAMN LUCKY!!! Im so jealous.
It's funny I just re-watched a video of yours where you swapped out your 450G tank because the overflow won't allow your MP60s, and you said something about "DIYers can easily drill, but you aren't one of them so the company did it for you" yet here you are effectively DIYing for others :D
Wow, I should have said what an amazing job Mark did with this system. Just planning out something like this requires immense talent and skill. Bravo for that. I am more impressed with the fish room than the main display tank. (not talking about what is inside main display at this stage) Sorry, but after seeing all the wizardry of the fish room, I was like, that’s it? when I saw the main display. I am certainly not sneezing at it by any means, but there is some really nice larger display tanks that I’ve seen on YT. I think having the 10 foot wide tank like this makes maintenance a lot easier than having more of a vertical look, which imho, would have a more dramatic look than the big cabinets, top and bottom. But, ‘to each, his own’, as the saying goes. Good luck to the owner.
Yeah the aquarium looks great (I would take the power heads off the end of the aquarium, find another solution)👍...but look at the house 🏠 , that’s a beautiful sofa 🛋 ...is that by roche bobois?! And I love the wall color 🎨
Awsome! Onnnllyyyy thing is those Mp60s.. arg... Oh man what a shame, such a distraction when eeevverthing else in the room and on the cabinet is so absolutely pristine.. Since its a dream tank, you could have had run piping under the sand and had the flow come out of rocks inside the rock scape, or run pipes under the sand, then go up the corners of the end of the tank and had spouts at the top in a closed loop sort of way..
We considered it. Client didn't like the idea and with the the external overflow box and the mp60's on the overflow end of the tank we had little room to work with.
@@mrsaltwatertank My only question is do you have a way to leak check such a plumbing install beforehand, or do you just cross you fingers and hope all the pvc connections are leak-proof when you flip the on switch??...lol
With all due respect for your passion about this wonderful hobby and the way you take care of the live beings so seriously just want to question not only you but all of us including me of how much concerned are we about the natural habitat of these fishes and corals. It's nature's gift that is the sea and the oceans which we are trying to replicate at our Home spending thousands and millions but do we even bother to think that their natural habitat, i.e the ocean and the seas are destroyed and depleted by humans (plastics) every year. How much have we done and contributed to preserve the natural habitat?? Incredible build, thx for doing the video. The Mp40 are extremely distracting on the peninsula . Question for you, how the canopy is hold on the extremity where the pumps are? Does the canopy simply hold on the edge of the aquarium ?

A shame we can’t come up with technology to eliminate the ugly MP60s and the drop down power cords ruining the entire tank. There has to be a better option.

It is a shame but you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Nature of the beast with a 10’ long peninsula tank.
If the front wall was acrylic and about 2-3 inches thick, they could’ve drilled into the acrylic and made a transparent wave maker.
